Um, so, is anyone else other than me worried that they might not be in the movie enough? If there is one thing I hate, it is seeing a movie I want to see that doesn't have enough of a certain character or characters that I am interested in.

This does not warrant a thread.
But yeah, it's a possibility that they will focus on the human characters more AKA transformers...

Whatever man. The same could be said for certain threads laying around on this website. As for the Transformers, from what I remember they were like almost a million $ to render or a million $ for each time they were in their movies.

Yes, I'm very worried about it.
It took an hour, a solid hour, for the actual Autobots to show up in a 2.4 hour Transformers movie.
It'll take 30-45 minutes, give or take a few, for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the titular characters, to show up.

Probably 1 hour into the film will be the first appearance.

An hour is a stretch. I don't think we will be following april around for an hour. With transformers, there was a lot more characters they were introducing. Not needed of course. But I still think this will be different.

We will get April moving, that will take at least first 10 Min.
http://cinema-way.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Megan-Fox-Set-Photo-Ninja-Turtles-1.jpg
Than we have to watch her look for a job. 10 minuts.
Then we watch her doing some Exercising reporting, which she objects god damn it, cause she's better than that.
while she's dressed in the tightest pants and shirt you ever saw, she looks like a whorehttps://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSfLYH8gwaH1z4KwGaSyXyfzD4PlcH1o DQ2AVGeuFtv0ITvH1kq
That will take another 10 to 15 minutes.
Sprinkle a little Harry Sack in there and it sounds about right...

i think someone once did a full time count of just the transformers and across all 3 films its just under 30 minutes
this is when they dont interact with human moments i think adding that is was about an hour total of robots across 3 movies
not a very reassuring thing

Well the thing is that, unlike the turtles, the Transformers were suppose to be realistic looking vehicles with lots of parts and in the end were designed as such. The turtles should cost less to make, I hope.

price isnt the issue its the writing of the script and how the director chooses to put its human actors in the scenes
1 hour of transformers total across 3 films is a joke, im sorry you can say all you want but clearly they werent not the stars of their own movie
its like making a muppet movie and only have Kermit the Frog show up in the opening credits

That was their first mistake.
If they had gone with a more simple design, like the ones from the more recent video games like, say, Fall Of Cybertron, probably could have featured the Transformers in a movie called Transformers a whole bunch more.

Yeah, I'm pretty worried that they're going to focus on April and all the other humans more than the TMNT themselves.
"Focus on the title characters? Pfft, that would make too much sense...what the kids really want to see is the super interesting, extremely talented Megan Fox listening to people talk for a majority of the film!"

Don't forget Will Arnett.
They would not put a popular actor like Will Arnett in this movie if he didn't have a significant amount of screentime.
More than Vernon Fenwick deserves at least.

When April is walking out she will say something like
"O yeah, look at that ass"

Not that I'm aware, too much of an undertaking for me.
But the Turtles in general don't show up til around page 16 or so if memory serves, and that's just Leo, Raph, and Donnie. I think it was a 119 page script.
That's just shy of a two hour movie, which would mean the Turtles, at least 3 of them, don't show up until 16 minutes in. Mikey doesn't show up until about page 20. So all four Turtles aren't even in the movie until about 20 minutes in.
Compared to Ninja Turtles 3 where the Turtles show up in about 2 and a half minutes in a 95 minute movie.
Even Ninja Turtles 3 got to the Turtles faster than the Blue Door script.
The first movie they didn't show up until about 5 minutes, but it did a good job at building atmosphere and setting up the universe they were in. But they STILL showed up 5 minutes in because they're the goddamn stars of the movie.

I'm all ears in terms of the turtles screen time...long as the story is engaging AND as long as the film is not 87-96mins (wishful thinking on my behalf), at this point in the game what else can the film crew adjust? (I know reshoots are happening but I hope it's worth it in the end) and most of all, I just hope the presence and magic will be felt when they do show up on screen for the first time (ala 1990)....minus any shaky-cam syndrome.

April has always been part of their stories so as long as there still involved i dont see her getting "more" screen time she are eyes and ears.
FIchtner Is the villian He will get a villians amount of screen time.
Arnette Has been know for cameo and small parts as well as large parts so that im not worried about and Whoopie Is pretty much a cameo, Maybe two, three short scenes tops, telling April which stories she has to do and that shes fired ala Wolf series and OG movie
The turtles Are where there focus should and will most likely be Coming from the screen writer talking about unity and brotherhood and such. Im comparison to transformer you hear the screen writer talk about Sam ans his story and now Marks character in this new movie

You know, as much crap as Corey Feldman got as an actor, I have to give him props that he was probably the most famous of any actor attached to the 1990 movie, and he had no scenes in it. What does that say about todays actors and their need for face time?

Weren't neither of their characters actually previously canon characters in the Transformers world? I'm pretty sure if April and Vernon can suddenly handle some guys with machine guns, especially since it's evident they're both normal, every day reporters, then even the most laid-back fan would get a little confused by their sudden fighter abilities. Besides, even the very first teaser makes it clear that the HEROES which have been made, are the turtles themselves.
Not to mention, this movie isn't Transformers. Plain and simple.

I have no idea who you're talking about. Sam? I don't follow Transformers and I really don't care about it that much, all I know is that film is directed by a completely different person than this film.
Look, if April and Vernon wind up outshining the turtles, I'll be just as upset as the next guy. I REALLY don't like it when April is suddenly given all these random, kickass abilities (a la 2k7 and 2k12 April) and the turtles play second fiddle. But given that what we've seen in that this April seems like a normal woman, I don't see that happening.

I actually like the fact they cast relativelly new actors for the Turtles...if they cast famed actors with extensive backgrounds, it might overshadow what they are meant to do, which is be vehicle for the characters to come to life. Case in point, Ben Affleck...everyone is so fixated on him, that I guarantee it will ruin the BVS movie for those who cannot see past the casting, and only the actor. Shoot, because Fox is as well known (for better or worse) as she is, people can barely see past her, and see April O'Neil. I'm glad they made the casting choices they did for the Turtles, and am looking forward to seeing them on screen ALOT. Will the humans be featured, of course - but people are panicking WAY too much.
I would say more, but it would just be the same back and forth about the Transformers vs Sam Witwicky screen time, that has been said over and over again.

If the turtles aren't too expensive to use in cgi form there should be no excuse as to why their on screen presence isn't much. But if they are too expensive to have in the movie for a acceptable amount of time then I will let it slide. And if they can't be in it for an acceptable amount of time because of the money, I will be not only disappointed, but understanding as well. I was forgiving when the same thing happened with the Transformers.

Sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement. To me, there is no excuse. If that's the excuse they want to pull, then either A: put more money into it or B: Don't Use CGI.
If you can make the films back in 1990/1991 and have much of the running time in those movies be with Turtles, then there IS no excuse. Don't Use CGI then.
I think that with 24 years after the fact, then you can do More with animatronics and suits. Even if it was the "all was real except the face" and then just cgi the face movements, then that would help with the 'budget'.
Transformers you can NOT do practical. The Turtles? You can and they DID. 24 years ago. Just do the practical suits with the technology of today. And if you need to use CGI for the faces, then go for it.
And please, I don't understand this "they can move more in CGI." They just need to move like a martial artist can (which they did back in the day). They don't need to move like Super Heroes and stuff.
