As of a week ago, I hadn't really watched this new series all the way through. I would catch an episode here and there and although I would enjoy them a good deal, I wouldn't have said it was better than or equal to the 2K3 series or the original.

I finally decided to sit down and watch it all the way through and I shocked when I felt that it was edging the original series into third place. That's not to say I still don't love the original, I always will but this new series is just more rewarding on a story and character level.

Right off the bat you can tell there is confidence behind this show. It feels like everyone involved knew absolutely, 100% what they wanted and went for it. It's such a sure footed and confident show from episode one, where as I feel 2k3 had to wait a handful of episodes before it found it's voice. There are so many things this new series gets right. For one, the characterizations are great. These are as distinct as the turtles have been from one another on screen so far. Although I'm still struggling with how dumb they are making Mikey, but just when I get annoyed at how OTT he is, he says something that makes me laugh. I'm having a love/hate relationship with this Mikey so far. Each turtle has more quirks and character traits that make them feel more like real characters, even more so than the 2K3 series.

The ninja training and teachings of Splinter are also more emphasized and important to the growth of the Turtles than they ever have been before. Which ties into them feeling like actual teenagers for the first time as well.

And while the story arc this first season had a few hick-ups it was still a very well told arc and much more detailed than I would have assumed from a new TMNT cartoon.

The animation is also glorious. It is vibrant and energetic. The action is well choreographed and genuinely engaging and it's all around a well produced show.

And last but not least, it strikes that balance between seriousness and humor that fits the franchise JUST right.

If the second season is as good as the first, this may make it's way up to number one which is scary because I never thought I would love a TMNT toon as much as the 2k3 series.

The only things I can really whine about are Mikey being too idiotic and the use of chibi animation. It's not a total hindrance, but the show doesn't need it and just feels like they are trying to appeal to a crowd that may not watch the show to begin with.

That is truly one of the worst shows on TV, along with Avengers Assemble. To the original poster, glad you enjoy the show. It's already knocked 87 show down to 2nd place for me.

I just wish the Nick show would cut down on the, "mutant of the week" stories and do more with other types of villains.

Neither the original cartoon, 4kids cartoon, or the comics had, "mutant of the week" every single episode, I'm not sure why this show doesn't do the same.

yeah, this show is getting a little mutant crazy, but hopefully it starts to tone down a little. i think its just making the mutagen a bigger part of this series. where as something like 2k3 only brought it in a few times, and dealt with more of the alien or mystic side

Yeah and the OT was more Sci-fi and Paraody. If it tones dwon the Mutant of the week the writing can be very good in this show. right now they all just fall in the "meh" pile because there's so many of them.

So, no, the mutant of the week thing will never leave. The least they can do is make them interesting.

Shredder did different things every week.

Most of these new mutants don't even speak or have any personality. I would rather Nick bring back some more old characters like Groundchuck/Dirtbag over some of these generic monsters they've been introducing.

It is a little bit overdone. It's one of the things I hated right away about "Smallville", the first season was some dumb "Kryptonite Monster of the Week", and while they got rid of that quickly, it soon devolved into another formula, that of "Comic Book Character in Name Only of the Week". That predictable formula was extremely annoying after a while.

It could get annoying on this show if it never strays far from the formula, or most of the mutants become one-offs *just* to sell toys. I agree that they could do worse than just re-introduce some of the "classic" mutants, if they absolutely *have* to run with the New Mutant gimmick.

In the 1987 show, Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady tried to break into power stations and repower the Technodrome in most episodes. It was "Power Station break-in of the Week."

But yeah, please tone down mutant of the week in the 2012 cartoon. The only one I like in this one is Leatherhead.

As much as I loved Smallville, I understand how you feel. Sometimes, that is why I avoid all the Meteor Freak episodes because that just gets too much. But hey, I like this TMNT series, and if there are going to be new mutants most of the time, bring it. Just as long they are cool mutants and nothing lame.:twink:

Forgive me if I ask this, but are people actually afraid about the next season's direction, or is anyone worried about the show getting worse?:tconfuse:

Thankfully, this show is not as dumbed down as the 87 series. There were rumors on this show being like the OT which bugged me because I didn't want the turtles to be seen as a joke again and it would confuse kids of the 03 generation to no end.

Who diagnosed Mikey? I'm not saying it's not a real thing, I know people who legit have it, but I know *more* who were either misdiagnosed or "self-diagnosed". Some of those types just get too much sugar and caffeine. Which I could totally see being Mikey's case.

At least in the incarnations where they knew what "food" was, which apparently they didn't on this show.

For one, ADHD is is a controversial thing. Many professionals don't even consider it a real disorder. And who said he had this? The creators, or are fans diagnosing him? He's portrayed as dumb. Simple as that. His brothers don't take him seriously and neither does Shredder. He has a good heart and can be funny but half of the time his idiocy is a bit much. Why do people insist on coming to his defense and saying he's not dumb when a good majority of the fans think he is? How can you at least not see it? Disagree all you want, that's fine. But trying to say someone is wrong because they see a character in a way you don't isn't the way to go. I disagree with the opinion that the 2K3 Mikey is some ego maniac a-hole, but I don't try to convince people otherwise.

ADD and ADHD......they are the same I believe.

and aren't you exaggerating a little? Mikey isn't completely stupid.....he's only had a handful maybe less of true "dumb" moments

most of the time Mikey is seriously just not paying attention or he's just being silly.

and yes his ADD does make him lose focus, which could be seen as being dumb, but he isn't

Yeah, and I would agree with this. It's painfully obvious that even at his most focused, he's STILL far from being as intelligent as the others. How many times have they face-palmed at something he says which is pure idiotic drivel(no matter how funny WE might think it is)? And then there are instances where he has to be TOLD something that the other three already KNEW? That bit about what is in the sewer they LIVE in comes to mind... How could he spend FIFTEEN YEARS in a sewer and NOT KNOW what's in there??!! And there are other examples as well. ADD/ADHA has NOTHING to do with what you KNOW or what you are capable of understanding. All it does is cause difficulty in paying attention to specific situations. It does NOT affect one's mental capacity. He may suffer from ADHD, but let's face it- Mikey in this series is ALSO kinda dumb.

Not true. In the OT and 2K3 series, he was of at least average intelligence throughout, even though he had occasional "blonde moments" in 2K3. He was also fully competent and capable of going out on his own in both. "What's Michelangelo Good For", "The Gang's All Here", and 4Kids' "The Christmas Aliens" and various Turtle Titan episodes show this very well. The main reason anyone seems to think he was dumb in the OT is his "surfer" slang and personality, which is so laid-back and relaxed that it can come off as somewhat unintelligent, even though he's just as mentally competent as the others. Even in Mirage, he was actually pretty intelligent- not to mention creative. He just didn't APPLY that intelligence very often. But it was there- he was something of an armchair philosopher in the Mirage comics.

Nick is the first time that he's been THIS "dumbed down". There was some of that in 2K3, but certainly not to the extent as we see it in Nick's show. Unfortunately, each new version seems to make his "innocence" even more prominent, to the point of making him utterly naïve and ignorant of basic knowledge and concepts. This is the worst one so far.

okay I did a Mikey's dumb count in every episode!!! >:D

(note: this is all the times he was just plain stupid, not acting silly..and this doesn't include when he's not paying attention cause I blame his lack of focus on that one)

Rise of the turtles part 1: Mikey: “then we got ourselves a van!!” XD does that one count?

Rise of the turtles part 2:
1) Mikey wants to drink the mutagen to become a super-mutant…but then again he didn’t know how dangerous it was back then
2) Mikey not understanding the van plan!!
3)” why did snake turn into a weed?? His name is snake??” then again he also didn’t understand how the mutagen worked back then…so I would have asked the same question XD

Turtle Temper: none

New friend old enemy:
4) Mikey thinks the word “Wrong” starts with R

I think his name is Baxter Stockman: None…unless you count accidently losing the T-pod

Metal Head:
5) He tried to kick Metal head in the groin?? XD (the attempt was pretty funny though)

Monkey Brains: none…I would say him unable to fight without thinking because he started thinking about it was dumb….but it can actually happen XD Centipede Dilemma.

Never say Xever:
6) Mikey: "COOL free knife!" Donnie: “the NOTE dummy.” XD

The Gauntlet:
7) Touching the Kraang alarm!! Mikey!! Did you not learn the first time!

Panic in the Sewer: none

Mousers Attack:
8 ) Raph: “we’re better than you” Mikey: “Pfff at fighting maybe…" Raph: “….that’s what I meant…”
9) Mikey: "Museum of natural history!!” Donnie: "…and the lair!! Mikey: "gasp! That too!” XD

It came from the depths:
10) thinking pizza and a smoothie would actually work together…well at least he learned his lesson fast.

I monster: none

New girl in town:
11) not knowing where fertilizer comes from (in his defense I didn’t know when I was teen at first either…)

Alien Agenda:
12) Mikey you should know DNA! He probably blanked out during that part in Donnie's class

Pulverizer…eeh none

TCRI: none…

Cockroach terminator: none

Baxter’s Gambit:
13) Mikey: watch out guys…I think this may be a trap! (You’re already trapped Mikey) XD

Enemy of my enemy:
14) still believing in leprechauns….(although that could just be his innocence)

Karai’s vendetta
15)…..Mikey..who put you in charge of the Maps….
16) Mikey…you almost boiled April's hand because of Pizza!!

Pulverizer returns…none

Parasitica: Mikey was crazy silly in this episode…but he wasn’t stupid XD

Operation Breakout:
17) (Raph does Donnie Puppet) Mikey: "Donnie! Amazing, I didn’t even see his lips move! It’s like he’s a puppet that can throw his voice to himself…wait.."
this one had to be the worst one yet….the others were more or less silly but this one was downright stupid!!

Showdown part 1 and 2: eeeh none…

Not dumb in Parasitica? REALLY??!! After it took him NINETEEN times before he remembered Donnie's instructions??!! Um, yeah, THAT one DEFINITELY counts. His ONE BRIGHT MOMENT in it was actually posing as a wasp-zombie. the rest really WAS him being dumb. For a Mikey episode, it was highly disappointing. I had hoped he'd show more potential.

And "New Friend Old Enemy" had SEVERAL. Mikey naming his toes- Who does that? Not realizing that Bradford was also Shredder's henchman- even after it became obvious to EVERYONE. I'm sure there are others there, but I don't recall off-hand.

New Girl In Town: This is the same scene where he doesn't know what is IN the sewers. Not just where fertilizer comes from, but where THAT all ends up! Sheesh, it's not rocket science, Mikey....

Showdown: I'd say the "throw up- or down, or sideways" comment qualifies. Face-palm-worthy....

He almost fainted 19 times. He knew the instructions right away.

You really have no room to speak about how "dumb" Michelangelo is after getting that detail wrong.

And naming toes and making a joke about vomiting in an anti gravity chamber isn't dumb, either. Get a sense of humor.

those were "SILLY" moments not stupid moments.
Mikey naming his toes wasn't dumb (in a smart sense) it was just plain weird and silly

same with the throwing up....not stupid just silly.

in Parasitica, Mikey was about to be a zombie....it was working it's effects and screwing with his mind, and he still remembered the cure in the end. (and he almost fainted nineteen times)

I'll give you the obvious evil Bradford though XD

when I say stupid I mean something that questions his intelligence.
when he's silly and random that's just Mikey being Mikey.

Bingo. Exactly what I'm talking about.

I don't hate the guy or anything. I DO think he can be very funny, but there is no getting around they write him as a total dunce.

MsMarvelDuckie
09-09-2013, 08:47 PM
^Yup. That's exactly it. They've made him the "special ed" member of the team. Was it any coincidence that his wanting to shoot the cannons at everything was the reason Leo said he wasn't in charge of the weapons? Yeah, even his brothers know better than to trust him with anything requiring reason. What about poking Splinter while he was out of it? Not too bright. Or making omelets out of smoke bombs?! Uh, couldn't he tell those weren't actual eggs? And then he proceeds to start wasting them.....

Um, he only remembered AFTER he "almost passed out 19 times". His own words. You might want to rethink whom YOU are calling dumb, yourself. And we can even see in the scene how he spent most of that time wracking his brain for Donnie's cure- and apparently, beating himself up to focus on what he was supposed to do.

And sense of humor? That's your argument? Seriously??! I never said some of that stuff wasn't funny- but yeah, it IS pretty low on the scale of intellectual observations, no matter HOW you slice it. And nobody over the age of four would name their toes- which kind of proves the point of his level of mental maturity and intelligence. Heck, he was even sitting with a bucket over his head, WHILE he was supposed to be navigating the Shellraiser- and MISSED their turn by three blocks! Nope, nothing dumb about that....

Edit: added another thought or two.

okay....I think you're being a little harsh on Mikey.....

he is immature his bio says it....
so he names his toes XD it lasted literally 10 seconds
and again he has trouble focusing! he gets bored easily! he had the bucket on his head because he was bored!

haven't you ever been so bored that you did stuff you wouldn't normally do? like just lay halfway on the couch or something?

I know he has his dumb moments but he's seriously not that bad.....:ohwell:

it was roughly only 17 dumb moments...and some of those were so quick you barely noticed them.

exactly.

yes this series gave him his dumb moments, but most everything else is just him being himself. and its pretty commonly accepted now that this mikey has adhd. so moments that may seem like dumb to people are actually him just not paying attention or being bored

Sure, Mikey may have his dumb moments, but he himself isn't dumb. He just isn't able to pay attention. His attention span is just short. That's it.

But when he DOES pay attention, he's at his most dangerous. You're talking about someone who immediately threw shrunken directly at Shredder AFTER getting knocked and rolled away.

I remember him beating his head all over the place in in effort to focus on pain instead of the effects of the bite mark. but yes Mikey is my 2nd favorite character and he oftens has is blonde moments to be sure. IDW being the exception lately. But yes I'm with Babyturtle on his truly dumb moments, other times he is doing it simply for attention like 2K3 did with Raphael. Its one trait the two seem to share, to be recongnized as an equal amoung the Family. Hopefully not hammed up or overplayed as 2k3 was.

man I loved that XD he's also

1) got Shredder with his kusarigama in a creative way~
2) learned Bradford's kata and used it against him (that must have been embarrassing)
3) totally kicked some purple dragon butt without even looking!

Again- it wasn't the passing out part- it was the fact that he couldn't even retain a set of basic instructions! Not even for ten minutes! Geez, do I have to paint a picture?!

There's a MAJOR difference between being immature and bored, and just plain acting stupid. There were more than just those 17 "moments"- heck, I counted at least five of six more in just Parasitica. Sure, most of them are funny, but they are also clear indications that the writers have turned Mikey into the hands-down dunce of the group.

And I'm sorry, but I've never been bored enough to put a bucket on my head and spin around 'til I'm dizzy while I'm supposed to be READING A MAP! Seriously, I think you guys are missing the point that these are things that a normal, fully cognizant individual would know better than to do. Things like that are the reason the Darwin Awards were created..... It's not a question of whether he's ADHD- that's never been in doubt. But he's clearly ADHD with a LEARNING DISABILITY! And some of us simply find that a sad misuse of his potential as an established character. If he's never been made out as that much of an idiot before, why do it now? Because it's funny? Sorry, but that's not a good reason to make him the village idiot.

:( he's doesn't have a learning disability...just ADHD (unless that counts as one..??) and he's NOT an idiot.

Symptoms of ADHD

There are three different categories of ADHD symptoms: inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity.

Inattention may not become apparent until a child enters the challenging environment of school. In adults, symptoms of inattention may manifest in work or in social situations.

A person with ADHD may have some or all of the following symptoms:

Difficulty paying attention to details and tendency to make careless mistakes in school or other activities; producing work that is often messy and careless
Easily distracted by irrelevant stimuli and frequently interrupting ongoing tasks to attend to trivial noises or events that are usually ignored by others
Inability to sustain attention on tasks or activities
Difficulty finishing schoolwork or paperwork or performing tasks that require concentration
Frequent shifts from one uncompleted activity to another
Procrastination
Disorganized work habits
Forgetfulness in daily activities (for example, missing appointments, forgetting to bring lunch)
Failure to complete tasks such as homework or chores
Frequent shifts in conversation, not listening to others, not keeping one's mind on conversations, and not following details or rules of activities in social situations
Hyperactivity symptoms may be apparent in very young preschoolers and are nearly always present before the age of seven. Symptoms include:

Fidgeting, squirming when seated
Getting up frequently to walk or run around
Running or climbing excessively when it's inappropriate (in teens this may appear as restlessness)
Having difficulty playing quietly or engaging in quiet leisure activities
Always being 'on the go'
Often talking excessively

this is how he acts.....this is something he needs to improve on, gosh...give him a chance to grow...
and yea I understand Mikey has some dumb moments...but most of them are just his hyperactivity and lack of focus and that's that....

maybe I should slow down XD....I'm getting way to defensive....(he is my fav character)

My problem is that that list of symptoms described literally every kid I knew growing up, including myself, to various degrees. It can be almost like "seasonal depression"; lots of people get to feeling down when it gets dark at 4pm and it's freezing cold outside; not all of them need to take pills to "fix" it. Some do.

I know for a fact some people do have ADD/ADHD; a few of my friends' kids have it, some of them fairly severe, and it's pretty obvious they're not quite like everyone else. I also know a lot of people who were diagnosed yet show none of the compulsive symptoms; some of them were just really hyperactive kids or teens but otherwise totally normal. They like the pills, because heck, who doesn't like amphetamines, but some have admitted to me they really feel like they were misdiagnosed "because the medication made it easier for their parents and teachers to handle them". There's certain "tics" that often distinguish between the actual disorder, certain compulsive behaviors the person afflicted really can't control.

The problem is that pretty much any doctor can give a diagnosis of ADHD, but many of them aren't actually able to properly test for it in the first place. So it becomes a kind of "catch-all" diagnosis, which is problematic because there is a distinction between those who really have it, those who have it to a lesser degree, and kids who are just hyperactive. For one thing, seeing people who have been diagnosed yet appear perfectly normal makes others completely disbelieve in it, which is why it's so controversial.

It's real, but it's over-diagnosed. And some of Mikey's behaviors go beyond it; I think the writers just use it as a catch-all to explain all his quirky and less-than-bright behaviors, and everything in between. And frankly, he would have been self-diagnosed anyway, which means nothing. What doctor, honestly, would ever have tested and diagnosed him? WebMD? Doesn't count. I think the writers just decided to make him "a type" and play it really aggressively, adding the ADHD description as a way to avoid criticism.

yea they made me crazy hyper XD
(and I love it! Mikey is fun to watch lol)

but just like Raph is learning to control his temper during fights....Mikey seriously needs to learn how to focus in on the situation

I do think this show is focusing at least a little bit on character development. I'm betting each of them grows and changes a bit between now and the end. At least it seems like it and I hope so.

I'm a little sensitive to the ADD/ADHD debate because my wife was misdiagnosed when she was younger and the pills gave her all kinds of problems. She has no problem paying attention to things or understanding them, if anything she's shown a marked improvement in the decade-plus she's been OFF the meds. She has a short attention span for things like conversation, but she can sit through a four-hour movie no problem and remember it perfectly. Stuff like math she was never great at, but lots of people aren't. Turns out it was more or less, her parents thought she was a pest when she was a young teen and had her diagnosed so they could put her on pills and get her out of their hair (I've since met their doctor and he's the kind who just gives people what they ask for). Her mom is the type who thinks there's a pill for every one of life's problems, so it's easy to see why they did it. But she had bad mood swings and trouble sleeping when she was taking the pills.

I was bad at math (still am) and wander into my mind when someone is talking to me. (it's actually an awesome ability! especially when you don't care for what they are talking about)
and I'm bad at instructions. XD I was also hyper as a kid (I'm still hyper)

but my parents never thought I had ADHD or something. (probably cause my little brother was 100 times worse) XD

but yea...some kids even teens are just hyper it's got nothing to do with ADHD or ADD.....doctors should be careful with that..giving pills out like that is bad.

Mikey on the other hand...doesn't need pills...but seriously needs some practice listening XD

Some people might think I have some tic, because sometimes I avoid eye contact when I'm listening to someone. The truth is, if it's something really important, it's just easier for me to really let their words sink in if I'm not subconsciously studying their facial features, if I'm *really listening* and not *looking*. Weird, I know. Part of me is always trying to sketch people in my mind.

I've actually found I focus better when my attention wanders. Keeping focus and my line of sight glued to you 100% makes it easy for me to day dream and easily ignore anything you say, I found my niece to be the same way as well. Her teachers thought she suffered from ADHD but learned she is paying attention and is just incredibly bored with what isn't particularly interesting. Till this day they insist she is cheating on her test and keep trying to find ways to get her in trouble. Jokes on them, the Principal is quite aware of her habits and quirks.

I too love this series. A couple of things I find it has done so well:

* Splinter's sense of humour. Love his characterisation, and interaction with the Turtles.

* My 4 year old and 6 year old sons LOVE this. Independently of anything I might like about it. So, for a cartoon to appeal both to young children on some level and a 33 year old (kid at heart) is major kudos to the creators.

* Turtle personalities. Donnie gets a little annoying, but I've no complaint about the others, not even Mikey. He's rather amusing.

There's loads more, but these things immediately came to mind when reading through this thread.

Well, it is only the FIRST Season, and hopefully as the show progresses, this will become a less prominent issue.

That's highly unlikely in my opinion. If there's one thing I've learned about TV, is that if a stupid character is funny, chances are that they ll make said character even dumber as the show evolves.

Look at Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Spongebob and Patrick and Heffer from Rocko's Modern Life. Those characters started off as not too bright but as their respective shows went on, they devolved into complete retards.

And this TMNT incaranation as awesome as it is, is still a Nicktoon. So yeah

That is truly one of the worst shows on TV, along with Avengers Assemble. To the original poster, glad you enjoy the show. It's already knocked 87 show down to 2nd place for me.

The 2003 cartoon is the best for me because of good writing and expanding on the Mirage storyline. However, I think the 2012 cartoon has knocked 87 down to 'third'. I still love the 87 cartoon but the 12 cartoon knows when to take itself seriously (for the most part). The jokes don't involve fourth wall breaking and constantly having the turtles act like superheroes. Next Mutation will ALWAYS be in last place!

i really preferred the passive donnie. i liked how he didnt get involved with too much teasing with his brothers and never lost his calm attitude. he was my favorite 2k3 turtle.
i understand the new take on donnie, making him a bit nerdier, but i just personally prefer the other. also dont care for his redesign, but again, i can understand why they did it.

As for him being weaker, yes he is, but hasnt he always been? hes still a good enough fighter and he helps the turtles out more than any of them with what he builds. just the breaking staff has gotten a little annoying...( i realize this has nothing to do with your quote but i didnt want to double post, hope you understand :))

Despite the passive nature of 2k3 he seemed easily more irriated than 2k12 which is hilariously ironic. 2K3 is more like my friend who despite being very opinionated, he would let alot of stuff blw over him as if it wasn't worth his time. Any time he did express his opinion or have a sarcastic remark was very rare.

I agree with ElectricN. I actually like 2k3 Don. To me, he's more compassionate and the most none violent turtle. He reminds me of his 2nd movie incarnation. Also, despite being the most non-violent turtle, he knows how to handle himself.

As much as I like 2012 Don, I will admit that I kind of dislike when he becomes a stereotypical nerd with his humor attributed by over-explaining facts where the other turtles don't understand or getting easily defeated in a battle either by the other turtles or a monkey. My little brother, who is a big fan of Donatello, admits that he dislikes him in this show because of these things. That and how socially awkward he can be around April.

Is this the thread where we just basically take it in turns to slag all the characters off?

First Mikey, now we're laying into Donnie.

I suppose we'll then be talking about Leo being too highly strung and boring all the time and how he doesn't know how to have fun.

And how Raph 'conquered' his temper problem in episode 3 yet is still Mr Grumpy Face all the time.

Sit down, cross your legs, say hummmmmmm and find your happy place of tranquility.

Raph is a great fighter and seems to care about protecting his brothers the most

Leo is learning to be a great leader! but is sometimes awkward and dorky! (which is funny)

Some fans that prefer the 2012 show are really making it hard for me to keep liking this show because of either how much they talk bad about the other two cartoons or not seeing the flaws others have with this cartoon. As fans, we should be allowed to talk about what we like and don't like about a cartoon as long as it's not too much nitpicking. The moment someone dislikes how they portray Mike or Don, someone else jumps to their defense by insulting the 87/03 interpretations ("None of the 2k3 turtles had personalities." Uhh...what?!). When people say such things, that causes mixed reactions to others. That's just honestly how I feel.:-?

So you hate this show just because other people have different opinions about the other two shows? Okay, that makes no sense. I don't like 2K12 better than the other two shows. I like all of the shows for what they are, but you have to admit that 2K3 had flaws. I was just saying that the Don centered episodes for 2K3 never held my attention and the 2K12 Don centered episodes keep me entertained, and that's because of the writing. I agree that this cartoon does have certain flaws, but they aren't enough to make me stop watching the show. I'm sure as it progresses and when I look back on it a few years from now, I'm going to see more and more flaws for this show as well, though it won't cause me to say I out and out hate it.

The 2K3 Turtles did have personalities, but they were bland at best and only showcased one thing about them while the Nick show showcases more than just the core personalities we know about the Turtles. So that's my take on it. You can disagree all you want, but don't base your love of a show just on what others say about it. That's stupid.

LeotheLateBloomer
09-15-2013, 03:28 AM
It's not really the show that's the problem, it's fans who tend to jump to it's defense by attacking the other two shows which is unfair.....a lot like fans of the 80s cartoon. I won't let others change my opinion of this show like you said but as a TMNT fan, we can point out certain aspects of this show we may not like such as overplaying Mikey as a fool.

BubblyShell22
09-15-2013, 07:31 AM
Well, my advice would be to ignore those people and move on. Not everyone's going to like everything about a certain show. Believe me, I wasn't attacking 2K3 or hating on it. I was just pointing out flaws, which is a bit different than just out and out attacking a show.
