And here I explain why and how much more could have been with her.

I agree she was very underrated. Being shinobi was a nice addition.
Shes the goto reason people hate Next Mutation but thats unfair. Her character was never overbearing and she was always serious about things.
NM was bad because of the painfully generic writing and was quite stupid at times.

I wouldn't say Venus was underrated, poorly written and terribly handled yes.
The idea of a female mutant turtle is an interesting one, but really it can be done without Venus. One of the things that are frustrating is that Mei Pieh Chi is named after an artwork and. It an actual artist like the rest of the turtles, she is Mary Sue'd to be extremely overpowered and is a Chinese magic-user Shinobi. Now Shinobi is just another word for Ninja, making it a wee bit silly and pathetically low researched.

To be called underrated is for someone or something to be of great quality but poorly accepted by the public.
Venus however is not that, she's poorly written.
Hence she's not underrated. The character was terrible, that is all.

Great video, but why don't you make one thread with all your videos? That's more clear imo.

As others have said, Venus was terribly written and could have never existed at all as far as I'm concerned.

QUite possibly the worst character in TMNT history. I wish I could have that entire show wiped from my memory.

Joining a board just to pimp your extremely boring youtube videos is wack.

You interrupt threads to be rude to newcomers as I see.

Venus De Milo is (IMHO) to TMNT, what Zeist is to Highlander. Her unexplained presence raises so many questions, And in general, she was a bad idea to begin with.

I never liked Venus. I don't like TNM either, but Venus is just unnecessary.

I wouldn't say Venus is underrated, she was just poorly handled, exacuted and being introduced to a show that was arleady met with a lukewarm response doesn't really help matters.

I've never really understood the Huge Hatred for the character. It's not like she was the one who 'ruined that show', or it's not like "well, if there was No Venus then the show would have been good/great." Everybody was written poorly, not just her.
And I didn't mind certain stuff. Like when a human guy went up to try to hit on her (thinking she was just wearing a costume) and asked: "So, what you got under that shell?" And Her answer: "Mace."
That's an example of a bit of dialogue I enjoyed. Maybe if they incorporated more of that kind of dialogue/banter, it would have worked out better. Instead of just doing the 'I'm from a different culture, so I mix my words up like 'toilet/sewer' and so on'. Plus I thought her costume was probably the best made one on the Next Mutation show.
The character never annoyed me in the vein of, say, Jar Jar Binks in Phantom Menace or such.

i am probably the only one who kinda likes the next mutation and would have wanted to see a 2nd season, ontop of that I do wish Venus was handled better, but eh.

I agree. The Next Mutation had great characters like Vam-Mi that had great potential, but were cut short due to Saban's immature and idiotic writing. I never had a problem with Venus. The Next Mutation was always the problem, not the characters.

Conceptually, I think she's best suited as a gen 2 turtle.

I find the most underrated aspect of Venus to be the introduction of Chinese elements into the mainstream TMNT universe, since there are relatively few Chinese ninjas compared to the Japanese. With PL no longer affiliated with TMNT, she's fair game to be re-introduced, though I prefer she'd only make an IDW cameo since there is still enough hatred for her to be introduced. Personally I feel that she's a good recurring ally with her abilities than can get the dudes out of trouble, but Venus as being the TMNT's Mary Sue is a big no-no. I've never seen a "The Most UnderRated Scooby Character: Scrappy" thread, though some deviantART member feels so due to similar "Save the heroes" reasons.

Sometimes I get the feeling that one day, people won't even bother to type out thoughts, and it will all be Youtube videos.
Unfortunately, not everyone can be the Angry Video Game Nerd or Nostalgia Critic (and even they can be a little much at times).
To discuss the topic, Venus DeMilo is hated because the first impression fans get is that she is there to make sure the superhero team has at least one female member. It seems forced to have Ninja Turtles try to meet the expecations established by the Power Rangers. If The Next Mutation writers wanted to have a strong female character, they could have used April O'Neil. In my opinion, it would have been neat to have a live action April to learn martial arts like the Archie comics April did.

Although the final episode very lackluster it focused on her and her transformation and did her some justice, there's a tread talking about the ending here
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=45868
Her shinobi magic really sets up the premise of the show, without it shredder would still be around, he turns evil again near the end but they need her to eliminate him in the beginning.

It had been said that they went through many character designs and suggestions before settling on Venus De Milo, including another boy turtle named Kirby. You can find them if you look it up.

Just another reason people hate her. It was bad enough to have a Mary Sue overshadow the main heroes, but thanks to her ridiculous "Fighting from the inside" bit (Also, I hate that trope), she forced a shift in the villains as well, making more people mad.
Personally, I don't like how Shredder's been made the ascended nemesis of every adaptation, but they could have broken the cycle in a better way than this. For example, since this was said to be in the movie continuity (It certainly acted like it was; given how inane the movies had gotten), why not just have Shredder be dead and not in the show? Problem solved.

There are too many Venus fanworks across the web for it to be a joke. Try searching "TMNT Venus sucks" on DeviantArt, and among the top results will not be a work dedicated to maintaining that assertion.
At least we still have Robot Chicken. (http://youtu.be/-WlBFrkMRKw)
If Venus is the Scrappy-Doo of TMNT, then who would be the Scooby-Dum of TMNT?
Konchadunga

The four original turtles; naturally.
I said Scooby-Dum, not Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Dum was Scooby's other relative who was regarded even lower than Scrappy was.
Also, Flim-Flam was even lower than Scrappy in the minds of most.

In case you were't aware, "The Scrappy" is TVTropes' name for widely despised characters; the people who use it here probably aren't thinking of drawing TMNT/Scooby Doo parallels all across the board.
That said, the answer is Timothy. :P

I don't think Venus was underrated, I just don't think she was handled correctly.
She could of been a very cool character as the concept of the mystic stuff is something I enjoy.
I don't think she should have been added to the bowl that the turtles came in though, that idea is probably the dumbest of the bunch.
The Next Mutation is a pretty cheesy bad show with some very cool and poorly used characters.
