I think it's sort of cool how even though they are all brother that each of them have a best friend within the group. You know how leonardo and donatello are best friends while Michaelangelo and raphael are best friends with each other.

I'm going to get banned because I like how don/leo are best buds and raph/mike are best buds? I didn't know having an opinion will get you banned. It's just what i noticed. I see raph and mike hang out more. While don and leo talk to each other more.

Also, you realize a lot of times the when the turtles split up. it's usually don/leo and raph/mike.??

I think it's usually....Leo and Raph and Don and Mikey....usually.

once in a blue moon its Raph and Don and Leo and Mikey

but I do agree that Raph and Mikey seem to be good buds in the Nick show, since they are always messing with each other.

I thought Mikey and Don were close.....but maybe I just think that because they always seemed to stick together when Raph and Leo were complaining XD

:3 but yea...Raph and Mikey seem to get along pretty well in most incarnations it seems.

'cept Nick. I really don't see them getting along well in Nick, sans the bedroom scene in the Squrrilanoids episode. But that would be cool if they became best friends in the new show.

they totally get along well in nick

they are always teasing each other and messing around.

you don't see Mikey constantly messing around with Leo or Don. Most of the time he's trying to get on Raph's nerves XD

as a younger sibling myself that means you want attention from that sibling.....even if it brings some pain.....XD but it's fun to do!!

I'm glad that people agree with me. I do think raph/mike have the closest bond. They're always messing with each other. don/leo are more mature though, so their bond is more of talking to each other about serious things. I think in an episode leo said that if he can trust any of his brothers that he can trust don. so that is what made me think their best buds too.

it's just a drawing of what I think each turtle relationship is of course :)

Raph and Leo have a mutual respect for each other (kinda like a rivalry)

Don and Mikey are opposites but get along well even so

Raph and Don are also opposites....but don't get along well AT ALL

Mikey and Raph mess around with each other alot

and Leo and Don are the smarter brothers and bond over that.

and the thing is it isn't even that good it's waaay more episodic that even 87 series and the villains are bland and uninteresting.
it's obviously geared for kids under 12, there's almost nothing there for older audience...

In the comics Raphael and Michelangelo are professed to be best friends, though we don't actually see a lot of that. Donatello is a bit of a recluse there and Leonardo doesn't seem to be "best friends" with anybody.

Hmmm. You're right. They either hang out as a foursome, or not really much at all. Geez, when you put it that way it doesn't make their brotherly bond sound as strong as it is in other incarnations, though they are a family. This becomes even more true in the later issues that deal with them growing up and living their own lives apart.

and there are people who actually like the Nick series. But this is a great reason too. I kind of like how the relationship between the four in the first two Turtle movies were like(seeing as how as that was my first introduction into the turtle universe) as well as the IDW universe. I kind of wonder how the 2014 movie will portray the turtles' relationship(Seeing as how this thread is on the movie section).

They are brothers though, no? Any ways, yah it's fun to see some times.

I'm always a fan of Leo's / Raph's in the newer shows, they are really close. You can see Raph cares I think the most for Leo by his reactions to what Leo does or what happens to him out of the three brothers. The rivalry also adds more to it :D

In the 2012 series I'm liking Leo's / Mikey's older brother little brother type.

I'm hoping to see mor Leo / Donnie moments, they respect each other sure but they don't interact much out of the bunch, or maybe I'm just noticing this. In movie three they had a funny moment, him getting annoyed at how good Leo can be at things like horse back ridding HA.

The only incarnation that I've seen with true "best buds" attitudes between two turtles is the first TMNT movie. Mikey and Don clearly get each other and spend time hangin' out, though that was largely a result Leo and Raph constantly arguing.

Still, I always like to think of Mike/Don being drawn to each other because they're the most laid back of the four.

2. There is no nick series movie. And there hasn't been ever. There's been 3 based off OT a general TMNT movie and even a television movie for the 2k3 series. So nick has no place here. And this thread shouldn't even be in this section.

Great rendition of their relationship! I can actually see how it might work with the other universes as well.

Personally, I think a lot of the lack of relationship continuity comes down to being raised as brothers. Any combination of siblings is very unlikely to be best buds all the time. (My brother and I were best friends when little, drifted in high school, became close buds again when I was in college....relationships flow.) It one wanted to get really heavy handed with the psychology aspect of things, I guess we could get into the reasons why Leo and Raph are more aloof depending on their birth order via nurture on behalf of Splinter and yadda, yadda, yadda....
