Geez, how long are they going to keep milking their license for the OT?

Top 10 episodes?

"Legend of Koji" better be on that DVD.

Would almost double dip for new content...but there is none....so...what's the point of this? (The DVD release, that is,)

To continually sell DVDs to casuals or kids watching the Nick show.

Its obvious Lionsgates doesn't want to sell the show to Nick. So they're trying to squeeze out whatever money they can.

They should really just stop. The entire series is available in one set, for crying out loud...not to mention the single season releases.

If you're gonna try and milk it, at least put some effort at it and give us SOMETHING new. Seems like a pathetic cash grab for the 30th.

Seems? It is! I am curious how they determined the specific episodes are fan favorites. Poll fans? Lurk around this forum? Its nothing I need having the whole series already, but I am curious what the top ten favorites are according to Linosgate.

That's a good point. I never heard of a poll, and I'm sure we would have. I mean come on, our forum is named for Krang and Shredder's headquarters. If there were a legit poll we'd have known.

Looks like the box art is claiming its the top 10 episodes as voted on by TV.com

So...in essence how they rank by fan votes on a site like TV.com or imdb, eh? Seems "scientific"...

All the episodes have a 7.0-9.8 rating of the reviews. Its like someone said see which of this obscure rating system has the ten highest rankings. Real smart Lionsgate!

From looking through the website I have determined it possible that the top ten episodes from their bizarre method is in chronological order:

1.The Shredder Is Splintered.
2.Curse of The Evil Eye.
3. The Big Break-In.
4.The Big Blowout.
5. Superhero For The Day.
6. Four Turtles And A Hare.
7. My Brother The Bad Guy.
8. Planet of The Turtles.(highest rated)(2 parts)
9. Night of The Rogues.(2nd highest rated)

All of those episodes are rated with either a 9.7 and 9.8 on TV.com if Adam's find has a plausible lead. What do you think,is the ones I determined from that idea what will appear on the set and if so what do you all think of the set of episode that could appear on the set?

"Turtles and a Hare" being on any Top 10 list makes me depressed. I really hope that's not on the DVD.

Havimg bought the Turtle Van set I really don't need this. And I highly doubt 4 Turtles amd a hare, is that popular. I don't think it's terrible but I certainly don't think its top 10 material.

The Big Break-In is only rated 9.6. There are ten episodes that have a 9.7 or 9.8 rating.

1.Planet of The Turtles (1)
2.Night of The Rogues
3.Cowabunga Shredhead
4.Superhero For The Day
5.Turtles at the Earth's Core
6.Curse of The Evil Eye
7.The Turtles and the Hare
8.The Big Blowout
9. My Brother The Bad Guy
10.Shredder & Splintered

I'm pretty sure this what we are going to get. Though I highly doubt they will only include half of Planet of The Turtles. It will probability be the hour long version,

Wait... not even the bonus material is new?

So there is nothing exactly new huh? Just reshuffling the same content. ...To be expected.

Maybe they should provide actual "never before seen" material and maybe there would be an incentive to buy it. Okay, whatever Lionsgate... whatever... **shrug**

This would be a decent list if it weren't for the god awful, "Turtles and a Hare" on it. Whoever rated that episode so high when it was probably among the series absolute worst episodes needs to be smacked.

Interesting! I figured "Once Upon a Time Machine" would outrank "Turtles and the Hare" due to its somewhat rare status before the Season 10 DVD release. I'd imagine many of those episode listings on TV.com probably don't even have more than a handful of user votes. That seems to be par for the course for the IMBd too.

I'm all for "best of" sets. With the original He-Man cartoon, you're far better off just picking up the best of He-man and the best of She-Ra sets than buying all of the episodes. With the original TMNT cartoon, I chose to pick up all of the episodes on dvd. However, a more causal TMNT fan (Cybercubed's favorites) might just want to purchase a best of set.

That Best of He-Man release (http://www.amazon.com/Masters-Universe-Episode-Collectors-Edition/dp/B0009HBPHQ/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400593253&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=best+of+heman+dved) was actually pretty well done, featuring interviews with Filmation creators who worked on the highlighted episodes. If Lionsgate were to give a similar presentation to selected TMNT episodes, I could probably be persuaded into picking it up for a good price.

I'd like themed sets from Lionsgate. Like a DVD of all the Raph-centered episodes. Or all the rat king episodes. Or all the Baxter episodes

Character themed DVD sets seem a good idea

Oy, I bet you'd probably watch them about once a year too.

Actually, for whatever it's worth, I make sure to cut up the plastic pop can rings thing every time. And it's all because Leonardo said to.

Just rerelease the F**KING TURTLE VAN! You don't need to change ANYTHING ABOUT IT. rerelease it for $100 and I will buy it.
Why they haven't rereleased the van is beyond me.

What? Why? Do you just really want the van or something? If you want the whole series on dvd, all of the seasons are still available.

Yeah I saw the list and I got a little confused. I'm glad that my favourite stories Planet of the Turtleoids and The Big Blow Out are included as they are classics but I wasn't aware that Superhero for the Day and Turtles at the Earth's Core were such well regarded episodes. Shows how much I know.

I think Turtles At The Earths Core is fondly remembered for having been a staple at Blockbuster stores. It was one of the more heavily pushed TMNT VHS tapes if memory serves.

All kids love dinosaurs. I loved that episode as a kid and think it still holds up today.

Superhero for a day was blah though. One of the weaker episodes only mildly interesting because of how retarded Gadgetman was.

It was, good luck renting it. Everytime my family tried it was gone eventually my sis would just record everything TMNT until the VHS Shredded and Splintered was bought by my dad.
