Looks like there will be a TMNT movie novelization out September 9th.

It's written by Erica David (who has done a lot of other projects like this) and is published by Random House (who publishes the Nick turtle episode books). It will be $9.
Do you think we'll see a sample before the movie's out?
NOTE: As Swift Ninja Fox ended up pointing out, this is a Junior Novel. Sorry for the lack of clarification on my part.

Interesting, I wonder if there will be a comic book adaptation of it too?

I've heard IDW doesn't plan to do one and/or wants nothing to do with one, but there's always the possibility of someone else doing one, I guess.

hmmm not so sure that would infringe on copyright and distribution and lawsuits, i think right now the only guy who can legally make a TMNT comic besides IDW is Laird

I'm not quite sure on all the contracts and such either, but if Viacom really wanted a comic book adaption, and IDW didn't want to do one, I'm sure they'd figure out some way to work it out with someone else.
However, Viacom may not really try that hard. If I had any guess, they'd probably gear the movie comic adaption more to kids (like this book), but looking at the sales of the IDW TMNT Adventures line (which is geared to kids who like the Nick show), they may not think the effort is worth it.

The thing is, I could see them make some sort of prequel comic, kind of like how Paramount had those Star Trek prequel comics for both movies.

Kinda like what they did with Spidey.

Sure I'm game with that. A novel, hell yeah.

Note it's a Junior Novel, sadly.
When Star Wars Episode II came out, the novel was more detailed and interesting than the film. A Junior Novel won't be all that long. Only 128 pages. :(

I agree, for kids it's fine by today's standards. Junior novels are considered for ages 8-12.
Attack of the clones had a Junior Novel as well, 176 pages.
But the average novel is around 400-ish pages. Attack of the Clones was 368 pages. If it was a novelization like that, I'd be giddy. I'd expect a book that hopefully has an author going into detail and adding some stuff that is even cooler than the movie (because you can do that on the page whereas you can't on the screen).
Since it's a junior novel, I'm not giddy. Not trashing a kid's book, just bummed it's not a full on novel is all.

Ditto; why can't they do a kids version and an adult novelization? I mean, they did that for Phantom Menace.
Besides, I like big books and I cannot lie...

this is why i think he is just a really creative troll.....his entire goal is to derail threads and get dissenting opinions side tracked.
as to an unofficial comic adaptation of the film, i'm not opposed to drawing one up......once i get my hands on an updated script or a leaked version of the kiddy novel. i could knock out 30 pages in a week and a half.

...you other brothers can't deny, that when a big book rolls in with an itty bitty page count with that big print in your face you get...... sprung?.... I have no idea where I was going with this..... Oh, yeah! .....I was bored.

Id buy it for my nephew
Grapesoda: Well.. he's like twelve years old.. Not sure if it's his "entire goal" to derail dissenting opinions or not.. I think he's just a kid. But I sure have seen my share of people trying to derail threads on purpose to sidetrack any positive opinion. There are plenty of spam crazy trolls on both sides of the fence but imo I think there is a difference between a troll, and a twelve year old kid that probably doesn't know how to handle himself in this kind of environment.
