View Full Version : Did anyone else find Bugman to be the most likeable "TMNT superhero?"

I've never cared for Silver Sentry or the rest of the Justice Force. Even Nobody just felt, "there" in Mirage. Let alone Stainless Steel Steve, the Metalhead, Battling Bernice and all of them. Gadgetman of course was a joke.
But Bugman was interesting to me because he was a cross between a mutant and a superhero. I wish he got a toy.

I only vaguely remember Bugman from his two appearances in the OT. He just doesn't really stand out much to me as anything but a parody of characters like Spider-Man and Ant-Man. Personally, I really liked Silver Sentry, even though he was mostly a Superman rip-off. I just liked his personality. Nobody was interesting, to me, sort of a Sam Spade/Bat-Man cross, which was very novel to me. And he made a great foil for Touch and Go.
From the comics side of things, I wish Radical had made an appearance in the Justice Force, as she would have been a great fit for the group, and her powers and character would fit well in the 03 universe. My other favorite is Nano. I don't see why so many seem to hate him- I thought he was an interesting and very sympathetic character, and was glad when he ended up in the JF. I always really liked him.

Those 2 episodes are my least favorite because I hate Mutant Bugs. I even hate Revenge Of The Fly because that episodes scared the sh*t out of me when I first saw it at age 7.

Yeah, I kinda liked the Bugman, but mostly his first episode. The 2nd episode was average at best, although the villain dressed up as Shredder and the Turtles' reaction to it was pretty funny.

Actually ... yes? Or at least up there.
Second to Nobody and Radical, though. Both of them were quite interesting the few times the writers bothered to give them characterization.

Bugman was ok, I thought he was going to be a potenticial love interest for April, but she was such a bitch to him in his second appearance he probablyt hates her. I guess April is destined to be married to her career. Poor thing.

Bugman and Rex-1 were my favorite return characters aside from Casey. As a kid and still to this day I wish they made a Bugman figure.
What series did the Justice Force appear in? Was that the 2k3 series? Were these characters part of Mirage continuity?

The Justice Force with all the new characters like Silver Sentry existed only in 2k3. Only did Nobody and the original team appearing in 2k3 (those old superheros, remember?) appear in the Mirage comics. Although I'm not sure, but weren't the events in the Dome Doom issue of Mirage hinted to be a part of Mickey's imagination?
Anyway, I find Nobody and Radical far more interesting than Bugman. Although he was cool too.

Bugman was cool, but not someone I get super excited about.
I really liked Bugman which is weird since his design is so off-putting he also had a pretty interesting origin/powers for TMNT not to mention the OT.

He's ok as a minor character. Not much partial to the character really, he's to generic.

I do love how they kept the Stan Lee alliterative naming convention with Brick Bradley.

How cool could it have been if there was a Bugman vs. Scumbug episode instead of generic swatters? There could have been a situation where Bradley dropped some of the DNA to one insect that he missed of an employee he didn't like that could have become Scumbug. Scumbug only appeared in that episode that was supposed to be a summation of many popular mutants, so it was a missed opportunity, especially since the toy was released the same year as the Bugman episode. I mostly got his love thanks to the VHS promos on my Turtles' Awesome Easter VHS. That said, it was a great homage to DC/Marvel and I find good campy entertainment watching both episodes, especially the first one.

That would've been so cool!
