Pick a song that you would love to hear on the soundtrack for this new movie. What songs would you like to hear in the back round during the fight sequences? Post as many as you'd like.
For me.. I'd like to hear " Use your fist and not your mouth " while watching the Foot get their asses kicked.

There are a lot of songs and artists that come to mind when I think about music in a film, but in all honesty I don't want there to be any actual "song" songs during the movie like most action and any other type of movies. It sounds very corny and amateur most of the time when common pop culture songs are playing in the background, even during action scenes. I think it would be better if this movie took a more MATURE Nolan Batman Trilogy and Man of Steel route, and played actual musical composition scores during every scene, when needed. It makes the movie less generic in a way, and gives it a little more seriousness. Not that typical "try to make it fun while watching" approach. The Batman trilogy and Man of Steel music was so perfectly executed. They used musical compositions that sounded so UPLIFTING and dramatic. It didn't need any radio music, and even avoided the use of it in the actual movie. The reason I say they should have musical scores like Batman and Man of Steel is because there are movies that have just musical scores playing and it sounds very bad. Wolverine for example, during the fight at the end with Viper, the music sounded very cheesy. It did sound dramatic, but it was very early 90's sounding, and I could not help but notice how poorly done it was. If it hits that resonance like Man of Steel and Nolan's Batman it seriously will bring this movie into a better feel. I've heard Brian Tyler's scores and I'm not that impressed. Hopefully he gives it that slight, ethnic Japanese feel. He has a more typical super-hero type of feel in my opinion. I really believe that if musical compositions are done throughout the whole movie and are reminiscent of Man of Steel and Batman (dramatic and especially UPLIFTING) then it can bring the whole experience to a new, mature level.
p.s- I'm not talking about the script: I know we're not getting the Nolan route in this movie. I'm talking about the mature, uplifting musical composition aspect that the Nolan Batman and the Man of Steel movie had.

I agree.. I think it was the music that made Nolans batman films feel so epic. It was constant. Those strings.. But sometimes I like hearing a good song drop in during a fight scene or at the end of the movie. I think we will get musical composition in this film for sure. From Mr. Brian Tyler. I'm looking forward to it. He's a pretty talented guy

I just love rock, and I wish more movies would use it. It's probably why I love Ironman, he used a bunch of it in his film. But, I'd love to hear more with TMNT. I'm not too sure why the creators decided to associate the TMNT with rap only, when various music across the board could work.

Yeah, I'd prefer just a score more than soundtrack myself. Can't think of any songs I'd particularly want in the film.

All I care about is getting a beautifully created set of scores for an OST for this film. Hopefully Brian Tyler can deliver. I could care less about putting other mainstream artists on a TMNT soundtrack. Honestly, what made watching the Transformers movies a "lesser" experience for me was hearing those annoying pop/rock songs Bay decided to put in. Steve Jablonsky's scores were more than enough to hear during the movie. I honestly just want to hear beautifully composed scores during this new film. Adding mainstream artists to a new TMNT soundtrack is fine with me, just keep them out of the actual movie. That's just my opinion anyway.

ok then lets put it this way If TMNT were to have a Sound track CD that isn't featured in the movie as part of the score(except maybe credits cuz that doesn't really matter) which "mainstream" song would you want to hear on that CD
I dont think there is very much debating the Composer for this movie is talented and should do a fantastic job, But what else would you hear and associate with turtles?

I honestly would love to hear some ambient instrumental heavy metal tracks during scenes where the turtles are training in the sewers/rooftops of New York and aerial shots of NYC. Here are two tracks I think would be really cool and bring out a lot of emotion:
Entities - Ontogenesis- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVbZpJ5kcfc
Wide Eyes - Equilibrii (Unmastered version, but hopefully you get the idea. Specifically from 3:15-4:54)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOA3O-Vek1M
The original 3 TMNT movie soundtracks were very hip hop oriented, considering it was the 90's. I love hip hop too, but man I'd love to hear something like the songs mentioned above in the new film. I feel like it'll give off a more badass tone.

Something along the songs in the original Transformers movie, Stan Bush, White Lion or heck, weird Al.
Scenario. Mikey is singled out from the group, stuck in a pizzeria kitchen, lost his nunchaku, he now have to use whatever he can find in the kitchen to fight the Foot, who are using Stun batons for close range fighting indoors. The song should be Dare to be Stupid, or maybe Black Betty as a nod to the Imagi flick, depending on the tone of the fight.
Damn, I might have to make a stop motion out of that, or a animatic...

I would love to hear this song be used. I know it's sort of like pop music, but it just seems so fitting to the TMNT!

But what about music that just uses the instrumentals to known songs, like say, the beginning of Gimme Shelter from The Rolling Stones?

Only if it is appropriate, and to me older rock doesn't fit this film, ofcourse that's just my opinion :)

This track would work for a lot of training, fight and rooftop/parkour scenes in the movie. I can just picture it. Jump to 4:27.

I've always wanted to see this song linked to tmnt somehow:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRfS5HX1OGk
The title's relevance to Leo's narration on the last page of the first issue (strike hard and fade away...). The lyrics can be fitting for the turtles as well.
EDIT: embedding the video doesn't seem to be working for me. Here's the link.
