View Full Version : Should Shredder become Super Shredder towards the end of the Nick show?

With how mutant and mutagen-heavy in general this show is, do you think the concept of "Super Shredder" will be revived? Shredder drinking a canister of mutagen and becoming a mountain of muscle with special powers?
We've seen it in Movie 2:

TMNT III NES:

And TMNT IV:Turtles in Time:

I imagine something like this wouldn't happen till the end of the show when the Turtles are capable of taking down Shredder in a fight, which they still haven't been able to do so far. Shredder pushed to the brink might mutate himself for a final battle. Given the mutagen in the Nick show makes no sense, Shredder simply mutating into a stronger human rather than an animal wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

i don't think he would have a permanent mutation - maybe just a temporary mutation into the super shredder. I have a feeling he will be mutated tho. into what - i have no idea

As a temporary thing, I would toootally be into that.

Yeah I think it would be cool if he mutated himself to be more on the level with his foes.
But to become what Super Shredder was I think would be a bit silly.

I'd prefer the super shredder helmet he used in OotS, then being mutated.

Sure, why not?

No, mutagen already has a big role within the series.

That would be cool, only if he has a cure for it. I wouldn't like a permanent Super Shredder.

Not as a permanent thing, but I wouldn't mind a small homage to it.

He's already sort of a SuperShredder on his own. Maybe a temporary "SuperShredder" mode... like, a mutagen dose that wears off after an hour or so.

i think it was be pretty neat. i kinda feel like Shredder is being held in reserve. they need to bring him out more to make the threat more real.

The problem with him is his threat is already too real. If they use him too much there would be no show cause the Turtles would already be dead. The rest of the season would be Splinter trying to avenge them.

This. Shredder and Splinter are both portrayed as invincible. At this point, I don't think they need to bring him out at all that much. That's practically the reason why he searches for Tiger Claw.

That might work...
I could also see them making him become "addicted" to the stuff.

Sure, why not? I always loved the concept. Although it's infinitely more practical in the context of a video game villain than a movie. Some ideas just play better in certain media versus others.
There's a bunch of ways you could do it. Anything from Ooze to Kraang technology to some kind of Venom steroid, depending on the TMNT universe there's a bunch of plausible ways for Super-Shredder to work. In this show, you have more options than most, since not everything makes concrete sense anyway.

Yes, please. Supershredder ! Welcome !!

tbh, I predicted in my head that Shredder would use mutagen as a last minute resort to destroy the TMNT and become Super Shredder in the series finale. It could work, yes.
I could even see him get mutated in a later part of the last season and kept in the dark until the finale ;)!

I would like to see him having the Kraang and/or Baxter working on a specific type of mutagen that he can use how he wants, so it's only a temporary type of mutation. We can see them working on it throughout the whole series, but never know what it is until the finale where he mutates into Super Shredder.

This is what I was partially what I was thinking though I do not believe Kraang has the ability to modify the mutagen in this dimension. Baxter certainly can, but with him becoming the Baxter Fly, I doubt he'd want to work with the Foot ever again.

with the way mutagen is hitting EVERYONE XD
yea, Shredder could mutant into a super Shredder.
but I imagine he'd turn back...
I wouldn't mind if it happens at the very end. I like that Shredder is so much stronger than the Turtles at this point, and that it is because of his skills as a fighter. I hope it will remain a fight between ninjas, but as the Turtles grow stronger as a team I could definitely see Shredder use mutagen as a last resolve

Ya know, only with this series, with their mutant-of-the-week thing that they've got going on. I could definitely get behind this. It could absolutely work.

Make it a toy and it'd sell like crazy.:P

I would rather see him temporary becoming stronger by mutagen than most silly mutants in the 2012 show. But please, not those silly showckwaves, fire and ice created when he jumps in the videogames.

I hope he does become the Super Shredder, and totally thrashes the turtles, almost kills them. Permanent or not, it should make a heavy impact on the whole show. But he should look totally awesome, no strange extra limbs or stupid bulging veins like with Kirby. Maybe a few bone spikes.

A part of me wants to say no, but when you look at Shredder's constant pursuit of perfection and how disappointed he always is with those around him, it makes some sense that eventually it will happen, rather by his choice or no.
Make it a toy and it'd sell like crazy.:P
Can't wait for that Super Shredder figure the same size as their Leatherhead figure!

He's already a super shredder. If he mutates now and doesn't kill one if the turtles then I'm calling bs.
Give it a season or two when the turtles are actually at the level they can hand shredder his ass a few times before that happens.
Unless they go the movie route and he loses all his skills and just collapses a pier all over himself.
