Is anyone else kind of hoping that the guy they have as Shredder in the upcoming movie isn't really Shredder? Like it'll come out he's just taking the identity of a Japanese criminal urban legend and at the end of the movie he'll be dragged off after being told by a Foot enforcer "You stole my boss's name he wants it back."
Like in the one shot of The Mandarin- All Hail the King. Personally I'm hoping this happens or for this guy to just be the current leader of New York Foot Faction.

That would be dope. But I'm fine with the change. I can just accept new and different iterations of characters I like. But that would be sweet in an end credit scene. :tcool::tcool::tcool:

I guess. I just hate the fact that we had to waste this movie, their first showing, with a lame-ass fake shredder. If they bring an actual Asian oroku saki in the sequel then this one is a complete waste of time and money. Just skip all this crap and use that guy NOW.
Hell go all the way and make the tmnt realize they don't need all the toy variant crap and just fight it out in their classic gear.

I don't mind if Shredder is maybe half Japanese and that could explain his features and maybe why he is the head of the New York branch of the FOOT.
The idea of him stealing the Shredder's name and the real Shredder reclaiming his title at the end does seem interesting but at the same time would make me feel like I just watched the turtles fight some impostor which would be a letdown
like in "Friday the 13th part 5" when you realize it was just an impostor Jason.

I'd like it, but Fichtner has said he contracted for three films, so I wouldn't hold my breath on him not being the real deal Shredder for this dimension.

I like the idea of Oroko Saki possessing and living through Eternity in the armor and regardless if you remove the man who the suit takes over Shredder will always be back. Evil never dies.
I can imagine a scene where Donnie is running tests on how to destroy it and much to his dismay fire just moves around it.
Imagine the fight scene where his mask gets knocked off and the spectral face of Oroku Saki peers out and we get another "it's him" remark from the turtles.

I fully expect this.
The scroll that Eric Sachs has in the film shows A Shredder, what appears to be Utroms, and Turtles..... all but confirms that Sachs isn't the real Shredder, but rather just a fanatic.
Now that's not to say we won't see Sachs and his Shredder in future installments, but I think its a forgone conclusion that he isn't THE Shredder.
And in terms of TMNT, we have a precedent for multiple Shredders. So it wouldn't be anything largely new.

I'd be ok with it. We get to see the greatness of actor William Fitchner before the REAL Shredder comes out.
