In fact aside from Splinter, almost all the characters in the 4th movie look like 18 year old versions of their Nick selves.

This means a few things, then. April eventually ends up with Casey and the first T in TMNT doesn't stand for Teenage. Also, Splinter shrinks and his fur changes pattern. Also, Karai gains an Asian accent. Hmmm... okay, things are sorta starting to fall apart now...

I agree with him anyway - they do look very alike. And not because they're both Mikey either as different versions of the turtles do look different, as we know.

I think what I mean is they look similar when they talk and make various facial expression. It's like they have that same kiddie toon quality, as opposed to the facial expressions of the 1990 Mikey or the 2K3 Mikey.

Btw: Even though I am commenting on Nick Mikey's appearance, I actuall haven't watched the Nick toon. What is that thing he is wielding? Have his chucks been censored once again?

It's called a kusarigama. His nuchucks can turn into it. Sometimes he fights with it, other times his nunchucks.

And...I can kind of see where you're coming from with the facial comparisons, in a way. But other then that I don't really see how 2007 Mikey and 2012 Mikey look all that similar.

I generaly think the cgi movie was a big influence on the animated series even down to the fact of Nickleodeon wanting to make a cg based cartoon version.

The '07 movie did popularise the turtles having quite different heights and body and facial builds to help tell them apart which the Nickledeon series have ran with. Even down to the oversized limbs (which harken back to the original Mirage look) seems to be from movie.
