So either Vernon pulls the coward card and leaves them all behind or they leave the van or it gets destroyed and escape in the truck...

It's possible this scene is of just Raph when he's with April. They could get jumped in the Channel Six parking lot, sort of like she did in the first movie. Maybe the Foot were trying to catch him when they realized he wasn't with the others, and he gets a little solo smack-down time!

No, this is the snow mountain escape.

BASED ON SET PHOTOS:

3 of the Turtles have been captured and taken to this facility, Raph goes to Megan Fox(in the middle of the day in NYC), he gets the trench coat disguise, Vernon brings them a car but Raph can't fit. So apparently they take the Channel 6 van.

There's a set picture of Megan and Vernon huddled down and running as if avoided gunfire or whatever and they're in the exact same clothes as seen when Raph goes to Megan for help.

This is probably around the end of the second act/beginning of the third.

Assuming that the Turtle Van is part of the Truck chase, Though from the set pics, The Van was in the middle of NYC. So I doubt we see it right after the Snowy Mountain.

True, makes me think that's their transportation to the Sachs fight.

They make it back to the lair, Donnie unveils it and they drive it there.

I'm liking the look of the New Turtle van. I can see what looks like a bar frame around it. Maybe for CGI effects? Does anybody know why those bars are there? Are they for like a green screen on the van or something? This movie seems to have some fun action sequences in store for us. Can't wait.

O.. lol I see. That actually makes perfect sense. So maybe it will be taking a few tumbles. I just googled off roading vehicles and they have that same cage. I'm interested to see what's on the inside. The lego sets have a few computers inside and I think maybe a go-cart? I think it was the movie set I could be wrong. There's really no reason to assume the news van is part of the mountain scene from this shot. It's sitting parked next to a brick wall. It could just as easily be in the middle of NYC. In winter. Hence the snow. We really have no idea where this shot fits into the movie, so it's presumptuous to think it's part of the mountain scene merely based on a bit of snow. It snows in New York, too!!

And I'd imagine April and Vernon have very little time for changing clothes in this movie once the action gets going. OF COURSE they will be wearing the same clothes! Are they going to stop off for a shower and a change when they are all being hunted by the Foot?! I seriously doubt it. :trolleye::trazz:

Since we know, from the actual teaser, there's a big snow escape action scene...

Since we know, from set photos, that there will be a scene where Raph goes to Megan Fox, probably after the other three are kidnapped, asking for help, getting the trench coat disguise, trying to fit into either Megan Fox's or Vernon's car and failing...

And based on THIS photo:
http://i.imgur.com/4dCCtdK.jpg?1

And that there's, I believe, been no other snow anywhere else on the various location sets...

Logically, we can deduce that Megan Fox, Vernon and Raph take the van to rescue the other 3 in the snow mountain location because it's big enough for Raph to fit.

Yeah, I know a Back to the Future Reference, But with Donnie, Anything is possible, Probably can make things fly too.

It's possible they built it small but plan to enhance its size digitally come movie time; considering the size of the turtles, it's hard for me to picture any one of them fitting inside, let alone all four, if it remains the size it is in the set photos.

If we're honest though, hardly anything the turtles do, especially in the old cartoon was very ninja-esque...they traveled in broad daylight out in the open. In the first season they fought Bebop and Rocksteady in the middle of the Central Park Zoo. Lol.

I know it's different for other iterations, but this film seems to be getting its inspiration from a plethora of TMNT sources.

In school we would use color correction to alter the contrast, and even add texture to shiny surfaces...it would make items that see out of place blend in fairly well to its immediate environment, depending on your skills level with the software of course, lol

Because the vans colors are so stark, it sticks out like crazy...so unless that the aesthetic they are going for, I'm betting some post production work will be in play.

This whole area was snowy.

Thanks. You just proved my point that the news van could very well be in NYC in that earlier shot. Obviously, if it is snowing during the mountain scene from the trailer, the film takes place during winter, and I doubt much time passes throughout the main part of the film. Ergo, it would have to be winter in New York (and thus there would possibly be snow in some scenes) as well. It's a simple common-sense deduction. That brick wall could be ANYWHERE. But it looks like an ally in the city based on the walls. The two shots you posted prove that it could indeed have been somewhere in the city.

That's a possibility, too, Powder. My point is that it is STILL most likely winter (duh, it's snow-ING, not just snow on the ground) so it's not going to be summer in the shots in the city. Also, the production shots of April and Raph looked like most everyone was bundled up a bit for cold weather. That would also explain his scarf- it wouldn't look out of place during cold months like it would in spring or later in the year. Again, the movie probably takes place over just a few days at most, and given that the mountain was probably in upstate New York as Powder mentioned, it's not THAT far from NYC to begin with. Which means if it's snowing in the mountains (Catskills, maybe?), it's probably snowing in the city area, too. That's just simple weather observation and common sense at work.

It might not even be currently snowing in the city- just being blown around by the wind (large cities also create their own wind patterns, due to the irregular landscape created by skyscrapers) but could still have snowed recently in those scenes. We won't REALLY know here that scene with the news van takes place until we see the movie, but my bet is that it's BEFORE they leave New York to go after his brothers. Maybe this is how Raph, April, and Vernon escape the city? Theory: Raph fights off a few Foot trying to capture him to imprison with his brothers, while April and/or Vernon hops in the van and starts it up for the get-away. And they end up driving it to wherever the other three are. So it could end up appearing in BOTH locations, but we can't tell where exactly that shot takes place yet.

Obviously, the news van didn't just appear at whatever mountain HQ the others are being held in/at- it had to get there somehow first- probably by April and Vernon "stealing" or borrowing it. That makes more sense than a random news van for Channel Six being in some mountain villain hide-out. (And places like that probably have stronger walls than brick- it LOOKS like an ordinary business or residential-type building wall. Hardly villain stronghold building materials, there...)

Are they going to open the other topics soon? Seems like enough time has passed and everyone is getting along now. I'd hate for something major to come out and not be able to talk about it.

I really can't wait for whatever bit of information or footage or marketing advertisement comes out next for this movie! I'm glad there's only four months, but I need some more to chew on! I haven't been on the edge of my seat this much for a movie since TDK.

That said, I wonder if Casey Jones will be introduced at all in this movie...

I'm guessing most people have seen this interview with Fichtner about Shredder:

Well I play a guy named Eric Sachs and we find out that Eric Sachs is somebody else too. I can’t give away too much in the story but I can tell you that who Shredder is in the telling of this Turtles is unlike any telling of the story before. His connection and relationship to the turtles is a bit surprising and for an actor playing it, the backstory, which comes out in this film, is really intriguing… We made some changes while filming that I thought are just awesome.

When he says, "Eric Sachs is somebody else, too", do you think that it's possible he's confirming Sachs as a Utrom or maybe a reincarnation of Shredder?

Considering the only part of movie Shredder's minifig that is actually a new piece is the shoulder armor, I think it's safe to say the cape isn't meant to be completely accurate.

I never received any warnings but I did notice that a number of my posts have been deleted. Over half. This is probably just because they deleted a number of threads and such. I enjoy posting on here because I am a turtle fan and I like talking to other fans. It's a shame that there are people who are so opinionated about a movie that they resort to personal attacks. None of us really know each other personally and we all have different tastes so I don't think that someone's excitement or disinterest in a movie that's not even out yet says anything about who they are or their intelligence. I love a lot of movies that are probably universally hated. lol. Hopefully they open all of those threads soon and we can go back to a fun turtle loving environment.

Now onto the Turtle Van, anyone else think it's a modification of the Channel 6 van? Or maybe the turtles have some friend who builds machines like Lucious Fox in the Dark Knight Trilogy? I personally think Donatello builds it even though I don't know how he got a van down in the sewer. However, this was never explained in the cartoon either.

honestly, as a member of the 'stoked' crowd, its been really difficult expressing how excited I am about this film, only to have my opinion stomped on by the next six or seven posts, demanding I explain myself or justify my reasoning. A few members here have even admitted to just staying out of conversations entirely because its become a chore having to defend oneself against the negativity they encounter, and I find myself posting less and less.

Does it suck? Sure. Should I expect anything less from the internet? Nope.

ABOUT THE VAN...I thought perhaps it was a mod of the news van. Donnie being the mechanic he is, going back to Movie 1. What I hope the movie explores is how he developed his knowledge base, because in past iterations we're just expected to understand that Donnie 'does machines', without ever explaining how a mutant turtle living in the sewers has this complex understanding of tech that normally doesnt find its way in the sewers. lol. Even in the Nick toon - they have a really intricate system of their van finding its way onto the street from the lair, very Batman-like, and Im like, when the heck did Donnie have time to build that, lol. But i love it just the same.

Well some people don't understand why you can be stoked on a film when they are looking at it from a cynical viewpoint. It's the turtles! On the big screen again!!! In live action!!! Anyone over the age of lets say 27 probably remembers the 80s cartoon. I'm 32 myself. I still remember being 8 years old seeing the first live action movie and how excited I was. Probably one of the greatest moments I ever had in a movie theater was in 1991 seeing turtles 2. The shot where they all jump into the air and freeze frame for the title screen. I remember the theater just erupting into screams from other kids. We didn't care that things were different than the show or comic book. We just wanted to see the turtles we all know and love. This movie, even though they may have changed a few things, seems to have kept the turtles personalities intact. So how could any turtles fan not be at least a little excited.

As far as the van. Even though I would like an explanation, I don't really think it's necessary. Going into a turtles movie or show, you are already suspending disbelief. You gotta go in with the mindset that the turtles did a lot of stuff before this particular story takes place. I would rather the van just be there instead of a long scene of how it was created. At the very most just a quick sentence or dialogue scene of them talking about it. Then move on to the Turtles wise cracking and kicking butt. I feel the same about the origin story. I'm not entirely interested in how the turtles and Splinter came to be. Which is why I love that the first movie just had little flashbacks with Splinter narrating instead of making half the movie about it.

The Turtle van is definitely not related to a Channel 6 news van.....the former would be current model vans and the latter is a 60's something Ford van.

Truth is, we see them as cynical, and they see us as sheep.

I agree, seeing the Turtles for the first time in years in live action, I can't imagine leaving the theaters with nothing but a smile on my face.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to kill actual plot or fight time to why Donnie understands computers on a fundamental level, but I'm hoping they throw me a bone and say something. Lol. They can even modernize it, and say he read outdated textbooks left in garbage bins, and followed up on YouTube. Just something.

As much as some people wanna hate on the flick, I honestly don't believe that they would spend 125 million dollars on a Ninja Turtles movie without at least attempting to please the fans. Seems like they have done a lot of R&D. I might be wrong though, it might be a complete disaster but I think there will be enough in there for us fans to make it entertaining for at least one viewing. If you can get over little things like the noses and origin changes, it's still the turtles we know fighting and joking. I've been waiting 21 years for a new live action turtles movie and 23 for one with Shredder. Hopefully he'll be as badasss as Super Shredder from turtles 2. With more screen time of course.

There wasn't much in the Transformers movies to "please the fans". The bare basic robots where used, the robots that mattered was the ones that had a color scheme, the other bots was usually grey, silver or black. But, there's nothing bad about that, not every movie needs to be like a Marvel Studios movie as long as the end product is good.

They might have filmed the inside of the Turtle van scenes on a soundstage so that all the Turtles, April and Vernon would fit, plus it would probably be easier to act in a controlled environment instead of packing all your actors inside a cramped van together, having it get hot in there, having to get them out, etc etc

I would laugh if that Turtle print acts as camouflage
