And they say that a hero turtlah will save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold on to the blades of the shreddah
Watch as we all fly away
That was so bad but imagine Nickelbeck doing a remix of the clasic theme, perefection!

I'm sure they would make it "different" and interesting" :D
Avril is married to Mr Nickelback Man, maybe she can play some rock guitar and sing the rock too also as well.

But truly Movie sound a bit weird if they include there respective theme song unless it was specifically written for the movie ALA super man. But i just couldn't see the transformers theme or really the tmnt theme in movie maybe elements from it but. Movie sound tracks flow through out the movie and something like the turtles theme which is kind of short in comparison to sound tracks would feel out of place or Shoehorned in

full theme yes, but a hint of a theme song wont ruin the tone, marvel movies all have theme songs of their original toons hidden in each film

In the Amazing Spider-Man 2, You hear the original Spider-Man theme via a ringtone on Peter Parker's phone.
What if the movie has a version of the Turtle Phone and you hear the theme from it, The nickelodeon series has been doing it.

rhody's ringtone in the first iron man was one of the cartoon themes for iron man
edit:
i mean if its something as simple as donnie turns on his comp on you hear the "Heroes in a half shell" tune id be happy
its just something i think TF missed out on

You're joking, right? I'm sorry, but I've listen to the trailer music a lot, and there is no hint of the original theme anywhere in it.

Oh. They will probably make a remake of the theme song by some emo band, and it'll be a bad song, so they drop it from the movie and just release it with the soundtrack album.
Like Transformers did.

Regardless of the OST, I doubt very much that it will ever compare to the 1990 OST. TMNT 2007 was pretty weak for the most part, Jet, P.O.D and Big City Rock (although not the best version of Black Betty) were the only notable tracks on the album minus the score.
If I were to pick tracks for the new OST, I would really take it back to the old days and try to find some unique tracks from notorious artists. But what really matters is the score, anything that can build tension like shredder's suite gets my vote. Although, the rocker in me would really like to hear Skindred's Ninja somewhere on there, just for the sake of it.

They modernized the intro in 2012, but how will they work with that in the movie?
Like in the old intro with the quotes:
"We're really hip"
"Hey! Get a grip!"
"He's a radical rat!"
"That's a flap... jack!"
"Give a break!"
"PARTAAAYYY!!!"
