If I'm not mistaken today (May 5th) is the 30th anniversary of everyone's favorite mutant turtle brothers. So Happy anniversary to the franchise and to all us fans! :tgrin: :tpizza: :tparty: :trazz:

Anyone have any plans to celebrate today?

I'm going to watch some nick and OT and try to get my collection display sorted out. Might try to have some pizza too.

I will be watching some newer nick cartoons since i haven't really watched them in the last weeks for the most part.I also thought about watching the first episodes of the original cartoon and some 4kids as well as turtles forever but time will tell what I really watch, dont have that time actually;)haha...I am re-reading volume four at the moment from start to finish and am up to issue 16 right now, so Ill definetally be reading issue #17 today!

Hurray! Happy 30th TMNT and a huge thank you to Peter and Kevin for creating them. It's fantastic to think that the franchise has kept going all these years and new fans are joining all the time. They've been an important part of my life for 25 years and I certainly hope that for many more years to come the TMNT stick around.

Today I'll be watching a bit of the OT, reading some classic comics and probably either taking some toy pics or doing some commemorative art to celebrate. Go ninja, go ninja, go ninja, go! :tgrin:

TMNT sadly gets overshadowed by Cinco de Mayo. I'm surprised the Turtles' favorite foods weren't fish tacos with guacamole chips and a tequila. I'm going to watch Turtles Forever as a result since it ties the original comics, OT, and 4kids past!

Watched the first 5 episodes of the original toon this weekend and the first half of 2k3 season 1.

Today's plan is to watch the second half of season 1 and the original movie with pizza at lunch.

Then this afternoon I'm going to play some TMNT 1, 2, 3 on the NES and maybe Turtles in Time on SNES (though that might wait since I will do a full playthrough on it for sure)

I was going to type some more of one of my stories, but it looks like we're going to get a storm shortly, so I'll have to get off. Bummer. Woop woop! Happy birthday to TMNT. A quick over-exaggerated thanks to Peter, Kevin and everybody at Mirage Studios to bring this small, Daredevil parody to what it is today. Also, a thanks to everyone at Fred wolf, 4K¡ds, Nick, Saban, Golden Harvest, Paramount, Image, Archie and IDW for each of there vast incarnations. I also have to thank not only the writers, designers, creators and animators, but I think its also best to thank the voice actors, who with there amazing talents, have brought these characters to life.

30 years, that's one older then me!
(But don't worry I've certainly made up for it!)
Even though the TMNT have gone quiet for periods they've always been in the top of my favourite things (up there with Star Wars, transformers and Batman)
From the original cartoons, comics and movies through to 2k3 and beyond the TMNT have been a great part of my life.
Hopefully we'll see them go from strength to strength over the next 30 with IDW, Nick series and new movie('s) I know I'll keep them alive with my children!

Thanks to Laird and Eastman for creating and keeping the ship sailing!

It literally made both of them into millionaires. You have to remember these two guys were just artists and comic book fans who worked regular jobs at the time. They had no idea what it would become.

It's probably one of the greatest success stories of two normal guys in the comic book world.

Happy 30th Anniversary to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! This franchise will always be my favorite cartoon show from back in the 1987-1997 original cartoon run. When I stop and think about it, these characters are very important to me.

Splinter is like my Obi-Wan/Yoda type of "wise man" character that always seemed to give good advice not only in the show, but also advice that could be used in real life as well. I always felt the most like Raph, and the other brothers with Splinter, April, and Casey always felt like a nice/close/good (even if a strange blend) family. And that kind of smaller family always fit me better in real life. Plus the fact that it's hard for me to trust people easily which is why I don't have many close friends. The TMNT always felt like it was there for me in some way or another.

So thanks to Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird for a wonderful franchise that seemed impossible to ever get real traction in the beginning. And thanks to all the many other people who contributed to all of the different mediums that this franchise has taken.
