I voted for the Movie Star action figures, just because I loved how they were made bendable, and you could pop their heads into their arm sockets and whatnot!

I absolutly love the the turtles that flip. If you read the comics, Take a look at these figs, they are a near perfect representation of kevin Eastmans original drawings in the eairly issues. Brown pads exept mask, tails, slight battle damage, boxey faces well you'll see. The only prob is they are stuck in that goofy position.

Ya, I thought those ones were sweet to. Those are the "Ninja Action" turtles. (if you were gonna vote)
But I'd have to say the Movie star turtles are my favourtie. They're so detailed, and they just look so cool!!! The only problem was the elbow and knee pad things were the same colour as their bandanas, and in the movie they were dark brownish.

I, probably like most people on this site, grew up with the original '88 series, so I had to go with them.

did they ever make movie star shredder, keno or tatsu?

Playmates produced a Super Shredder from TMNT 2, but never a regular Shredder. Keno and Tatsu were never made either.

how bad ass would a TMNT movie #1 shredder be? he was so striking, he could kill you by looking at you if he wanted.

I think it would be cooler if they made a Danny figure for TMNT 1

No doubt. I always wanted movie versions of Shredder, Tatsu and Casey Jones. Playmates eventually did a Foot Soldier, so why no Shredder or Casey?

they are the funnest to play with and there was so many of them and a ton of vehichels, the only flaw was the low arrticulation points.

Difficult to say.I haven't got many of the new figures yet but of the ones I have I'd say the new line beats the old but just barely.
More articulation, better weapons ( especially Mikey's.Original Mike's chucks always fell apart if you bent them. The plastic connecting them was extremely weak ) and better sculpts.

how can it be that, aside from nastalgia, that the original four turtles were better then the new ones? Ok, I do know, its your opinion to prefer one over the other, but id like to know what it is you feel would make for a better figure? The pads are brown, an improvment, the articulation is better, improvment, there is shading on the figures, cool new addition, and they have painted weapons and cool assesories that yuou didnt get with the original release. The only thing about the new figures would be the hole in their stomach for the belt, but the way I look at it, collocters wont care, and pleasure seekers (people/kids who play with or open the action figures) will now find it harder to lose the belts. This is all plesent conversation so I'd like to keep it that way, this goes for anyone who feels I offend, with the above statments. Please respect as I mentioned above that this is my opinion, and you are intitled to your oun.
Slash89 Im curious as to how you view the new figs.

even though i only have shredder and leo of the new line, i would have to say that the new line is the best. the original line wasn't that great IMO because they were too small and their arms were stubby.
the new ones are bigger, the arm articulation is wonderful and they look awesome! the only thing that bothers me is the lack of leg articulation of leo (and presumably all of the turtles).

I certinaly see where you are coming from as i myself, find the most personal value in the original turtles. They were the first, and they tie into my childhood.

Lets not forget that dispite the articulation, the new figures seem to have some major flaws with their hands. It's a pain in the ass just to get Raph's grasp on the handlebars to the Shell Cycle.
tormentedvagrant

not to forget that all of the special gadgets (excluding donnie's) strech the turtles grasps to no longer hold tightly their weapons, but i recall having trouble with this with the old figures, expecialy getting leos sowards just right, as they were loose.

Well the old figures had there flaws too. The old foot soldier stood like he had scoliosis.

i thought the old fool soldier was cool, he looked like a monkey.

Ack... I hated the old Foot Soldier fig. And I Rocksteady couldn't stand on his own, thanks to that heavy snout of his.
I'd have to say my favorite line of TMNT figures is the new one, with the Next Mutation figs a close second.

I cast my vote for the vintage figures, flaws and all. Although I am impressed with some aspects of the new line, they really don't interest me as much as the original pre-1992 figures - although I do pick up my favorite characters like Shredder.
But the vintage line is very special, even though some of their leg poses are very weird.
p.s. They are called VINTAGE not OLD!!! That is my absolute biggest action figure collecting pet peeve!!! OLD TMNT, OLD Star Wars, OLD Star Trek etc etc.
Just thought I would rant a little. Peace. :)
