Do you really think anyone is going to spend their time watching a 15 minute video of you speaking with slurred speech? And what is with that awful camera angle holding it below your face? Jesus.

Casual.

Yeah, really. Go away. You literally don't even post in your threads after you make them. Make a thread that DOESN'T plug your absolutely dreadful videos for once, and maybe I'll throw you some respect.

Okay, I'm not going to be as mean as the two previous posters. Honestly, I doubt that you'll even read this. I understand how it's like to spend a lot of time creating something and want attention for it, but it's not fair to fill up the forum with what are essentially advertisements. Even worse, you never add comments after your original post. I'm assuming that you communicate better in video form than in writing, but it still isn't fair to spam the board. Join the conversation.

You do realize that most of his 16 posts are him making threads where he posts a youtube video and then scampers, right? It's all a ploy to get views to his channel, right?

Not EVERONE needs defending, BabyTurtles.

If you were a regular poster here who was interested in discussing your opinions, I'd comment on your video. I watched a bit of it, but then I looked at your previous post (it's all linked in your profile, just FYI) and how much you have contributed here. Which is to say... very little. You post your vids then you jet.

If you want to engage with the other fans, great. If not, don't post your videos here. That simple!

As others have said, it would be better if you just posted your thoughts instead of just posting videos all of the time. We value discussion, but when you just post videos and nothing else, it's really hard to gauge what you're trying to tell us. I get that you're proud of your YouTube channel and want people to see it, but this really is getting annoying for a lot of us poster. Just saying.

what I'm saying, is that with these wrtiers/creative staff, you never know what they will pull out of their hats next. True, some may say what their doing is refeshing and all. But ask yourself's this, when they came up with the show, did they (right off the bat) tell you that they were going to deage April, Irma, Casy, Karai into teenagers, did they? No they didn't. Did you expect Dogpound to become Rahazar, no you didn't. And what about April's dad becoming a bat at the season 2 opener, did you see that coming? Again no, you didn't.

Point is, just because you say something won't happening, doesn't mean it won't.

For Example, Like as I was pointing out in my pervious post, There's a slight possiblitle that Irma could be mutanted into Mona Lisa, because it would be a different way of bringing in a character of the 80s-90s series into the new one. Now as said in the video in that post, they could do that, or go with someone different.

The thing is, as a long-time fan (among many), I just see that the writing/creative staff is one of unperedictablitly. I mean it's not like you when go to a taped WWE, TNA, or ROH event, and using your mobile device, be able to spoiler the outcome, days/weeks before it airs. With Nick's TMNT series and it's creative staff, you never know what's going to happen next or what they have up their seleves.

And that's what I was trying point out in the video.

Sorry it was too long (or boring) for some of you

God Bless

You're right that they're unpredictable about things, and that's the beauty of the show because you never know what's going to happen next. It keeps you on your toes. And, hell, even stuff in WWE can become predictable like Batista winning the Royal Rumble. But the good thing about this show is that you never know where they're going to go next with everything, so I see your point. Thanks for posting.

BabyTurtles
02-08-2014, 04:22 PM
yea it IS unpredictable.

I did not see alot of things happening....

like Pulverizer turing into Mutagen man....

Dogpound mutating into Rahzar

April being part of the Kraang plan...I thought for sure they wanted Kirby for his smarts.

I like that about the show.

Jester

So.....all this to say, "You guys are so wrong about April/Irma/Karai mutating into Ninjara/Venus/Mona Lisa."

Good to know...

But that doesn't make sense though. Even if Irma did mutate, why would she change her name to Mona Lisa?

If ML ever even does appear in this series, I think it will be as a different character.

I'd hope it would be a different character....not only do we need more girls on the show....but I like irma's design XD as a human.Under what circumstances is it deemed necessary to have more girls? You want 50:50 ratio just to be fair? It's fine as it is.

Like in My Little Pony, does anyone care or complain about the severe lack of male characters? Nope, cause it's a girl show. Tmnt is a boys show and will be treated as such. Plus girl toys in boys show doesn't sell much so that's to bear in mind. Remembering past history, many other shows got cancelled because their toy line didn't do well. It might be the same case for Nick too.

With the recent addition of Irma (a prominent/significant role at that) it's enough for now imo. They can add more should the story plot need it and not because of some females demand it. Heck what about handicapped people! Just Mr Murakami? How unfair!! Black people need more than Baxter Stockman!! More black people!!

See? ;)

and there's alot more that might have shown up once but have had an episode ALL about them

and that grilled cheese stallion

you see...I don't need the girls to be major characters or anything....I would just like some more minor girl characters......like April's aunt....or maybe even a mutant girl.....villain....ally...

so I disagree with you ^_^ I think more girls in boys shows is important, the same vice versa.

NO, they don't have to be as important....but shown sometimes so that we know they can have a voice too.

edit: forgot, TMNT is going in the right direction now it seems, by adding in Irma :) but if Mona lisa did come I personally think it'd be more interesting if they were separate.

Huh.. I thought last time I checked there was only a few male characters I mlp wiki page. Okay poor example then. :P

But again elaborate further why is it important to have more girls? Even Batman (let's see it in terms of Batman the Animated Series, the films and Arkham games) has four significant females (Catwoman, Batgirl, Harley and Ivy; others being love interests, etc.) and that's sufficient. More doesn't necessarily mean it's needed at all. It's sufficient as it is and serves to tell their stories.

I'll agree with that, that said though, TMNT is no more a boys' show than the WWE.

And they're both in common, the female audience may be there for different reasons and some may like different characters, but they're still there.

Much like MLP is watched by some boys/dudes but their target audience is still girls. Same as TMNT being boys show. The toy line proves that too what with Karai toy still not being available. If they believe in the number of female viewers and purchasing power, they would've included her years ago already.

Clearly that's not the case. And April is the only female in the toy line for now.

hey Batman still has more girls than TMNT XD and those are important characters. 4 is alot and that's not even including the other girls that show up. (that's basically all I'm asking for)

TMNT only has Karai and April...and we don't even know how many times we're gonna see Irma. so 2 main girls.....1 minor girl.

what I'm saying is....we are already in the 2nd season of TMNT.....is it wrong to ask for a few more ladies....to show up. Everyone is getting mutated...more girl mutants? XD

Avatar the last airbender had 6 main girls! all of them kickbutt! and that was a "boy" show.

Cartoon Network's philosophy, according to Paul Dini, is that girls are worthless to animation networks because they don't watch cartoons and buy the toys (even though they totally do). Nickelodeon may have that same mindset.

I'm sure they don't....I mean look at Avatar....and legend of korra (whatever you think of it)

these 2 shows have tons of girls....LOK has Korra as the main character....

I agree with Baby Turtles and Ninja Pug. I admit I watched the movie first before I watched Avatar: The Last Air Bender. The original cartoon is light years better then the movie, and well worth seeing.

And it's sequel series "Legend of Korra" is just as good if not better.

Back to the thread at hand. I do agree the writers and creative staff do have lots of twists and situations that we don't see coming.

Will Donnie get trapped in Dimention X at some point mid-season?

Will Irma meet the Turtles?

Will Casey's dad and little sister turn out to be Hun and Angel?

We don't know. I mean some of them you sort of see coming through rumors, and leaked info. So April's dad turning into a bat, yeah I knew that would happen, however I expected that to happen mid-season so we would have a chance to have Kirby develop as a character. See him getting to know the Turtles, maybe assist Donnie with stuff, struggle with the concept of his daughter being trained to be a ninja.

And no, he gets mutated about the first ten minutes into the show. And we haven't seen him sense.

As for posting video's on this forum, I have nothing against it. But I think we need a thread or area where we can post our own personal videos about TMNT be they just our personal thoughts or an actual video review. Posting a thread where you just put up one of your videos is spamming.

really hoping hun and angel show up though hun being caseys father would be more interesting, i feel like it takes away from caseys personality

thinking that don will get separated from the others during the dimension hopping but kinda after they leave dim x, also hoping that leads 2 another secondary mutation along the way

Kirby should show up again soon
1. its only ep 8-9
2. there r so many other plots lines going on in the season also, not saying hes not gonna show up more than twice but there is still the mutagen gathering along w/ the rest, but who knows, he might show up at any random ep

To give the other characters a chance to develop without him and forcing them to step out of their comfort zone and into Areas they take for granted because that's Donatello's department of expertise.

I'm going to disagree with BabyTurtles here. I don't think TMNT, or any show, needs to just throw in more women or minorities just for the sake of diversity. What we need is more well written women and minority characters.

Look at the Legend of Korra for example. While Avatar did a great job with unique and well developed female characters, I always felt that Korra relied on overused tv tropes. Korra is supposedly a "strong" character (because a girl can't lead a show without acting like a dude, right?), but in reality she's overly emotional, irrational, and boy obsessed. Lin is a spinster, and Asami is the token pretty girl that's so submissive she lacks a personality. Once her role as love interest ended, the writers didn't know what to do with her. And we all know that TMNT has stuck with the overused good girl/bad girl dichotomy where the good girl is a love interest and personality-less and the bad girl is totally irrational.

I'm not saying these are bad shows. TMNT and the Legend of Korra are by far the best shows on Nickelodeon right now. But still. A well written female character would be nice.

I didn't say that the Legend of Korra was the best show. I actually don't really like it that much. The first book was good, even with its flaws but this past season was so meh. It will also have the Turtles deal with the loss of one of their own. The closest thing they've had to that thus far is Leo's near sacrifice in the season 1 finally.

And they've had three episodes where they have shown over confidence and complacency. And if you look carefully as those episodes there is a bit of a pattern when it comes to consequences.

The Gauntlet- They are over confident because they've won every battle they've faced since they first climbed out of the sewers.

Consequence-They nearly lose their lives at the hands of a stronger opponent.

Pulverizer Returns- They are over confident because they've become to reliant with their trademark weapons.

Consequence-They lose their weapons and an ally is unfortunately mutated.

Mutation Situation-Over confident because they just saved the world from a gigantic alien battle fortress.

Consequence-Another ally is mutated, and they temporarily lose their closest human friend.

So by this pattern, the next consequence means they would have to lose one of their own -as in a brother will be lost to them. Not captured and rescued within the same episode...but full on gone for a small handful of episodes at least.

WHOA. WHAT?
I used to feel the same way, but I forced myself to watch a couple episodes of the show, and I got instantly hooked. It has the perfect combo of character development, nice plot pacing, a fun sense of humor, some of the greatest action scenes in a cartoon, and extremely fluid animation! It's as good, if not, better than the Nick show. Yeah, I just went there.

Anyway, about the whole "diverse" thing, I don't understand. Most of the humans in the show are girls. And there really aren't a lot of humans period. Of course, that's just my two cents.

it's not to say it wouldn't happen but it sounds more like you're obsessed with the idea of mutanting (sic) irma into mona lisa as if you WANT it to happen, mr. walmer. frankly, i don't, and whether it's because you have a boner for mona lisa, or because you have this fetish for girls transforming into things like deviantart users often seem to have, it's pretty clear it's not the most desired thing!

I agree Mona Lisa would be a cool character to rehash on the show, but there are also other characters who could deserve their own 2012 version.

Mona Lisa...no Irma shouldn't be mutated into Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa in the original version was a physics student who was abducted by a pirate named Captain Filch and forced to assist him in schemes to take over the world. She plays along for a time, but when she tries to sabotage his submarine she was mutated into a Lizard woman.

Also according to Eastman and Laird, Mona was originally going to be a female turtle.

"The character of Mona Lisa was created for the old show by someone working for Fred Wolf. What many people do not know was that she was originally supposed to be a female mutant turtle, but Kevin and I put our foot down (this was back when we both agreed that a female turtle was a lame, stupid, creatively bankrupt idea) and they changed her to some kind of lizard." --PL

In the 2012 version Mona Lisa could be a young woman who had been abducted and experimented on by the Kraang. Like the OT she could possibly become a love interest for Raph or at least female person that Raph has respect for both as a mutant and a fighter.

Another probability is that Mona Lisa could be April's mother.

First off: Mona's voice actress is Pat Musick. Mae Whitman, the voice of April is her daughter.

Second: We know April lost her mother, but we don't specifically known if her mother is dead. Her mother may very well be alive but may be a mutant.

And while we are speaking about love interests for Raph. We can also add in Ninjara and/or Mezcaal.

Other Characters that could be revitalized in the 2012 version is

that bum we see from time to time could end up being Muckman. We see a small homage to muckman in Mikey's room. And from the looks of the Muckman poster, he seems to have the same character model of the street bum.

We can also include Jahanna. She was a one shot alien character who appears in he Mirage Comics and 2k3 series and it was hinted that she was a love interest for Donatello, but it was a love that could never be. If Jahanna was included she could be included as a means dissolving the Don-O'Neil pairing. Or strengthen it.

Usagi: Keep the tradition of having Usagi appear in all Animated installments of the TMNT franchises at least.

Lotus Blossom -Lotus was a precursor to Karai and she was a love interest for Leo. Since Karai is Splinter's daughter, maybe Lotus could come in a her own character.
