Sucks! It's like, they are trying hard not to give Leo an actual arc in these type of films, why? :(

I thought Karai was going to be in the new movie. There were set photos.

According to IMDB, Minae Noji will be playing Karai. How she will be related to William Fichter remains to be seen. :)

I haven't seen the set pictures xChri5x mentioned though...

Never say never, dude. Considering how popular the character has become, it's only a matter of time till we see her on the big screen again.

Maybe it's because Karai didn't exist when the first two films were released and the third had nothing to do with the Foot?

In some iterations, Karai was Shredder's adopted daughter. So its possible that the american Shredder could've taken her under his wing when she was a child.

And I think Karai debuted as a character as the 3rd/last live action TMNT movie hit theaters. Karai was an obscure TMNT character until the 2003 cartoon, there was little to no way she'd have been in the live action movies previous, and with this new movie, you'll just have to wait and see.

Well if that is Karai in the new film, they better keep the rivalry between her and Leo :D

If you think Karai is the only means to a story arc for Leo, then I wonder how much TMNT knowledge you really have. They didn't even have a real connection until the 4kids series came along.

It's just one of my favorite arcs for him is all, would love to see it done in the live action films :D

Plus it would give him a bigger part, his lack of plots in the films are disappointing, movie three would have been perfect for him :(

Karai's been firmly cemented as one of the standard TMNT elements in recent years, so I'd be shocked if she weren't in this film or a sequel.

I really hope they drop the Shredder's-relative angle though. She's still never been more interesting than her Mirage comics version.

She's more likely to appear in a sequel. She was introduced later in the comics so it would make sense to introduce her later. I hope she's not Shredder's biological daughter though. I want to see a version that has no relation to him.

A) Not really the main villain.

B) Merely a lap dog for real main villain.

C) Weak enough for April to take out.

I'd like to see Karai be a bit more then just a node in Leo's personal arc in a live action movie. Not to mention also portrayed more competent then 4Kids Karai and Imagi karai.

Till this day I woke up in the middle of the night pondering how disturbingly stupid that an upstart ninja wannabe reporter like April was able to kick her ass.

...when did she kick her ass? I remember them clashing swords, April kicking her and running. Karai didn't even fall from that kick.

Kicking ass would be like what Shredder did to the turtles in the first movie, or what Karai did to April in the Nickelodeon show. That was nowhere near an ass kicking in TMNT.

Still, Karai in any form has to better than Vernon.
I mean really, digging him up for the new film is a waste of time.
Karai is definitely overdue for a strong live action movie.
Vernon, really, come on already. I'd rather see Vanilla Ice any day.
