In the latest issue of toyfare a writer asked the question as to hoping the turtle toy line doesn't follow suit of it predessor by making urelated turtle figs. The president of the boys toy division for playmates spoke on the topic. He said what made the first line so great was the variety of characters, he also said that while thinking about it they didn't do near as many turtles as they did the other characters. He then went on to say that the reason they made the extreme sport turtles is becuase they are featured in the intro. He then said that THIS WILL BE the farthest they will stray for the tmnt concept. He said and I quote "there will be no farmin leo or surfin don." He then said that the next set of turtles will have removeable armor (that was built at the junkyard they visit in the toon) and under the arnor they will be regular turtles that are get this SUPER POSEABLE! I can't wait.
By the way for those who don't know at figures.com they have posted pics of the foot elite figure, the foot tech, the nanobot, and what looks to me is the mechanical body the utroms will be in. They all look fantastic. There will also be battle damaged turtles available with certain playsets.

that's good news. i didn't want basketball don and baseball raph
although the tmnt in street clothes would be kinda cool (ie. Fallen Angel). or maybe in trenchcoats like in Garbageman.
i don't know why the new figs have those "V" articulated legs though. i prefer the ball joints that shredder and the tmnt have. oh well
I can't find the wave 4 figure pics at figures.com... Anyone have a link?

. . . and what looks to me is the mechanical body the utroms will be in.
I believe that the “unknown” figure is possibly Baxter Stockman in his robot body. To me, it kinda looks like a simplified/leaner/cartoony version of the body he has in the Mirage TMNT, vol. 2 comic books.
The Utroms themselves will most likely be visible in the “bellies” of their robotic bodies when their figures are released. Without that asset alone, they kinda lose their cool-factor and prime selling point. Also, this guy has guns and missles. The comic book Utroms are anti-gun pacifists, so they might be anti-gun in the cartoon as well.

I dont know who that robot guy is but I think it might just be a completly new charecter. Baxter stockman's transformation was said to be "not what your expecting." So that leads me to believe that he wont be a robot (or a fly for those of you who were hopeing.) And whats with the gold clad shredder figure? wheres mine!?!? And hold up, did they answer my prayers? That bike which Casey sits atop is not the shell cycle or donnies bike. Are they making his bike? I think so!!!
The Elite Guard and the Tech Ninja look cool. I will definitely have to pick those up. It doesn't look like they have the ball-jointed (or whatever it's called) arms or legs, though. :tneutral:
Aagh, the legg and arm behind the Elite Foot tricked me. At first glance, I thought "MONDO GECKO!?", but then I realized it was just Skater Raph.
The robot has to be either Baxter or a new character. We've already seen a glimpse of the Utrom's bodies, and they look very much like in the comics.
Casey's bike looks cool. The Turtle-Humvee, though, I can likely pass on.
I'm worried about the "Battle Damage" figures. If these pictures are any indication, we're gonna be treated to... the original figures with X's and lines drawn on them with magic marker!? Ruh-roh...

No need for two threads of the same discussion.

Both the rooftop playset, and the alley-way with bike are straight thefts from the Lara Croft line. The bike included.
If those *are* being released with the Turtles, it's a good move, but not my cup of tea. The bike isnt all that great, but the rooftop playset would make a great diorama piece, especially for a group of ninas who thrive on roofs.

I don't have a problem with the varients as long as you can take off their outfits and have normal turtles underneath, and super posable! :) :) :)
All the figs look great, although that robot, Baxter-bot, whatever, looks kinda plain.
Why would they re-release a Next Mutation toy, don't tell me they're re-airing the show!!! :x

I have a strong feeling the battle damaged turtles will just be coming with those display bases as "pack ins" to help them sell better.
