View Full Version : Will mutated Baxter be able to talk?

One thing that bothers me is half the Nick mutants can't even speak. They're treated like mindless monsters rather than actual characters. My big fear now is that fly-Baxter will be another mindless beast, unlike the semi-coherent mutated fly-man he was in the original toon.
Baxter Stockman is a pivotal character in TMNT lore, he was able to speak as a fly in the original cartoon, and it would make his character much more interesting if he can talk.
I really hope Baxter is like Dogpound/Fishface/Spiderbitez rather than like Kirby-bat, Cockroach Terminator, and the others.

I'm sure they'll make him talk, especially since he's a well known TMNT character.

I mean, they let him keep his sweater, so I would think speech is likely to stay

I was thinking about the voice actor too, but then again the voice actor who is playing Kirby won't be able to do any more lines for the character until he's demutated...if that ever happens.
They probably want the voice actor to play Baxter too, so I hope he can talk.

I certainly hope so. I'd be totally bummed if he turns out Mute.

I'm sure he will XD who else is gonna shout DOOM!!
I certainly hope so, personally I find it already bad enough they had to turn him into a fly.

Oh yeah, I'm sure he'll be able to talk. I'm thinking most of the mutants besides Kirby Bat and the squirrelinoids will probably be able to.

It would stupid of them not to let him still talk.

Could it be something like different mutagen recipes? Every mutant after Spyroach seemed to lack speech capability (Mutagen Man, Newtralizer, Mutant wasp, Kirby-Bat).

Pizzaface, TigerClaw, and Newtralizer will all talk.

We can be sure BaxterFly will talk, if only for the sole reason because BaxterFly talked in the Fred Wolf show.
Pretty much bullsh*t though... if you become a mutant bat you lose your mind, but not if you become a mutant fly?

Well the turtles were just turtles and they can talk. They have said that the mutagen is unpredictable in our dimension, though I still wonder how it works in dimension X.

Basically if the writers want the mutant to talk, they talk, if they don't they're mindless.
Yeah it doesn't make sense but since the target audience is 6 years old I doubt they care to explain the difference.

Maybe it's trauma of the mutation?
Then again, didn't they say that the mutagen's Dimension X origins left it unstable in out dimension and thus it had different reactions...i.e. it's a huge MacGuffin.

Even though 4 out of 4 Turtles mutated exactly the same way. 4 out of 4 seems like a pretty good, stable ratio to me.

It's cartoon science, you don't have to explain it!

I'm sure Baxter will be able to talk since he's one of the top villains out there.

Do we know that Kirby won't regain his ability to talk? Like some other father-figure bat mutant of Turtles past?

Danny Trejo has been cast as Newtralizer, so we know he'll talk at some point.

That's a good point. BatKirby has way, way more in common with BatSplinter from Volume 3 of the comics than Wingnut.

Newtralizer doesn't count since he's supposed to be some sort of convict from Dimension X...
And Andrew, counting Splinter, wouldn't that be 5 out of 5? I'm surprised the Kraang haven't tried to capture the Turtles based on the fact that they seem to be the only perfect mutants, maybe to study them and re-create the original Mutagen formula?
