View Full Version : So, Miley Cyrus is now all 4 TMNT?

Don't know if anyone else saw this on Miley Cyrus's Twitter page (https://twitter.com/mileycyrus), but apparently she's now all 4 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Wonder if this is good for the brand or bad, probably won't make a difference. The TMNT are huge, no matter who else is into them.

No, this won't ruin the franchise as I find this as just her own knockoff on the Turtles, and this will be forgotten in a few months. Literally any celebrity of some nature could do this. I'm not a fan of Miley so I don't exactly get what each pose represents for each Turtle, but I'm sure fans of both could.

Oh man, that's hilarious. I don't think it'll hurt the franchise since she's not representing them or anything. I think she's just messing around. I used to like Miley in her Hannah Montana days, but now I just don't care for her.

Miley and her antics. hehe Was she drunk, I wonder? What if she were to voice a character in the new movies.

"Hey daddy, I got a part in the sequel to Ninja Turtles! I'm voicing some female fox named alphabets or whatever." That... That couldn't really happen, could it?(Simpsons shudder)

I'm surprised she isn't dead yet. She honestly strikes me as one of those singers who will overdose on drugs eventually.

Geez CyberCubed, could you come off as any more insensitive?

Anyway, I don't really see this pic as some kinda big deal.

Well, a lot of kids are into Miley and even some adults (yes, I have met one and I was shocked). She has a pretty loyal fanbase so I guess this would be a good thing. Weird, for sure.

Never really kept up with her. I know my little sister used to love her on Disney channel but that's about it. She still has a kid fanbase? I guess that makes sense as she's still doing the singing bit.

Why are any of you acting as if this is going to affect the brand even .1%? She obviously has at least some vague interest in the characters and is repping that in a cover photo. So what?

wont effect the brand but might an effect on peoples nightmares... or someone crazy might actually do a custom of that...

Oh jeez, def nightmare fuel right there. I hope she never does a cover of the 80's theme either! More nightmare fuel. If Creepy Eddie from Nightmare in The Lair wanted to scare me half to death, that's all he'd have to do. Miley singing any one of the TMNT themes would pretty much do it. It'd probably be all poppish and such. Rather fun to gossip about celebs and their antics, especially if they're turtle related. Ain't like we're getting any movie news, so it passes the time. I love a good lark every now and again. So ham it up there Miley, but no TMNT covers. Ya wanna make me deaf as well, missy? Not that she's a bad singer. I just don't know if I could handle a poppified turtles song.

maybe sing one of the horrible songs howie wrote. "heroes in a half shell, not weasels in a clam sauce"... already have that song get stuck in my head from time to time and when that happens one contemplates using drill to get it out...

Oh man! You'd need a transport moduel drill for that, I think. Miley'd have a field day with that one. Ya know, I kinda liked that song silly as that sounds? Miley ought to get a visit from G. Cleff if she attempted to cover any of this stuff. That includes Raph's Happy Birthday Dear Rodney from Splinter Vanishes! Enjoyed that ditty. Gotta love Paulsen's singing voice, seriously.

What if they make an episode where Miley mutated into Venus?

She'd come through like a wrecking ball down in the sewers.

Oh please no! That episode'd wre e e eck me. Sorry Shark_Blade, but you asked for it! lol Kidding of course. Miley'd be crazy enough to voice Venus too, no doubt. Aw man, now I got that friggin wrecking ball song stuck in my head.(Starts singing Pizza Power at the top of lungs in order to delude the Mileyness.) Saki could end up with some estranged brother named Billy Ray Saki, and then the madness would just never end.

Ugh, last thing we need is Miley Cyrus spreading her disease all over the turtles. This is just a publicity stunt to cash in on the hype for the new movie I think. I doubt she's a real fan, though. A few months from now we'll forget all about this ever happening. :tlol:

Ah Jester, I love ya man. Can't help but hear Homer Simpson singing this song. I forget which Simpson ep it was featured in. Anywho, Miley and TMNT go together like peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches. Sorry if I've offended any of you pb&m aficionados out there, but you know what I mean. Bertie Bott's vomit flavored jelly beans work for ya?

Miley is just a typical cliche. A former child star that turned "hardcore" to shed her family friendly past. She owes her career to her dad and Disney.

So many celebrities think they're cool to turn controversial so everyone can be shocked and give them attention.

I really wish the media would ignore them. Making any issue over their behavior is exactly what they want.

Relax guys, it was just simple speculation with the new film coming out and all. Reason why I put the word "think" in my post, not claiming it as a fact. You're probably right, it probably was a simple MS Paint job done after a few blunts. It's nothing worth jumping down my throat over.

Yup, wocka wocka! This thread's a breath of fresh air. It's TMNT related and I got some laughs out of it. Wouldn't be surprised if Miley compares herself to someone in Transformers 4 or X-Men pretty soon. Have no idea why all these Disney kids seem to love to go wild after they've grown up. You never hear anything about them sans all the trouble they get into. Since she's a former Disney kid, I wonder if she'll start talking gibberish about Star Wars episode VII in a year or so. Keep that kid away from blasters and lightsabers, please Disney.

Hah, maybe she'll say she's Mystique in spirit!

This thread is hilarious! I really don't think it's that surprising celebrities are talking about the turtles since the Nick show is still relatively new and a movie coming out soon and they were insanely popular for a long time not that long ago, lol.

Yeah, and allot of celebs have kids old enough to buy the Nick toys. Well sans Miley of course. But they've probably seen the merch in a tun of stores. Not impossible that the kid's muse would start churning out uh-- stuff. Yeah, I agree, Kolaida. She'd probably do the Mystique bit if she knew she'd get a multitude of retweets in response.

Yeah, and most celebs remember them from their own childhoods, to it's pretty cool. I think Miley has younger siblings (I think her parents have like 7 kids altogether or something-- hey, one of my neighbor friends created their own Miley wrecking ball Christmas ornament, so I know some things, lol!)

I haven't been to a comic store or a Hot Topic in a while (I mainly buy food and thrift). I might check in and see if there's any merch I'm willing to spend my $$ on.

I wonder sometimes, if you honestly just wish everything TMNT-related would disappear forever, except the Mirage books, so you and the other dozen people still interested could just lock yourselves in a room re-reading them forever, and nobody else would have anything.

If so, that's an entirely selfish point of view to have, just sayin'.

I would expect nothing less from Andrew, Leo. That's just the way he is.

I'm sure Miley's heard of the Turtles so she's just putting her own spin on it, or maybe a friend of hers did that for a joke. I don't think it'll hurt the franchise honestly, so I'm not worried about it.

I get that people have preferences, but other people have theirs, too, and anything that gets people to appreciate TMNT - and *hopefully* branch out into some of the deeper, more substantial parts of it - is, to me, a good thing.

I get annoyed at how most people prefer to look at TMNT as a "goofy kids' thing", but that's their prerogative. If they enjoy it more as that than as something as serious as Mirage, or even the first film, then who am I to take that interpretation away from them?

And may I applaud you for saying this? I agree wholeheartedly, both regarding getting folks to appreciate TMNT being a good thing, and about how everyone has preferences and should all be able to enjoy their favorite versions. It's all about growing as a community and sharing our common interest, at the end of the day.

Goofy kids' thing, huh? *Sigh* I get that some people feel that way, and that's cool. That said, anyone (over 12, at least) who only sees it as something that simple hasn't really given it a good look, IMHO. I used to be just a fan of the cartoons and movies for pure entertainment, but the more I get into it, the more I see that is truly of real value. Honor, family, friendship, acceptance- these themes are at the core of it all, along with darker issues like revenge, hatred, etc. It's so much deeper and more emotional than just a kids' show. Okay, maybe I read too much into things, but I like to think that it has something more to offer than just light entertainment.
