Looks likely considering the Michelangelo figure seems to match up with that image of the halloween costume.

I think Raph looks ridiculous...same with Donnie, looks like he's got a vacuum cleaner glued to his shell. Mike doesn't look as bad as the costume made it out to be, though.

Even though I'm not a fan of the pointless clothing, it doesn't look NEARLY as bad as everyone seems to be making it out to be. I absolutely love their builds, very solid, and from what I can see only Raph looks particularly hulked up which suits him just fine.
I just wish we could see their faces. Going from this pic, everything else about their designs I'm actually really really liking. But their faces. Until I can actually see what they look like, I remain wary.

I wish we could more of Leo. He look's closer to that CG fan rendering's some fan came up with.

So they kind of remind me of the 2003 cartoon only with more detail and clothing. What were these models used for? I like the detailing, tattoos on the shells, Don's tech stuff, Mikey's skater look, Raph's bulkiness.

they looks kinda aight... but I do wish it was like... for a scene in the movie, or maybe they can wear it during the final battle scene or something like that. Kinda wish they'd at least use their classic look for the first half of the movie or something.

Can barely tell he's white. I do wonder just how often we're gonna see Eric Sachs. Now that I think about it, Shredder was kinda cartoonish in the two movies, in the sense that we never see him like a regular guy and walked around in his armor 24/7.

Pretty impressed with the designs so far. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Hopefully the actual film does the same.
There must be some sort of alien or supernatural twist going on with Shredder. The casting and that design just don’t mesh. Anyone agree?

Holy crapola, that Shredder design looks amazing!! And I'm really digging Leo's face shot! I'm still not overly thrilled with this chin design he's got going on (and pretty sure all his bros will as well), but overall it's SO much better than I was expecting after that hideous Halloween mask.

These are by far some of the BEST looking versions of the Turtles EVER. I love it. I'm still a little iffy on the clothing/accessories, but my goodness... these are some of the coolest looking Turtles in history. I want to say Shredder looks a little too over the top, but damn does he look intimidating. Well done. Well done. As far as the look for this movie, my safe assumption, 10/10.

I hate the clothing, but Leo, Donnie, and Mikey still look pretty good. Raph's Hulk Hogan bandana and the loincloth ruin his entire design for me, though. Seriously, what's wrong with the bandana/belt/elbow and kneepad combo? It's worked for 30 years.

Yeah my guess is he starts out as a normal colonel and something happens turning him into the Shredder because it really is hard picturing William Fichtner as this beast in the pics.

01-28-2014, 07:24 PM
Wow. I kind of like them. Quite a bit. Much more than I thought I would.
My only quibbles would be Leo's chest armour, which seems redundant given his plastron. And Raph's design isn't quite as unique and distinctive as the other three turtles. I wouldn't mind something "extra" to reflect Raph's personality, although I can't really think of what that something extra should be. Maybe something that evokes Gladiator armour, like a single shoulder guard, single arm guard or leg armour? Or even a more distinctive belt?
And Shredder's design does seem a tad OTT and almost like an exo-skeleton, but it's recognisably "Shredder" which is the most important thing.

Once he puts on the amor, it's stunt double time, except for facial close-ups or any scene if the turtles happen to knock his helmet off.
Shredder's eyes look inhuman, though. I can see some red there. I don't know. I just think there's going to be some sort of alien or supernatural twist with him.

I think his size fits really well with his persona of being aggressive and somewhat of a brawler in past versions. If I remember correctly in the 2k3 show he was the only one that they showed lifting weights (bench press). Raph looks like he should try out for the New York Giants. :tgrin:

The designs don't look bad; still not a fan of the nostrils. Don't think I ever will be even if, yes, turtles have nostrils.
Out of everything, Don's cybertech gear and especially Raph's bandanna are whats killing me the most.

As I said on the Toho Kingdom forums:
Leonardo has a prettier face and eyes than most girls I know. :ohwell: Man, I wish they wouldn't have added all that extra gear. If the comics/Nicktoon try to copy that look, it won't be good for me. Shredder has a lot of armor and looks like a badass, yet he doesn't look like his body frame would be strong enough to carry all that metal. But if the fights are good, I may be able to overlook all the added gear. Yet I am still hoping at some point in the movie, they lose it. The added gear/full head bandanas (which it looks like Raph has) was one of the first major things that immediately turned me off to "Next Mutation".

The turtles in the nick toon are slightly retooled versions of what we already familiar with. I liked that because it was a fresh take on something familiar. This seems to me to be a huge leap from what I know/am comfortable with. As with most things I've encountered about this film so far: not a fan.

I do wish they weren't these big hulking monster looking turtles (really love the leaner builds of the Nick series) BUT I am a lot happier with what I am seeing than I imagined.
So, it's one of the first positive impressions I've had from what we know to-date. Another being April (thought she looked quite good, not a Megan Fox fanboy either), and the van which also seemed like a good design.
Again, wish they were less like body builders but some people really like that look, so I'll have to get over it. Also not totally sold on how they are really decking them out with clothing and gear but I'm keeping my mind open as always.
As for Shredder... again, looks like they did a good job modernizing him somewhat. Still hate that he's a white guy but again, we don't know a lot yet, can't really judge that detail till i know a lot more.
BTW... if we get lucky enough for Hot Toys to make figures from this movie they will probably look VERY MUCH like these figures... and I'd probably buy them, so let that be my final verdict on this leak.
I remember someone saying that the new designs look like Next Mutation on steroids or something, and I totally agree. Not a fan as of right now, but that's how I felt about the 2012 show as well.
That is definitely a vibe I get... with the key word being "steroids" :P But yeah, very Next Mutation-y aaaand that's not a good impression to make. However it does look better than that... as it should.
I don't know, a lot of the armory-stuff they are wearing looks really silly to me. But maybe they won't wear that stuff the ENTIRE film.

The film as a whole is more important to me than the actual designs we see here, which I can live with if the movie is as good as say, the 1990 film (hah, that would be some kind of miracle)

Still not sold on this....
Overall... I thought it be worse.
It's good to see more of what we're getting. I had a feeling the shells would be huge just based on the mocap suits.
Donnie is kinda cool... it reminds me of the later era of E&L TMNT where he's slightly robotic.
Leo is more samurai, Raph does look more 'roid wrestler...
Eh... it COULD be much worse.
I'm happy with the Nick designs and the OOTS designs in the game. Still not fully sold on these guys, but it's not nearly as bad as I imagined.
Check the other thread for Donatello.

Thank You! i think more people need to understand this. one incarnation of the turtles that you dont like doesnt have to ruin tmnt for you. theres so much out there that you can still enjoy. and with that, changes, like adding clothing to them, should really be seen as a good thing. i mean, yeah we all love the original basic designs, but this is something new and different. it keeps it interesting. and its building off of other incarnations, like taking the heights and builds from the nick show.
so yeah you may like these designs/movie, you may not, but just enjoy it for what you can as another take on tmnt

find the parts you can enjoy. maybe youll like the plot of the movie. maybe the fighting scenes. maybe the voice actors. you dont have to like everything in this movie to enjoy it to some extent. i cant name one tmnt series i love everything about, yet i still enjoy them.
and once again, if for some reason you cant find anything to enjoy, then oh well, this wont be the last tmnt incarnation. maybe youll like the next one better. in the mean time enjoy the incarnations you do like

i'm still not going to pay to see this in the theater. if the rumors and script revisions are true, "acceptable" turtle designs would just be band-aids. especially if there is any weight to Vernon having a stronger more heroic role in the film. i haven't personally read the original script or the revision (not for a lack of trying) but i have zero confidence in it, personally.
and for the record, i'm not a "hater". i've been a loooong time lurker of the technodrome, i just haven't been that active of a member. i love the shell out of TMNT. the truth is this live action version isn't my flavor, nor am i the demographic the studio is shooting for.

Is Raphael a wrestler now I mean seriously how is he going to throw a kick all bulked up like this? :ohwell:
Can't wrestlers kick?
There must be some sort of alien or supernatural twist going on with Shredder. The casting and that design just don’t mesh. Anyone agree?
I agree, zooming in on his eyes, they barely look human!
After 30 years maybe they thought of mixing things up a wee bit and keeping it fresh? I wonder how many people would be moaning about it being played safe and more of the same if it was just what you had said? My only gripe with the new costumes is that there seems to be a covering of the crotch going on. It's like the turtles all got shy!
Also, in the second pic, in the far, far back... is that a foot ninja? maybe they have a more familiar appearance to us under those racist masks?
In what way are the foot masks racist? I saw a bit of a nod to samurai masks coupled with a similar design to the immortals from 300... But nothing racist.
As I said on the Toho Kingdom forums:
Leonardo has a prettier face and eyes than most girls I know.
Yeesh, I'd hate to see the girls you know! :P
As for me, I dig these designs, they are a shell of a lot better than what I was expecting! Looking forward to this film, reckon when I go see it I'm going to have a fun couple of hours in the cinema.

First let me say I am shocked this thread is not deleted and these pics are not removed. This forum is well known to be in kahoots with the studio and acts on their behalf. Dont be shell shocked if this thread is removed.
Per a studio message from earlier:
"The Movie is set to hit theaters later this year. We want to save the excitement, so please keep any movie information – images, descriptions, etc. under wraps for the time being. Should you receive any images, please delete them. They have not been approved to be published. We really appreciate your support in this matter. "
So lets see how the drome plays its cards...
As for my personal opinions from a life long TMNT fan:
This whole concept is foreign to me and what my heart tells me is the TMNT at the movies... but I really have to learn to let that go. Coming back to the big screen will introduce a whole new generation of people to the turtles and keep them in popular culture for decades to come. We will always have the original movies and cartoons to watch... this new movie could be awesome.
The was the characters speak... act... behave... that is more crucial to me as a fan than the looks. I am somewhat certain that the turtles we have seen are in a "battle mode" and will not appear this way every frame of the film.
As for me, I will be #1 in line for the #1 public showing in North Texas. I would not miss a TMNT release for any reason. Long live the turtles. :)

From the other thread:
Ehh. Too busy. All of it's too busy and cluttered. I hate Leo's outfit a ton. Less is more.
The faces and bodies don't bother me much. The faces themselves look pretty good, actually. It all looks better than I expected, but I really didn't know what to expect. But the outfits thing is still just a solution that was looking for a problem. They could have saved a fortune on production if they kept the faces and bodies the same as they are, and just used the classic look. Animating those ugly, cluttered outfits in mo-cap had to have cost a fortune. And even if one would say their outfits are fine, were they necessary? Was anyone begging for it? I'd argue no. But as a traditionalist I'm used to being in the minority on this stuff.
Between all the outfit clutter and and Donnie's million computer monitors, so much of the visual style of the movie screams "Excess", and I'm a "Less-Is-More" kind of guy. I also think it's odd that the two concurrent versions of TMNT are going to be so contradictory; in the Nick show, they're younger, smaller, simpler, and in the movie they're apparently older, jacked-up to all hell, and wearing all kinds of crap. It's just odd to me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I just now noticed Shredder's cape thing is itself apparently made of blades. WOW, overkill. He looks better than I thought, but still... all this is just soooo much from the "Image Comics 1993" school of how to visually design characters. "Find a spot on someone's body that isn't covered, and stick some weapons and armor on there. F*ck it, it's Extreme!"
Could be worse, could be better. I just think they seriously over-designed all of them for the sake of being "new and hip". Few, if any, would have complained had we gotten something simpler.

You're totally right about the "straight out of '90s Image" vibe, and while normally I'd loathe that, I'm actually liking the way it plays with the Fred-Wolf-inspired elements in the rest of the film.
Again, it wouldn't be my first choice, but the movie being what it is, it looks like it's at least going to be totally madcap and, in the history of the franchise, something rather fresh and unique. And that at least has me more excited for it than I was before.
Leo656
01-29-2014, 12:35 AM
I think you make more money when you play it safe and keep it simple. But as others have said, it could have been worse, and also as others have said, the movie won't live or die on visuals alone, anyway.

No offense, but it seems to me that you have forgotten that the Nick show exists. is currently running, is the face of what the current generation is familiar with, and it's clearly way different that the concept presented for this movie.

01-29-2014, 01:09 AM
At least the heads are not as dreadful as we saw with the abhor-some Halloween mask, especially their cranium diameter looks more appropriate for a Turtle rather than having a bizarre alien/humanoid form. As for the faces... I need to see a closer picture of it to see the details but they're... meh, okay. At least it wasn't that atrocious phlegm color.
As for the costumes with both the Turtles and Shredder... way overkill (as Leo656 mentioned before) to visually display their personalities (I mean Donatello wearing a vacuum cleaner of sorts....huh? :-?) especially with Shredder. I mean its gonna be difficult doing complex somersaults and flips wearing all that heavy metal, or with so much distracting hanging, loose clothes with the Turtles.
As for the issue with Raphael not being able to "move" because of his big muscles... well there are some bodybuilders who can develop their flexibility and are not as "restrictive" as some might think. (There are plenty of YouTube videos of male bodybuilders doing splits, etc.)
I kind of expected these Turtles to be excessively beefed up knowing the staff behind it since everything has to be visually "loud" to get the audience's short-attention span, but the costumes are just... whaaa...? :-? Plus, looking at that Donatello model... ugh, they had to make him look anemic and scrawny, just look at how thin his arms are. I understand how personalities can sometimes be shown in one's appearance (Raph's tendency to fight more will be shown in having a bigger physique), but seeing that Donatello model... bleh... talk about visual stereotyping to the extreme.

These look so good, I am really impressed. Exactly how I imagined them, a great nod to zulli, in their anatomy, and nods to all the incarnations. I'm so glad they steered clear of the the "cartoon" look. I can't wait to see these guys in action! It looks like whoever designed these guys wanted to create something that could exist, and had personality, which is why they all look different. They're teenagers - of course they would dress differently!
Leo656
01-29-2014, 02:38 AM
It's not "Why wouldn't they dress individually?" It's Why would they dress... period?
Seriously, if the studio's editorial mandate for it didn't exist, and this was a real-life scenario, what would realistically compel them to not only cover themselves with human-looking attire, actively scrounge and scavenge in the sewers for things like that to wear? Where's the verisimilitude in that?
I get "It's only a movie", and a "chance for a fresh new take". I still think it's way over the top and logically, it makes no sense. Yet people argue it has some kind of "reality" to it?
I'll accept "It's cool because it looks cool". At least that's honest, if shallow. "It's cool because it makes sense" doesn't make any sense at all.

why do you wear clothes? you wear clothes to cover your body, for warmth, for humility. Just because they are mutations, we have always known them to be sentient and feeling. To be honest I imagine if they actually existed, they would be suffering depression, and misery from vitamin D deficiency, being forced to live away from the human world. They would live with a love hate relationship with humans - they might not look human but to all intents and purposes they are human teenagers, they would be influenced by the same culture and pop culture as their human counterparts. I actually think if they did exist they would probably cover up as much as possible- so they could leave their home and explore.

Eh, not sold, but you guys go ahead and enjoy it. I guess I've been pre-conditioned by the fact that none of that was ever made an issue of before, and it seems very much like a blatant toy grab. I mean, it obviously was. I'm a little older and more cynical, for better or worse; I have a harder time accepting the real-life explanation that, they needed to look this way to sell toys, because they think they won't unless the look is so over-the-top. It definitely was NOT a decision made with the kind of thinking you guys are putting into it. If it was, it might not throw me as much as it does. But I'm sorry, it looks so hollow and transparent from where I'm seeing it.
It just feels forced, to me.

only because we assume they watch television and are growing up doesn't make them HUMAN teenager at all...they never WILL be human teenagers..except as in those idw remake comics...
for me, the movie turtles are all right looking so far...I don't like their need to dress at all.it feels like there is some index finger from some money giver behind the camera saying 'oh, no for christs sake, this is a movie for kids, cover up their genitalia!'...and I can't stand when people draw the turtles giving them a more human looking body.look at their rumps here.I mean they are formed like the upper body of a human being.not like a turtle.I think there's again someone in the design camp overseeing this telling guys to go that way so the audience 'can' get connected emotionally with these odd looking heroes more.they need to resemble us humans more in order for us to lay our hopes into them.
could be just a design choice out of preference of course, but I could totally see this being the case, too..

Then by that logic, why don't they wear shoes? Sneakers? Boots? Or even socks? Or anything else on their feet for that matter, since humans wear them too, by cutting/reworking them to feet on their feet instead of a simple bandage or two?
Plus it would help with not walking outside and stepping on broken glass or any number of things out in the real world (let alone in the sewers).

Maybe you don't think just being teenagers is a reason to wear clothes. (And I'd argue you're wrong. All the teenagers in the world seek to express their individuality through dress and style.) But I can't find one reason to say, "This is why they would not wear clothes." It's not a route they had to take, but I literally can't find anything wrong with the idea.
Also, Leo has footwear, too.
And the turtles are human in every way that matters. I'm honestly kind of shocked to hear someone on these forums claim otherwise. That's what makes them interesting and compelling. They're archetypal characters that everyone can relate to.

I really like optimism! I think the first ever film was amazing as it was almost completely true to the original premise, but there is nothing wrong with a new iteration. Hell, I am not a fan of the original cartoon, not interested in it, so its influence on this isn't of great interest to me, but I am willing to just be happy that this film got made and that the franchise is alive and well. I reserve final judgement once I have seen the film!

Yeah, I can live with this. I still think I'm going to be cringing come the release day but who knows, it could work??
I don't hate the accessories, as people have suggested they may not be wearing all of them throughout the film. I kinda want to see how this version have come to feel the need for them where the others haven't.
It's hard still to make the faces out but it's encouraging to see that the ghastly Halloween outfit looks less representative. Still expecting human overtones though which isn't my personal taste.

I imagine all the designers are fan artists, or at least artists given a brief to make the turtles fit a real world setting and will inject their enthusiasm for their skill into the designs. Its going to look like the other fan art redesign approaches, because chances are most of those artists work in digital painting and SFX for film in any case.

Do we really think this is a nod or inspired by Zulli's depiction of the turtles? I highly doubt anyone involved in this movie has done anything but skim wiki entries for TMNT. That was were the smart money was even before multiple actors from movie scoffed at the idea of checking out any previous versions and treated the idea as absurd.
Those designs are not as bad as I expected but bare in mind similar to the argument we shouldn't judge the design based on a crappy halloween costume as it will look different in the actual movie we shouldn't judge based on some halfway decent action figures which generally take liberties in their interpretation. Case in point the Mike figure looks generally like the halloween costume but lacks the sun glasses and chains and beads etc which I'm sure will be there in the finished product and I suspect lips too.
There is another worry I have; based on what the actor playing Raphael has said about characterization it makes me think that throughout the majority of the movie the four turtles will act the same but their unique personalities are shown by their attire. So even if they are all making lame jokes throughout we know Leo is the leader because he is dressed like one, we know Don is the smart one as he has glasses and holding gadgets and so on.
I mean it's nice to think it's done for realism but if the turtles are cold blooded then they should be wrapped up in things that will keep them warm. Mike should be wearing that hoodie not wrapping it round his waist - also are Leo and Don going to be decked like that while just chillin' in the lair? Just like the silly proportions it's done because they feelit looks "cool" and to head off parents teling their li'l tykes "what makes this one different to the one you've already got?" when they're bugging them to buy a set. Any consideration for giving the turtles designs that represent their personalities or realism is secondary at best.

I think they will be supporting characters in their own movie, aka transformers, they are wearing clothes because they have human dicks, i can't find any other rational explanation, as for designes, they didn't bother to write their characters accurately so they are compensating with adding stuff that represents their character...

I'm really surprised by these designs. I'm liking them a lot although the individualized clothing like Mikey's wrap-around hoodie and Raph's facecloth/bandana are a bit too much for me. Donnie looks pretty cool, but I personally think he has too much circuitry and gadgets going on his body. Shredder seems to have the Super Shredder thing going on. Not a huge fan of Shredder so far, but we'll see how he looks when the film reel starts rolling. Personally, it's gonna be hard to top the 1990 movie Shredder look for me. Leo is my favorite looking turtle by far. Turtles look pretty badass overall.

I have some minor gripes like, I don't think they should be wearing clothes, I wish Raph wasn't so bulky, and Donny looks a little oddly shaped. I'd like to see what they look like in scale with the humans, especially April, since Meagan Fox is a bit on the short side.

Not to be the forum naysayer here, and I might make this my last word on it, but the more I think about it, the more the face is bothering me. The overall humanoid shape, the nostrils, the lips, the chin... Leonardo kind of looks like a green Voldemort with chubby cheeks. (Anyone else seeing that? Maybe it's just me.)
I'm somewhat interested to see them in motion, but nothing about this movie is doing it for me at this point. More power to those who like what they see, though! Thankfully there are tons of versions for all sorts of fans - I'm really enjoying both the IDW and Nick series right now - so it's not like any of us will "starve". ;)

Hmm. I looked at these last night, and saved them so I could look at them later because I was busy. Just curious, but does Shredders battle armor remind anyone else of the Metal Mutants Shredder toy? The one where his armor turned into a tiger? Just wondering.....And Leo appears to have ink as well. My daughter pointed out the armband just under his shoulder armor.
I still stand by everything I have previously said. A lack luster story a good movie does not make. They will either fail as I suspect, or pleasantly surprise me. Either way we shall see soon enough....
I am planning on tearing apart a few of the toys that will eventually come out to see if I can make a hyper real looking "traditional" Ninja turtle. *smiles*

I don't think they're bad, but I'm not super excited either. I'm not a big fan of the Turtles being big and bulky in generel, and this time they're going all the way. Especially Raph looks humongous! I prefer when they're slimmer and stealthier. I would love to see some kicka** CGI ninjitsu, but I have a hard time imagining these guys doing it. Raph doing backflips....not so much

It doesn't. I would say the "other worldly" aspects of his design suggest to some that the original alien concept for Shredder (from that horrible script that had leaked.) was modified to serve as this more traditional yet stylized take on the Shredder.

I see more of the nick shredder then ironman or megatron I my personal opinion especially compared to the nicktoons figure with huge forearm blade and large armor. Plus remember when you first see shredder in the OG movie. he looked pretty different compared to the final fight in reality.

I don't see anything other worldly Under the mask he looks scared like he is in the show. the design on the mask and armor only say classic samurai to be with a modern twist to a demon look that all it looks like to me. What im see is what he might wear to intimidate and when he finally has action he sheds some gear and gets his hands dirty similar to that of the OG movie shredder.

Shredder looks like a mix of Megatron and the Silver Samurai, with a shade of the Nickelodeon Shredder. I don't get a mutated vibe from it at all, but rather an upgraded vibe (it doesn't look anything like the partial Shredder costume we saw from the set pics a while back)... maybe by Baxter?
And no one is noticing the hatch/door on Shredder's abdomen. That will inevitably house Krang.

That's not even a question. The on set Shredder we saw before had mo-cap markings on it, but even what could be seen of the costume/armor does not necessarily resemble the imagery of Shredder here... which suggests to me that at some point, maybe toward the end of the film, he receives an upgrade.

I wouldn't be surprised, as movie adaptations often consolidate characters into one person - that said, I would be sorely disappointed if they went that route. That's one thing about the 2K3 series I never liked - it takes so much away from Oroku Saki's character. Of course - they seem to be moving very far away from his normal interpretation anyway (unless they are keeping things secret), so I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway.
All that said, I'm not picking up a huge "trap door" feel looking at his abdomen area.....

Identical? It's very hard to tell, at least to me. I don't see the front "spike(?)" part of his helmet sticking straight up in the air, as seen in the latest pics either.

I still think he's mutated. Fichtner is tiny and that Shredder looks gigantic. "changes" was a word used by William a lot.
and its no coincidence he knows the turtles, was said as well.
his skin looks pink and his eyes look like a demons and all out of shape.
I hope not.
That'll suck.

His skin looks pink because he's a white guy, and the "demon" eyes are just a design on the helmet, if you actually look closely and pay attention, you'll see the eye holes in the helmet, with his eyes showing through.
One more thing that kind of amuses me.
The Turtles' outfits look specifically ratty, cobbled together from scavenged materials. Which I admit is a valid design choice if they're going for "realism", as they don't exactly have money, resources, or the ability to buy materials.
But in the very same movie, they'll be driving around in this?

Those nostrils and lips on the turtles...ugh. I can't look at them seriously with those being so pronounced.
All I've seen so far of the turtles and Shredder is giving me a huge '90s' vibe. Like the Jim Lee TMNT figures from the vintage toy line, or any comic superhero designed during the early 90s, particularly by Rob Liefeld. Aren't they supposed to be teenagers? Why so huge and over the top?
I wonder if this is how the design team planned things out now...
Head Designer: "So...the Ninja Turtles are from the early 90s, right?"
Lower Lackey: "Actually, the comic was started in the 80s as well as the original cartoon, and--"
Head Designer: "90s it is! Look up everything you can that was cool in the early 90s. Extreme stuff and all that! Skateboards, Nike shoes, hoodies, big muscles, spikes and pouches all over everything. Oh, and give them very noticeable facial features like a human...give them lips and big nostrils."
Lower Lackey: "But, they're turtles, why would they have human--"
Head Designer: "Lips and nostrils! We have to see emotion bursting from their faces! Oh, and lots of that extreme clothing, I want stereotypical stuff if possible like lots of techie stuff on that one with the purple mask and stick."
Lower Lackey: "Donatello, sir?"
Head Designer: "Whatever, I don't care, this movie isn't going to be some Oscar winner or anything."
Just a fun little bit there. If people like it, that's fine. I just hate when they take a design and make it overly 'busy' as it were when simple works just fine.
These new turtles just have way too much stuff going on, and that Shredder...

I'm wondering how they will look when they speak, like how human lips move when we pronounce different words if the turtles will do that also?

Oddly enough, Mikey got the better costume of the four (five with Shredder)
At least it isn't a skimpy armor costume, Punk Silver Samurai or Conan. It at least looks a bit more reserved and urban. Still as stupid and silly, but the least worst.

Maybe its post not pre sorry EDIT
POST visualization take the footage and uses CGI mixed with practical effects to great more detailed experience and can change many things. All im saying is what there seeing is out of context the final result on screen could look brand spanking new rusted and used, scraped and worn or any number of things whos to say they don't have 15 different practical version of the van and many more CGI versions

lol...okay. dude. It's post-production, not post visualization.
Previs happens before a film is shot, and is often just very rough animation... Not trying to preach at you, just making sure you know what you're going on about. lol!
I get it, you want people to support the film, so kuddos on that front. This film needs a cheerleader.

When I saw the models on the first page I thought it they looked okay, but when I saw the poster with them close up....had to cringe.
They look bad to me, from the faces to the clothes.
The human lips just look too strange to me.
The clothes are a bit of a mess to.
That Shredder isn't looking to hot either.

Ok 2k3 gets a pass because its an Android, but how is this Shredder suppose to fight in all that? That armor does nothing swiftness. Even with the Armor he's mostly a giant plated target.

Their heads are very similar.
I actually really like the look of this incarnation. He looks very intimidating.
It also reassures my love for James Saito for pulling off a brilliant performance with just facial expressions and movements.
The only thing I'm still worried about is the voice. It could ruin everything good about it.

I read this thread backwards and I was expecting the worst. I don't mind the design at all - it's a little over the top, but it's cool. It's a great shape, maybe filled in with a tad too much detail - and it looks like he's wearing Megatron's face Texas Chainsaw style.

I don't really see what would be the point in Paramount trying to take these images down. By now, they've have spread far across the internet.
