Perhaps the extended wait was to ponder if they wanted to go through with this idea, we'll find out within a couple weeks if it was the right move.

Is this a permanent move? The video clip made it sounded that way. During the church hour on a Sunday? I would get a weekday afternoon or more sensible different time slot on a Saturday but why Sunday at 11? Its not making sense to me. There is always the DVR its just odd.

I'm gonna hold off on the notice that he's been mutated yet.

Donnie is heard during the preview saying: "People, we're going crazy with fear."

So it's possible that there is an episode where something happens to them and they all are visualizing their worst and darkest fears.


It did seem during the preview all of them at some point were free falling like they were in some sort of dark dream sequence. And it's possible that could be April's darkest fear. Just like the scene where April was being dragged away by the Kraang could be Donnie's darkest fear.

A/N: Upon watching the video again, that clip, that "Donnie Bat" had bats flying out of his mouth when he opened it. If that's real, heaven forbid.

The wiki version of the episode guide has the rounded viewers for each premire listed with the episode. This season thus far has an average 2.65 million viewers. It was at its lowest for episode 23 and 24 after that sudden hiatus until late July with 2.1. The hiatus I am sure had something to do with it but it was only a little less than it was getting around that time. The latter part of the first season had tappered off to the low 2.0s (with Enemey of My Enemy the exception) so its actually picked up a litttle. The next episode will be on my DVR so I guess that would count towards viewers.

It looks like the Saturday slot will now be to show the previous episode and then promo the new episode for the next day on Sunday.

Then they can repeat the new episodes on Saturday so we get the two new episodes on back to back days.

I kind of doubt they had church in mind when selecting that timeslot. I think it was more or less they figured it was the same day as the Super Bowl, and since most parents will be staying home all day for the game and the party celebrations... thus their kids will be staying home also.

While the adults watch the pre-game shows and celebrate, their kids can watch Nick TMNT on other televisions in the home (bedroom, basement, etc.)

They probably will change it back from what I'm guessing. I mean so far we only know the airing of this one episode and nothing confirmed for future episodes. Plus, Nick TMNT released new episodes before on other days (i.e. Friday) outside of their usual Saturday time slot.

Anything associated with commerce (i.e. commercials) is going to want to associate themselves with the Super Bowl in hopes of getting some "residual" viewership/publicity on that day, including Nick TMNT. I mean the 2013 Super Bowl had 108.4 million people (http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2012/story/_/id/8913211/2013-super-bowl-falls-short-television-ratings-record) watching (about 1/3 of the entire American population), so Nick is probably taking a tempting chance of higher viewership if the kids are going to stay home (more or less) that day anyways.

Well... I answered my own question. :P:lol:
If any of you are wondering why nothing was aired December 2013 and January 2014, it's because of the Sweeps period for the 2013-2014 season (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeps#Sweeps).

It explains a whole lot as to why the Nick TMNT show has such an unusual airing schedule (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_%282012_TV_se ries%29_episodes) (such as why there were July 2013 episodes aired, why the new season is delayed until mid-late October, etc.) and when we could vaguely forecast new episodes airing.

For 2013–2014, these are the Nielsen Ratings Sweeps Periods:
October 31 – November 27, 2013
January 30 – February 26, 2014
May 1–28, 2014
June 26 – July 23, 2014

Still... it is kind of unfortunate Nick has to cram new episodes in at the last minute around Sweeps, rather than airing at least a new episode here and there to take advantage of other higher viewership opportunities (i.e. the bitter cold during January 2014) and give the show a chance to attract more viewers (and gain momentum when it does come to Sweeps time) when staying at home is more alluring than going out. Meh... :ohwell: but I'm just a casual observer about this situation.

They wouldn't have made this move if they didn't see reason, so the "Kids go to church" argument is out. Kids are watching it more on Sunday, simple as that.

Well, some churches also have other services on Saturdays, so if your church does, then just go then so you can watch the episode. And if you have the Nick West channel like I do, then you can always watch the replay at 2/1c. If those options aren't available, then you can either record the episode or wait until Saturday to view it again.

I agree. Though with Raph I think his biggest fear is that his brothers and loved ones would be lost and he would be unable to protect them despite his best efforts.

Mikey yeah a fear of being left behind.

Leo a fear of failing as in leading a mission and it's his leadership that ends in the very demise of his family.

Donnie is called out as a weaker fighter by Raph mostly (Heck there was one occasion where Raph could have just flat out told Donnie he's a useless ninja) and occasionally Leo. So I can see a fear of being left behind in the sense of his brothers advancing in their ninja studies and leaving him behind in the dust. As for a fear of failure, it's would be that yes despite his best efforts, he is unable to protect April or be of any use to his brothers and is essentially kicked out of the family.

You may be in the money with that. It also feels that the parts of the trailer that are essentially two second flashes are so quick they could be anything.

So yeah Donnie falling in a portal...that could be a darkest fear episode. But that could be the start of an arc where Donnie is separated from the rest of the team. Leaving the Turtles with not only having the deal with the Foot and The Kraang and other villains without him, but also trying to find a way to get him back.

Same thing with the April being dragged off by the Kraang, it is plausible that is part of the nightmare. But it is also plausible that is something that actually happens.

My big theory (and here goes nothing!) on this creature is that this mutagen allows the creature to maintain genetic or chemical stability in a place that is hostile to it (maybe has high radiation.) It doesn't mutate the creature (or most others) in Dimension X, but once the stuff isn't in it's natively dimension the different chemicals (only found naturally in Dimension X) begin to behave differently. The stuff tries to bond together and reform genetic elements that were never native to Dimension X; depending on the Earthan creature and conditions, this could end up messily. :)

Yeah Bubbly. It'd be cool alright. We haven't gotten back to back eps since the season 1 finale, so one could argue that it's about friggin time! That's actually how they air episodes of The Walking Dead on AMC. You have the previous week's ep followed by an all new ep. Not sure how many other shows are aired in this fashion but it'd be nice to see Turtles get this treatment.
