Season 2 Speculations

With season two soon approaching all we can do is wait and wonder what is going to happen in season 2.

What we know will be happening in season two.


The OT turtles will have a Camo role
Casey Jones will be appearing
There will be a triangle between Donnie/April/Casey
According to Rob Paulsen it sounds like Donnie and Casey will be Frienemies.
Baxter Stockman will be turned into a fly
A whole boat-load of new mutants will be appearing such as Tigerclaw, Squirrelnoid, Sir Malachi, and I.C.K.
Timothy the Pulverizer who is now the mutagen man will become a villain.
Neutralizer will have a speaking role
Thousands of Ooze canisters will be scattered through out the city.
We will see the Turtle's bedrooms (or Mikey's room at least)

Some speculations I have is that we will:
Have a Christmas or holiday centered episode. This is possible seeing as there is a screen cap of the city of new york covered in snow. So it would make sense it has some hints of Christmas even if all we see is small clip of a guy in a Santa Suit standing in a department store window.

Kirby is going to become a mutant. This has sort of been confirmed since there is an action figure called Kirby Bat showing up in and someone at the toy company has stated this will in fact be Kirby O'Neil. I am not going to confirm or deny this until we see it in show.

More development in the brotherly relationships with the Turtles. We've seen a lot of Donnie and Mikey development, some Leo and Raph development, we're only starting to get glimpses at the almost oil and water chemistry between Raph and Donnie. And we've only seen hints at the chemistry that Leo/Donnie, Raph/Mikey/, and Leo/Mikey pair ups.

Weapons Origin. Seriously if we have a flash back into the Turtles lives. The first one at least should be of them getting discovering their trade mark weapons. This has never been done in any incarnations and it would be cool to see them receive their weapons for the first time.

Individual development as characters. I think this goes without saying.

April developing more as a character While I agree that it's only been one season and we weren't going to learn all we wanted to learn about April. I can't deny there were some missed opportunities where April could have bonded with the other Turtles or developed her own character.

The Turtles (and Co) eventually having to evacuate the lair Panic in the Sewers has suggested their subterranean home is not as safe as it had been before. And the season finally did hint that the Foot have some idea as what area of the sewers the turtles are actually living. So what is to stop the Shredder from personally going down there with an AK47. If the Turtles have to abandon their home it will have to be close to if not apart of the season finally itself.

A plausible place to put it is first half of the season finally or raise the suspense with season two end with the Turtle's returning to their lair after defeating the Shredder and maybe one of them (Likely hood it will be Donnie or Leo.) notice something amiss and just as the turn to warn their family the Lair explodes. Then the second half of the finally or beginning of season three will focus with April and Casey struggling with the fact that their mutant friends are gone and then learning their friends had miraculously survived.

i really hope to see the turtle interactions develop (i like the way you layed that out). would like to see the leo/mikey interaction and donnie/raph interaction. its done so often that leo/raph, donnie/mikey, and raph/mikey that i kind of dont like seeing those interactions as much. when leo and raph argue, i know its a major dynamic, but it kind of gets old.

Lets see Leo and Donnie butting heads for once. I know this is being done in the IDW series, but in the cartoon series there has never been any major disputes between the two calmer turtles.

I think a good dispute would be concerning Donnie's desire to restore the Pulverizers humanity, particularly if April's dad is also mutated. It's unknown if it's possible to return those who have been mutated back to normal. And even if it is possible this is still a task that is extremely taxing for a 15-16 year old turtle to do on his own. In some episodes it has been hinted that Donnie will treat eating and sleeping as optional when he's focused on something. I can see the tension in the dispute will center around Donnie's need to do this task because he's responsible for it. And Leo's concerns about how this task may actually destroy his brother all together before it's even completed.

Here are mine:

- Splinter becoming human temporarily by an anti-mutagen designed by Donatello. It'll be a chance for him to reveal to Karai that she is his "true" daughter.
- Karai realizing the truth and the Shredder's lies.
- April learning more ninjutsu as a kunoichi
- Bradford's/Dogpound's origin story: how he became a star, and how he had be trained by Shredder.

An episode sort of like "Tales of Leo" is featured, but the episode is centered around a different turtle then Leo.

For instance maybe Donnie risks his life protecting April or one or all of his bros or both. And is seriously wounded as a result. Everyone is at a loss of what to do until Splinter suggests that talking to a loved one can bring someone back from Death. Everyone is skeptical about it but all of them start reminiscing about a point in time where Donnie had actually helped them (it doesn't need to be Turtle Tots, it can be a nice story scene that would work better as a memory then an actual episode.)

And heres an idea, underwater battle with Fishface, the Turtles can beat Fishface on land no problem. Heck Donnie himself has pwned Fishface twice, and Dogpound once. But maybe Xever is more lethal in his actual element.

Interesting but all together unlikely. Jahanna is more likely appear and profess her love for Donatello then Irma becoming Renet.

Again this is a kids show, and I don't think sterilizing one another is a going to be on the lesson plan.

I'd say a good speculation is having Splinter joining his sons in the more serious battles.

Casey will develop a crush on April, making Don have a love/hate relationship on Casey. April may eventually tell Don that she likes him only as a friend, and it could break his heart.

Slash will be part of the team until Leo finds him a threat. With Slash joining in Raph's arguments, someone on his side can change the plan(s) and put the team in danger. Eventually, Leo will tell Slash to stay behind, causing the super-mutated turtle to join Shredder.

We may see more Leo and Don bonding. I'd love to see that. But, if we want them to butt heads, then this specific episode should start off with them arguing over nerdy things - things they can agree to disagree on. But as soon as Donnie tries to bring back Timothy (Pulverizer), things may heat up between the two, until Leo realizes just how important this is for Don. But imagine if Don gets what he wants, but it fails. Then he's going to need Leo by his side.

Leatherhead has spent a very long time in Dimension X... He's proven that he's a skilled survivalist, and he's demonstrated his intellect through his speech and the sophisticated traps he'd built to protect the power-cell... While he's already an excellent warrior, I believe this experience will have only improved his skills.

One of the younger turtles runs away from home for an episode. The others at first don't act concerned because this is something that has happened before and the said Turtle always crawls back hours later. However as the hours pass the other Turtles begin to grow concerned for their brother and go out looking for him.


Donnie's pacifism is explored more. Donnie's pacifistic nature was hinted at in Metalhead. But unlike other incarnations where it was a more established part of his character. Donnie in this version seems to struggle with that part of himself.

Also in Pulverizer Returns I don't know about anyone else, but I was left with the impression something in Donatello was broken or certainly had shifted in his psyche. However we don't know what it was or what effects it may have on the brainy turtle. It may have some connection to his pacifistic nature, or it may be something else entirely.

Maybe the same thing will happen with Donnie and Timothy. He'll grow arms and legs and Leo will see him as a danger and Donnie will be all, "I can handle him." Then Timothy sees April, instant attraction and gets all King Kong on her ass (wants to sit on a skyscraper holding her in his tentacles) and goes after her. Once on the surface Casey comes to her rescue.

We kind of know every ones plots this season except Leo's,or at least hints of them. With Karai on the poster, hope that's his plot :D

I could kind of see him butting heads with every one though this season if he's going to be more of a risk taker after the final. Awe guess I'll wait and see :)

Than if Karai plot continues on where we left off I'm going to sume things get intense for him as the season goes on :)

And hopefully beyound "annoying kid brother" image he has been labled with as of late. My cousin who just started watching the TMNT 2k12 for the first time was surprise when I told her Mikey isn't silly or dumb in other versions (or at least not to this extent)

Perhaps the whole love triangle could lead into Donnie and Leo butting heads.

Leo is the only turtle who understands what it's like to be heart broken. Or at least what it's like to have his heart ripped out of his chest and stepped on by the person who was the love interest. And he wouldn't want that same pain to be felt by any of his brothers.

So maybe he starts dropping hints that maybe it would be better if he didn't pursue April so much because he doesn't want him to get hurt.

And Donnie takes this the wrong way and believes that Leo is telling him to give up on April because he doesn't have a chance with her.

This will lead to some tension between the two calmer brothers...but also into some bonding moments as well.

Donnie maybe leaves the group temporarily. Either abducted, seriously injured, runs away from home, or maybe magically transported into the future. In this this Turtles realize how much an important part of the team Donnie actually is.

They all have their important roles to play, but if you think about it. If you remove Leo, Raph, and or Mikey from the group equation he the group will still function. Not quite as well will all four, but they will still function as a team. If you remove Donnie on the other hand it's only a matter of time before everything falls apart.
