so i was going through some old comic of mine and i remembered i owned the parody
green grey sponge suit sushi turtles

its a pretty bad comic but a great parody upon it self

i was lazy and didnt scan of these but looking at the comic i noticed

Don has glasses

this is the best pic i could find online but i can take some better scans later

i would not be surprised it who ever did ( if there was any) research thought this was an official story and borrowed from it

Doubt it, but you never know! :)

The original creators wanted to make Donnie "near sided" in past iterations. I even think Peter mentioned this in the interview about the movie. So I'm guessing that Kevin submitted this to the production team. Plus he's always looking at computer screens
Maybe that's a reason.. who knows

It is the nerd stereotype, nothing less nothing more.

I've read multiple times on Laird's blog that he wanted a near-sighted Donatello. It's probably the only thing about his movie design that I like, being extremely near-sighted myself, but ughhh, stereotypes indeed. :ohwell:

As much as I don't want to admit it; this is true.

But, with that being said, I actually like that he has glasses...:tcouch:

You should know better than to think the guys behind this "film" pulled inspiration from anything more than the first season of the OT & maybe the 1st Mirage comic.

That's a cool coincidence, but I'd be skeptical that they drew inspiration from it. Really I think the sad truth is they wanted to make Donnie as nerdy as possible as he's the smart one ... and you know sticking to typical Hollywood tropes smart people are always nerds with taped glasses.

Considering this movie is shaping up to be a parody...

I doubt they got any inspiration beyond the first half of the first comic.

But I doubt the PD movie will ever be as clever as the better FW episodes.

Yeah this is Platinum Dunes we're talking about here.

They wouldn't know subtly or good satire if it came up and bit them in the ass.
