I don't know if they shot it with 3D cameras, but 3D Post Conversion has gotten really good now.

I kinda hope not, only 'cause I don't think I can fit 3D glasses over my regular ones. :tsad:

I think all 3D glasses should be designed like safety goggles so they can fit over regular glasses.

3D has about zero appeal to me, unless the movie was filmed with 3D in mind. It can look nice, I just don't see the value in it, if a movie was shot for 2D, and the 3D is just tacked on after.

And yes, I do find out whether a movie was filmed with 3D in mind. The cinematographer for the new Godzilla called working with 3D on The Avengers a pain in the ---. He was constantly being told what you could do what he couldn't do, because of the limitations of 3D. if a scene was in 3D, he couldn't shoot frame his shots a certain way. For instance, he said over-the-shoulder shots were forbidden.

And he values 2D cinema more than 3D, so he shot Godzilla for 2D. When I hear that, the 3D option loses absolutely all of its value, in my mind. I see no reason to see that movie in 3D, and I won't. Before tickets go on sale for TMNT, I'll find out the intentions of the filmmakers, and decide accordingly.

lmfao haha. sorry to laugh but i never thought about that before, have u seen 3D movies in the theatres and if so how do you or anyone with glasses actually manage this ?? I've never had a problem fitting regular theater 3D glasses over my own. But IMAX glasses are a definite no-go. They fit like safety glasses.

It's fine, it is a silly thought. :P I'm not really a movie person, I haven't been to one in theaters in years. I've never actually seen a 3D movie, be it before or after I needed glasses. I'm gonna try to fit 'em over or under my glasses if possible, but we'll see how that goes... If they only have the weird mask-like ones from the TMNT promotion available, it could be a problem.

Is this the kind thing where I could potentially just bring my own cardboard pair offa ebay or something?

I think all 3D glasses should be designed like safety goggles so they can fit over regular glasses.

Agreed completely.

imax ones look more thick and more squared, as long as the 3D is good then i'll be into it, i may not go on the first day and see what people say, again assuming its 3D, but if its 2D im there the first day..

The standard 3D glasses actually do work fine over regular glasses. I avoid 3D movies, but I saw Doctor Who in 3D back in November and I had no problems. My local theater also sells clip-on flip-down 3D glasses, which are like clip-on sunglasses. They cost $3, but you can of course keep them for future use. I haven't tried those and am not sure I want to because I really don't want to deal with looking at the clip-on element as I watch a movie.

When I see 3D movies at regular theaters, the glasses always look like this:

These have been no problem to wear over my glasses. Aside, of course, from the general discomfort of wearing two pairs of glasses...

When I google IMAX glasses, I see every style imaginable. What I don't see, is anything that looks like what my local IMAX has. They're more like sporty sunglasses. I'm just glad I have contacts, now...

Oh good, the source material can get raped in all 3 dimensions.

all i want are the the glasses advertised for the film - i will gladly pay extra just to have the glasses, then walk right into the 2D version, with the frames on, and the lenses popped-out.

I am normally wearing glasses and I hate the 3d ones!
They do fit, but it feels wrong and I get always headaches when I remove them.

I want to be fit and happy after this movie, so I will watch it in 2d.

So just because some people with glasses can't wear 3D ones, everyone shouldn't be able to see it in 3D?

Weak as fart.

I've never had a problem wearing 3D glasses over my regular glasses in the theater. I actually prefer wearing my glasses instead of contacts when watching 3D. That said, I doubt I'll see this in 3D since it's post converted. Regular 2D showing for me but I do want to get a pair of the Leo 3D glasses for future use.
