Here's what, exactly, I'm reffering to with my post heading. It's a little clip from the interview.

"Actually, almost everyone picks Donatello, because he's the best in some ways. It's one of those things...to tell the truth, the kung-fu artist who did the motion capture for us, his specialty was the bo staff. He's best with it, and as a result, Donatello became the best in the game."

The rest of the article is a good read also.

Not to mention Donnie had the best reach and dealt the most damage in the first NES game... RICKY! OUR KUNG FU IS THE SAME!

I always thought it was stupid how much advantage Donatello had above the other turtles in TMNT 1. He did twice the damage of Leo, and had the best range. The only disadvantage he had was he wasn't the best for close combat. I think that Leonardo and Raphael should've been the strongest because they have blades. Blades aren't necessarily the best kind of weapon but they do probably have the most power.

Don was certainly the best in TMNT 1.

My only problem in TMNT 1 with Donatello being the best turtle to play as..

He was my favorite turtle! So I always tried to use him as an absolute last resort because I didn't like to see him get captured :D

Every other tmntgame, I used him to kick major butt with though . ^^

Donatello was the best in TMNT 1, and if you lost him at any point in the later levels... you were done for. Raphael was single handily the worst in that game.

Donatello's range in the TMNT games (well TMNT 4 really, since in the Arcade game and Manhattan Project, their range is almost non-existant) is usually a fan favourite, and he can steal away your teammates points to horde those extra men. :D

I'll always pick Mikey though, bein' in the heat of the battle is the way I like to play.

Booh yeah! I'm always Mikey on TMNT II, III, IV, Hyper Stone Hiest, Tournament Figthers, and well just about everything except TMNT 1 actually.

Don in TMNT1, Don in TMNT2, TMNT3: everything sucked. There is no TMNT 4, The Next Mutation doesn't count. Don was the best in the video games, considering he could fightsomeone infront of him, and smack his stick back if someone pops up behind him.

I'm pretty sure everyone has the ability the fight people infront and behind them. I remember that bein' the coolest features in the game. As for the best in Tournament Fighters.. Not 'cuz I'm biased or anything, heh.. But I'm gonna say Raph, BECAUSE! I remember many a time in my younger years when I would do that thing where you can set up two characters and watch them fight, and I remember Raph was the only turtle that would ever beat Shredder consistantly.

Even though I suck at Tournament Fighters, Leo was always my favorite because I liked that Millenium Wave move he used to do.

Yeah, I did the same thing too. I always did that with fighting games and let the computers fight it out. Raph wins the most in that game during the automated fights.. but I wouldn't say he was the best in the game.

In TMNT 4, Raph may be faster then everyone else, but his attack power is weak and so is his defence. I've gotten the highest score in that game with Mikey so far, since his attacks do the most damage and what not, and he has some range. My score was 1430 or something like that.

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time was for the SNES. For Hyperstone Hiest, I would probably say that Mikey was the best again.

TMNT III however, they are all the same pretty much, just like in TMNT II besides different specials.

ya leo had the best special so he was th best in that one. but in tmnt 4 raphs defence was bad but attack was good.

I have the instruction book on me right now with all of the TMNT's stats for TMNT IV: Turtles in time. Here they are:

Leonardo

Normal Attack: 5
Rush Attack: 5
Special Technique: 5
Defense : 5
Speed: 5

Michaelangelo

Normal Attack: 6
Rush Attack: 4
Special Technique : 6
Defense: 6
Speed : 4

Donatello

Normal Attack : 5
Rush Attack : 5
Special Technique : 7
Defense : 4
Speed : 3

Raphael

Normal Attack : 4
Rush Attack : 8
Special Technique : 8
Defense : 3
Speed : 7

As you can see, Raph's attack and defense is the lowest of the group, but his speed more than makes up for it I guess. His special technique is also the strongest in the game.

Statistically wise, you can see why I like to choose Mikey. :D

I can't believe I still have this instruction bookelt in perfect condition by the way... haha.

Because they wore red bandanas in the original comics.

The picture was actually one of the covers of the original comics, you can see it in the comic section of the site.

It's a revised version of the cover of issue 4, painted by Mike Dooney.

the turtle that you use in a specific game depends on the user's personal preference. Although Donatello did come in handy with his weapon's reach.

I hope they don't make Raphael too slow because I always liked him in the old games when he was the fastest coz I was good at avoiding attacks and zipping around the screen, plus he's my fave turtle obviously

If my Turtle was in any of the games, he would've had equal (if not better) range as Donatello.

Just look at his weapon. :D
