We all know April is mad at the Turtles because of what happened with her dad. And we know next weeks episode is going to involve April having to encounter the Turtles again.

So will one of the Turtles have to get seriously injured as a result before she realizes that divorcing herself from them may not have been the best move?

Personally I would like the series to take it's time and have April return to the Turtles when she feels the moment is right. And she doesn't have to forgive them for what happened to her dad.

But personally I don't see the poor girl being able to live with herself if the final memory she has of any of them is of her saying "I never want to see you again."

One such example of something like this could be an attack is headed in her direction and she has no time to dodge. So at the last second one of the Turtles pushes her out of the way and takes the blow himself. Leaving April rather stunned and upset.

Stunned because someone had just got seriously injured for her sake. And since the Turtles are a second family to her, it will be like losing a loved one all over again.

And upset because she wouldn't wish the loss of a family member on anyone. Not even people who took away her own family.

I think it's when she gets hurt that she would think it's a bad idea to isolate herself from the turtles.

I don't think one of the turtles is going to get hurt for this, I think one of them will save her on a mission, most likely Donnie thus begins the rivalry between him and Casey

Yeah. If the turtles get hurt right now, she wouldn't even care.

Hell she left them alone fighting Mutagen Man, the bitch. Pardon my french. :P

The next episode is the shellacne one, not the one where Karai targets her. But I do agree that it could be a possibility. Or she's in trouble having to face Karai and knows she can't do it on her own without the guys. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

maybe......but let it be a surprise by not being Donnie.

I don't think that's true.. April has the right to be mad at the turtles, but that doesn't mean that she just stopped caring about them. I agree that it was kind of cold of her to leave them when they were fighting, but she probably though that they could handle it. They always do..

Personally I would like the series to take it's time and have April return to the Turtles when she feels the moment is right. And she doesn't have to forgive them for what happened to her dad.

If somebody gets hurt, then April comes back because she cares and is worried, not because she has forgiven them. So yeah, I think April can take all the time she wants before forgiving the turtles. It was her dad.

If somebody does get hurt, it's probably Donnie, or then it's Donnie saving April and taking a shot meant for her etc. Because April/Casey/Donnie, bleh.

I don't think a Turtle will need to be hurt for April to come back, I'm probably betting that there is going to be some plot where a villain's plans will need/involve both the Turtles and April again, and they'll realize how dependent they are on one another, OR one of April's friends (Irma or Casey) will probably become too curious about the Turtles and it will force April to intercede in the middle.

Even though I support April's position on being mad with the Turtles, what I didn't like was the show using her father as a wedge to separate them, especially so soon in the series. For April to lose her father for a whole season, finally get him back at the Season 1 finale, and then losing him again in the Season 2 premiere was a bit too cruel. (I always kind of viewed April as kind of the refuge of normalcy for the Turtles, and for her life to be so deeply impacted by it, and so soon, is making her less of a character of solace and more of a forced involvement in the Turtles' heroic missions.)

Anyways though, the Kirby mutation incident increases the heaviness/darkness of the show a few notches where April's experiences with the Turtles are not mostly adventures, but they have a small tinge of tragedy and heartache now. I don't mind this evolution of the characters and show, but I thought it was a bit too soon for April and the Turtles to have that when their friendships are still relatively new.

...Not to mention that Kirby had to be mutated, on top of an already abundant cast of mutants.

Another reason I support April's anger toward the Turtles is that she's still not that familiar with them. Of course she knows that they'll do the right thing, but it's a whole other thing to trust they'll do the right thing. It's easy for us to yell at her to get over her anger and trust them, but for her, they're still somewhat strange mutant Turtles which she was plunged to be friendly with over the course of less than a year (:-? How much time really has passed in show?). As Mikey said in an episode when April said she was their friend, "You're just saying that because we saved you. You have to be our friend now."

It's gonna take time for Nick April to fully realize and witness that the Turtles' concern for her is not just being a rescuer, not only as a friend, but also being a second family to her when she feels alone or like an orphan. Deep relationships need time and experiences to be fully formed. I mean how comfortable would any of us be in exposing and revealing our entire lives to strangers, just because they saved our lives? Of course we would be grateful, but still somewhat guarded, being unsure of their full personalities and intentions.

Stunned because someone had just got seriously injured for her sake. And since the Turtles are a second family to her, it will be like losing a loved one all over again.

Did my viewpoint in the "Mutagen Man Unleashed" thread, trigger this above statement victory angel? ;)

I really like it when the main characters make a mistake or a wrong "choice", because it shows that even the heroes aren't always right. I mean, they are always so good and win everything, so it's a nice change. Not that I want them to fail, but you know. You win some, you lose some.

I thought it was a bit too soon for April and the Turtles to have that when their friendships are still relatively new.

Yeah, poor April, so much happening to her. I like it how relationships are being expanded a bit, it can't always be immediate trust and friendship.

Yeah, the Turtles don't really seem like they're really April's surrogate family like past incarnations. Or at least not yet. Splinter has been more of a surrogate father her that the Turtles have been as her adoptive siblings.

I hope that one of them doesn't, considering they did that last season with Monkey Brains (I'm still pissed off by that one scene), But if it has to happen, please don't let it be Donnie.

I think she does view them as family, and it hurts her that they were responsible for taking her dad away. But I agree with JYX that it takes time to truly forgive someone because you have to trust that they won't make the same mistake again. I also like how the Turtles mess up and make mistakes. Seems more realistic and, as you said, Riel, it shows that heroes aren't always right and that they shouldn't be viewed as perfect just because they're the good guys.

Okay so a none of the Turtles had to get physically get hurt before April came back.

However there are clear moments that Donnie was indeed hurt by what has happened. In all the moments he's come home suffering with a broken heart, or been shown moping around the lair, heck even after he's had to essentially kill the Pulverizer. None of the other Turtles seem to notice or care.

I mean yeah we have Raph telling Donnie that "he did what he needed to do". But their is never any follow up of such as one of the Turtles asking Donnie if he's okay.

It feels more like they don't know how to help him or deal with the current situation, so they are ignoring it and hoping the problem will go away on it's own.
