Does anyone know of a good place (besides eBay) to find cels from the TMNT cartoon? Or is anyone here looking to sell TMNT cels?

Please reply to lee at math.harvard.edu. Thanks.

there's one site that is in the links section of the technodrome that has a ton that they're selling, of a bunch of different characters and stuff. i can take a look for you and see if i can find it again, it shouldn't be hard. i know this person is eager to sell their cels. (sell their cels... that sounds weird...) i'll get back to ya.

*suddenly appears while waving around her Art Toons post card* I know, I know!

Art Toons is a cool lil establishment based in Northfield, Ohio that sells *loads* of animation cels (and since they also go to the Motor City Con, Don Ivey has done well warming them up to us TMNT fans.) So they also carry a good stash of TMNT cels for a reasonable price too! Here's their website if you wanna see more http://www.art-toons.funurl.com

In additon, they mentioned if you guys can't come to the Chicago con coming up on July 5-6, they'll also be at these other cons later in the summer:

~ Otakon Anime con (Baltimore, MD) July 26-28
~ Motor City Con (Novi, MI) October 26-27 and May 16-18, 2003
~ Big Apple National Comic, Sci-Fi, and Toy Expo (NYC) Nov 8-10

If all else fails, they say you can also go to the website and ask for a mail order catalog! ;D

Not so long ago, I purchased a few MWS Cels. I discovered that this particular cel comes from the episode "It Came From Beneath The Sewers", at around the 8:16 mark, where a dark-haired boy is saying "Now give that thing back!" to the Shredder, right before he kicks him. Apparently, you'll notice that the background is a bit different than what was on the actual cel. Note that on the certificate it says "color reproduction background". What is most differentiating is that the red haired boy is absent on the reproduction cel! I wonder if that was a rough draft that was tossed.

About your cel, pannoni1, I'd say the reason the red haired boy is absent is because he was drawn on a separate cel (who knows where that cel is now?)

And I think the only thing that is a reproduction is the background, the cel is probably authentic.

...Im agree about that! I have also some 100% autentic cels that they are Not exactly identical to the Screencap of the show...! ...!

I think your Animation cel is autentic too...! :)

Here is another Shredder cel from the same episode, around the 16 minute mark, where Shredder says, "Bothelsome (sp?) Mutants!" Note that like the earlier comparison, the background is different, but this time, the bottom and a little bit of the right of the cel is cutoff from what was shown. Posters, feel free to post some other cels in which you know the episode/moment/dialogue in which it came from!

If you ever meet one of the VA's in person to sign a cel (and this goes for anything, not just TMNT), try to ask them to include the line of dialogue that they are speaking at that point!

The point is that there are really two things you shoot for: The cel (which is authentic), and the reproduction background (which is more trivial and not the original layout). For instance, I have a cel that has Raph and Don fighting in Channel 6's reception room (Irma's desk!)

When the thread has been dead for almost 10 years, i don't think anyone would mind if he made a new one...

I also have a Cel from that same scene :tsmile:, the red haired boy must have been on a seperate layer.

Apparently this is among the strangest pairings in terms of background/cel I've ever seen- Leonardo standing inside the disintegrator unit that turned Baxter into a fly!

Cleaning out old storage and found a small stack of TMNT animation cells.

Counting 8 right now.
So the question is...
what's the best way to sell them off?

Well... First a good pic of every cell... then you could post them at Buying/Sale/Trade thread for forum members EDIT:when you get all the post/time needed/ necessary for post there... :toops: Sorry I had seen you are new at forum right now.. .... if that not works... then ebay....! :twink:

With my latest two cels, I discovered one thing on my April & REX-1 cel. The image on the left is the cel as I received it, once again with a different background as is the case most of the time (that background is actually from the Season 4 episode "Splinter Vanishes"!). However, the cel shows that the characters were in different positions as it aired on TV. As you can see on the second picture, when April is just touching her camera, REX isn't quite standing up yet (this scene is right where April meets REX for the first time in "New York's Shiniest".) Then on the third image, by the time REX is standing up as shown on the cel I received, April is already with her camera! This shows that sometimes with multiple characters on the same cel may have movements at different time as shown on the camera. And for that Shredder cel, I know the scene it comes from. Can you guess the episode and the approximate point in that episode?
