Have any of you ever gone to see the Coming Out of Our Shells concert? If so, what was your experience like when you went.

Yeah, I went when they played at Six Flags Great Adventure. I think I was 8. It's hard to remember a lot of it, beyond it being super-cheesy, but it was fun. All the kids dug it, it was just cheesy dumb fun like the stunt shows they put on there. Nobody took it too seriously and everyone seemed to be having fun. Me and my friends were in front of the stage, which was cool. I actually liked the album itself; I was one of the few who didn't think COOTS was the worst thing ever done with TMNT (that would be a tie between "Turtle Tunes" and "We Wish You A Turtle Christmas", obviously).

I too really like Coming Out of Their Shells. Never went to one but had the VHS and audio cassette. Played them til they were worn out, lol.
I dont care what anyone thinks. Some of the songs are actually really good like Count on Us and No Treaties.

Agree with your last sentence. I was always a person who preferred my turtles to be dark and gritty but this and TMNT 3 were always guilty pleasures. I mean, how can anyone not like Pizza Power? This came out in 1990, right? I probably would have been too young to see it since I was 3 that year. I really wished I did, though. 1990 was the year the turtles popularity was at it's peak.

Agreed. First saw them on Larry King's NBC special. That's what got me liking TMNT, playing as a band.
I also like Sweer Surfing.

My dad took me to see it. I was six at the time, so needless to say it scared the **** out of me when Shredder said he'd locked the arena down and we were all his prisoners.

I never went to see it live, but I do like most of the songs from it. I have many of them on my iPod...and my oldest son knows all the words to "Cowabunga", like I do...

 I vaguely remember that part. I also remember nobody buying it since we were in an outdoor open-roof arena, but everyone played along anyway. Kids were less cynical back then, amIright?

I loved it, but keep in mind I was in third grade at the time. I played that cassette tape every day.
