Hey, I just wanted to spread this information as I hadn't seen it posted anywhere yet.

There is going to be a Entertainment Expo at Gibraltar Trade Center in Mt. Clemens, MI. I've been to this place before and it's kind of...um, "trashy," but I still might go for this.

At this Expo, they're trying to break the all time record for most people dressed as Ninja Turtles. Here's the link to that info: TMNT World Record (http://tmntworldrecord.com/)

The link about the convention is here: D-Lux Entertainment Expo (http://www.dluxexpo.com/)

I live around Detroit so I'm very curious to see what this turnout will be. I've never heart of D-Lux Entertainment Group (Motor City Conventions is the big one in Detroit), but Kevin Eastman is supposed to there so it gives it a little credibility.

Anyways, figured I'd post this since I didn't see it anywhere yet.

EDIT: After reading more about this I'm kind of confused on what this convention is. I can't tell if it's a martial arts convention or toy/media convention. I think the show coordinators don't really know what they're going for.

Haha. This is hilariously exactly what I said about this show not long ago.

Here's what I've gathered as I've watched this event develop. The organizer owns a martial arts school. Last year he had Ernie Reyes, Jr. visit his school for a weekend seminar thing. It was probably a nice event and a successful one. Then he decided to do another seminar, but slightly larger. So he invited Ernie plus some other people. And them he just kept inviting people, probably figuring the more people he invites the higher the attendance and the more money he'll make. Thus, the event is evolving a bit haphazardly.

I would not recommend anyone make long distance travel plans to attend this.

Well we had in 2009 where the 25th Anniversary happened; Free Comic Book Day where the Mirage crew was there in Rochester NH. My best moment in my life. I know it says I am from Indiana; but I was born in Mass 1987-1992 and raised from 1992-2011 in NH.

There's no indication on any previous record, which I imagine probably happened at a recent Comic-Con, especially the 2012 one, so obviously despite the official Guiness logo, clearly is just setting it for money along with a lack of proof. SDCC likely had hundreds, if not thousands of those dressed in TMNT outfits, and possibly a recent NYCC as well (the only two cons I'd be willing to travel long distance, with other SoCals in there as another possibility). Overall, with Ernie Reyes Jr. and Greg Berg along with yours truly, a decent enough list to attend if you live in the Great Lakes region, but I'm going to pass on this.

Don't I know it...Arkansas's pretty much a black hole when it comes to cool stuff. I'd have to make a day trip to St. Louis or Dallas (about 5 hours to one or the other) or something for anything. Closest is Memphis, TN at 2 hours. Seriously Little Rock tends to get nada.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but there is an official record: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2012/3/cowabunga!-largest-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-gathering-world-record-smashed-in-minnesota/

Wait...I was lukewarm about Ernie and Greg, but YOU'LL be there....let me gas up the car.

Wait....you're not gonna be there...I'm so confused.

I can sympathize with you greatly there Jester. It's even worse the deeper into the void of Arkansas you go. When your town is known as the 'Folk Music Capitol of the World', just try to get cool stuff to come there. Yeah...:ohwell:

I feel for them.:P

(Though I guess to be fair, Mtn. View does have stuff that would interest some people I guess...just...not me.)

Don't feel bad, guys. I live in Indiana, and I can't go to any cons either. Closest I would ever be able to do would be Chicago or Indianapolis, and even that isn't reasonable right now though it would be cool. Nothing nearer than that though.
