View Full Version : Will we ever get any episodes taking place outside of NYC where the Turtles travel?

Whether it be to Dimension X, to Japan, to Northampton, or to Europe....the Turtles always travel outside of NYC in the various cartoons/comics.
Yet in the Nick show they've stayed firmly in NYC. While there's probably going to be a Dimension X adventure this season, I'd also like to see the Turtles visit Japan to see where Hamato Yoshi once lived. I'd also love to see them take tours of other countries against like in the original toon and Archie comics.
Perhaps Nick's Casey also has the old farmhouse in Northampton and they can go there for a while too.

I'd assume...

I like the city.
Let's not go to that boring old farm again (Mirage/First movie) ...whose owner was Casey's aunt or grandma or something.

In the movie it was owned by April funnily enough. Its in Mirage and 4kids that it was owned by Casey's family.

They're doing a crossover with the OT, remember?

I would like to see them go to japan for sure. I think Northampton and Dimension X are a given, at least I hope.

Is that really Time travel? I thought that was more along the lines of Dimension hopping? Because if thats Time travel I have alot of questions.

Given how a whole mess of things in season one seem expressly designed to allow the creators to get away with designing as few things as possible, I'd say it looks unlikely. I think that the most we can expect to get is something like the Battle Nexus in "The Big Brawl"--one place which can serve as the setting for an medium-to-long arc--that and maaaaaybe someplace like the farmhouse.

I have a feeling they'll travel to Dimension X at some point in the series. I'd love to see them visit Japan and see where Splinter grew up as Yoshi.

I really like this suggestion Cybercubed.
I think we can assume that if the Kraang are planning world domination, they will have bases worldwise.
And we could get some funky mutants friends/enemies for the turtles from where the Kraang experimented on the local wildlife.

Time Travel would be fun.
If it ends up like Dr Who the turtles will be visiting London an awful lot.

Japan is confirmed so far all TMNT(OT ,2003 Mirrage) have them go to Japan. Dimension x is also confirmed as they traveled in both IDW and the OT and since it exists in the current Nick cartoon they will travel there for sure. About other countries we dont know yet. Only in the OT they went to more countries than New York and Japan.

I don't need to necessarily see them travel outside of the country but I do hope they leave the city for a little while. Either that or have them go to different parts like maybe Central Park or somewhere else.

I agree with this guy. The budget is so low the Turtles jump across the same rooftops and fight in the same warehouses episode after episode. They'd have to amp the budget to be able to afford all her backgrounds. The only way to cut costs is to have them stuck in Japan/Dimension X/wherever all season or half a season, and I know that'd gonna kinda suck.

It be nice to get Northampton for atleast a half season or so.
If the show does well enough I hope they improve the budget.

You know, I don't even know if an issue is the budget itself or the way they use it. I mean, has anybody seen Beware the Batman? If you look at that show's version of Gotham City and compare it to TMNT's New York, you'll notice that TMNT's city--at least those blocks we regularly see--looks way nicer. However, it's also kind of obvious that the series can't maintain that: once an episode leaves those city blocks, the lair, or any other place we regularly see, there's a very noticeable dip in background quality, with some places, like the Kraang base in episode two, looking downright abstract. With Batman, however, everything seems more or less uniform, and it seems to have paid off with the ability to render a whole lot more things in a shorter amount of time, and thus tell a wider variety of stories. The budgets of both shows may indeed be considerably different, but one can tell that the creators also have different priorities, and they show.
So I guess the question is: would y'all have preferred things like a less detailed lair if it had meant a wider variety of locales/scenarios?

^ Yeah, if they didn't spend so much time in the lair.
Japan sounds cool, but I think it's a bigger possibility we will see Dimension X.
