Minae Noji has secret role: possible Karai in 2014 movie?!

Soap Opera Network has learned that “General Hospital” and “General Hospital: Night Shift” alum, Minae Noji, has landed a top secret role in the new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film set for release in 2014. Starring Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, rumor has it that Noji will be portraying the role of Karai, a character first introduced in the 1992 comic book series, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

According to sources, Noji was on the New York City set of “Turtles” filming for three months alongside the main cast and her role required a stunt double, which puts some weight into her portraying a character such as Karai, who is of Japanese descent (as is Noji) and one of the leading members of the Foot Clan, a ninjutsu clan best known to be controlled by The Shredder (William Fichtner). Recent iterations of the character find her related in some form to The Shredder.


Also starring in the film are Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Whoopi Goldberg as Bernadette Thompson, and Danny Woodburn as Splinter.

Reps for Paramount and Noji were unavailable for comment at press time. The film is set for release on August 8, 2014 and is being produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes, and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The last movie screwed up Karai enough... she doesn't need to appear in another one, this one is already virtually guaranteed to suck with or without Karai.

That said, it is a little bit unfortunate, since she's pretty much a picture perfect Karai.

While Shredder tends to business matters putting up a front in his double life he has his second-in-command train and lead the Foot in daily operations and she would hold a role lieke that of Tatsu in the first two films as well as Krai in a few forms of media. Is it Karai? Maybe a reworked version of her.

Really? I mean, TMNTs flaws are pretty grand, but I didn't think Karai was in it long enough to screw her up too much. Except maybe the backseat scene. And how April got the better of her in a sword fight. And... actually, yeah, those alone are pretty harsh, given how brief she's in it.

Exactly. She was a nobody in that movie. Basically just... this random woman that now led the Foot for whatever reason. And was useless once the Generals took over.

I think we matter of fact just KNOW to little yet to really judge anything here...but of course she doesn't have to be shredder's daughter in this film...she wasn't to begin with if we're looking at the facts, so....
hey, perhaps that caucasian shredder is just the chosen leader of the new york branch of the foot and karai is comming straight from japan, the homeland of the foot?
oh man, writing caucasian shredder for the first time here and it fells terrible;)hahaha

Though it could definitely be derived from her dialogue in that that she was a subordinate of his, relative or not. And it wouldn't be like they were going to go into TMNT Part 5 with the Shredder back and him playing second fiddle to her (particularly after she got beat down by April O'Neil).

Let me express myself in another way. What I'm attempting to say here is that Noji might not even play Karai in the movie. With our current knowledge, we can't say anything or come to any conclusions. Noji might just end up playing Lotus Blossom. All we now is that there will be a Japanese character in the movie. That's all.
