Question about April's Apartment

Does April's Dad and Aunt live in the same apartment but on different floors?

I think the Aunt was allowing April to continue staying in the apartment where she lives with her father. And the aunt covers all the bills or sends money to help with any needs.

It just that I'm writing a fan fic and it requires for me to know if her home and her aunt's home are in the same building because in the show, they always use the same building. In "the Mutant Situation", we see her and father and it's the same building that the turtles drop her at in "Rise of the Turtles". It could be case of not doing extra cgi animating but I was wondering if it's ok to write in the story that the homes are two different apartments.

It's very elementary my dear watson. Our April is a human satellite dish that can only receives human emotions or perhaps mental energy of this universe. This mere speculation but it is highly likely that reason how she can do it is because she has super human electroreception. We have already seen April "hearing" Kraang transmission which is again just like a human satellite.

This power of hers is also a gene that is inherited throughout the human family tree but so far, we have yet to be sure if it just one person who show signs of this gene or (and this gets crazy but) all humans have it and only activates or "is awaken" when the person before him/her who displays it dies.

Thing is, after he'd been kidnapped, rescued etc. I can't see him being back at work due to stress/trauma. So they'd need money some how. I'm guessing the aunt might be supporting them? She probably knows something about the situation with Kirby and April's mother too, but doesn't say anything.

I'd have her down as a disapproving older sister.

Electroreception is actually common in other animals. Fish mostly but bees and dolphins have it too.

But back to the subject. It's possibly that her apartment is more of a boarding house and her aunt is the landlady that lets her stay for free due to her dad being missing. It maybe even possible that her aunt is merely a friend of the family and she only calls her aunt out of respect.

April's aunt could live in another city, it would make the most sense for her to stay with April, so she doesn't have to be pulled from school.

She says her aunt says she can stay there as long as she wants. If it was Kirby and April's place, why would the aunt be giving April permission to stay there?

And because she's still living in the same apartment in season 2, we think they might still be with the aunt. But due to time restraints on the episodes, I think Ciro said they're only allowed two locations per episode, it could also be April and Kirby's own apartment minus aunt, but they just used the same model that they used for the Aunt's flat.

It's possible April's aunt is only allowing her to stay there so it doesn't disrupt April's life more then it already is. And the aunt takes care of the bills and things.
