View Full Version : Could a DVD release "salvage" this movie with alterations and changes?

So we know how sometimes DVD/blu-ray releases of movies have special editions where scenes are entirely different, characters are changed, or lines added? Or what George Lucas does to Star Wars?
In order to salvage this TMNT movie, aside from a standard release of this movie that's expected, I propose a "special edition for TMNT fans" version.
This release will fill all the oddities and mishaps of the movie and be a directors cut for fans - by fans.
I propose the following:
1. A CG reimagining of the Turtles. While their size probably can't be helped as April and the Foot are reacting to things bigger than them, they can be redesigned with a, "no nostrils" look. In this remaster the nostrils and humanoid noses/faces of the Turtles are completely gone. At least that way they won't be totally hideous to look at. I've already seen good photoshops online with people doing just that.
2. Eric Sachs will be completely rewritten. He won't be Shredder in the film, he'll be Oroku Saki's white counterpart for the NYC branch of the Foot. Eric will constantly say things like, "I better not fail Saki" or, "Oroku Saki will have my head if I don't defeat the Turtles."
3. Any plotholes the film might have can be fixed with new lines or added dialogue.
4. Ridiculous scenes of Donnie spinning his bo staff to deflect bullets will be completely cut.
What do you say? Can we salvage this movie by doing a official fan-edit?

If you cut the ridiculous stuff, we'll probably be left with 20-odd minutes of footage (if that).
But hey, I'm onboard if the CG reimagining includes photoshopping human emotions onto Fox's face. :P

Director's Cut would e nice...but probably wouldn't happen.
As for Fan Edits...it could go both ways. Besides we really don't know what all should be excised as it hasn't been released yet.

But I am talking about something released after the standard DVD/blu-ray of the film hits store shelves based on the theater release.
Even a fan-production and distributed by fans like how Andrew did his Image comics conclusion would be ideal.

Not a chance. What you're proposing would cost a significant amount of money. The studio would not see a return on that investment at all

I understand what you are saying, but all of the "changes" you posted in the OP are things that are assumed to be in the flick or not in the flick, the only way to know what would have to be tweaked for a fan-edit is to wait and see. What will make hit or miss is the talent of the behind the editors.

But we see those nostrils on the Turtles, and they'll be in every scene they're in. I mean they look like 4 Hulk's crossbred with Shrek the ogre. I was traumatized when I saw their designs for the first time, god oh mighty.
Its kinda funny how Nick made the Turtles much visually younger and smaller than other incarnations, and yet this movie does the exact opposite.

Oh God. I saw that in the trailer and thought, "Nope, those can't be bullets. I must not be looking at it the right way." I guess I was wrong.
Fanedits have the potential to really make a film great. Lots of directors assume that everything they do is right and as a result sometimes make an okay film with glaring errors in pacing, character development, etc. (just look at The Hobbit movies. All in all, they're great, but the theatrical versions are just too long).
The issue is: is this film salvageable? I guess I'll have to watch it to see if it's possible. Considering the ludicrous trailers are just a taste of what's to come, my guess would that the film is "broken" beyond repair. But maybe it'll be great. I dunno.

Assuming that you're correct, even re-doing the faces for 30 minutes' worth of footage would take a really really really long time. The software required for this type of thing would have to be phenomenally expensive.

Two Canadian dudes spent like 5 years spending millions out of their own pocket to film a TMNT documentary, and now its being officially released.
TMNT fans are passionate. When we want something done, we get it DONE. Andrew's Image conclusion, Canadian Turtles TMNT documentary, Andrew Farago's "TMNT Visual History."
Hell I sent like 10 million e-mails to Lionsgate begging them to include "Planet of the Turtleoids" and "Once upon a Time Machine" on the last TMNT DVD set and I got my wish. I wonder how many of my e-mails had an impact.
I'm now begging Shout Factory to get the license to get the 4kids series released properly on DVD. On my hands and knees.

A documentary and a feature film with state-of-the-art CG aren't the same thing.
And if you sent Lionsgate 10 million emails, I don't think that any of them would have had an impact; they probably would've blocked you after the first 20. ;)
Just teasing. Seriously dude, it's a nice concept, but for the film to be spliced enough to reach a standard that you'd consider to be salvageable would be impossible - you'd have to cut out so much stuff that the resulting film would look like Swiss Cheese, for a start.

If anyone has been to the Star Wars revisited site a guy is fixing the old trilogy by going in and fixing inconsistencies, light saber color correction and tweaks here and there, all the things Lucas should have fixed but didn't. It's pretty convincing and often times it blends in so well, you don't even notice. So yeah, it can be done but the question is who's going to spend the time to do it?
On a side note, I'd personally love to see a reedit of sorts for the 1990 movie where all cut scenes are included, removal of visible wires, actor in Donnie's mouth removed etc, facial animation and lip syncing is enhanced and corrected and the picture is cleaned up to remove all film grain.
The new movie to me looks like it would take way more time to fix than anyone is willing to put into it. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing what others are able to do with it though.

...and re-rig all the moving points in the face, then re-animate all head/facial movements for the entire film from scratch by hand and render out the entire thing and get it properly laid over the live footage again. (And whatever I'm not thinking of because I only work a bit with 3D modeling/animation software, not the whole process beyond that and creating such levels of realism is a goal I doubt I'll ever achieve.)
As much as I would love it if they'd have reworked the models a little, that would be a lot harder than simply photoshopping a few images. There would be also, you know, the problem of being given access to the model files and footage in the first place.
I hope that someone else someday can do a very similarly realistic version, but let up on the amount of primate-like features... Sure, nostrils, I have no problem with them being given those and it makes sense, but they could have handled it differently.
In my head I can see a happy medium... I only wish I could draw.

This.
***but seriously tho, CYBER, if you started this thread as a joke, mission accomplished; I've laughed reading all the responses.
If not, as a CG major, what you are asking would take FOREVER. It was easy for a fan to edit a single frame of footage, but to do for even for minutes of footage, would take a crazy long time. Turtle fans may be passionate, but not clinically insane. Editing their faces, to match the new design, the camera angle, and the lighting ... It's daunting just thinking about it.
And I know you were exaggerating, but the Turtles will be front and center. 30 mins? Try 45. Booyah! (Kasha)

Just let it be, man.
Forcing expensive CGI changes simply to cater to your own needs is not only selfish, but unrealistic. Even the, in my opinion, terrible changes made to the Star Wars films weren't as consistent as making digital changes to the leads, but instead adding brief, new moments and background characters. The most significant amount of alteration, in terms of the CGI replacements to the actual, original footage of the film was the Death Star, and even then, many of the original shots remained in the film. They didn't go over and CG every shot of Chewie. Heck, they didn't even "fix" the inconsistent lightsaber shots. Even the digital Yoda replacement for The Phantom Menace was just for the very few, shot scenes he was in.
What you're talking about is replacing the four, digital primaries with new designs, and let's face it, you're not talking about simple "improvements." To make the turtles look like the way you want them to look, they would have to start from scratch, for at least Raph and Donnie. Even simply changing the faces wouldn't be economical, as it would require it to be done for almost the entire movie. Even that would be incredibly expensive. Even in Hollywood, money doesn't grow on trees.
Plus, if this movie's bad, it's not gonna be because of the "ugly" designs. It would be for other problems.
As for changing other elements, you could only practically change as much as what is available in the footage. What doesn't doesn't exist in the footage, doesn't exist at all, and thus, to have a product that isn't a complete joke -- which a simple, lazy edit would be -- it would require reshoots, ADR from the actors, more CG since the principal characters are comprised of effects, additional score, so on and so forth. Once again, expensive and impractical.
Want some advice? If you don't like what you see, wait around for the next reboot. Statistically speaking, even if this film is successful and has sequels, there's bound to be another reboot eventually. Also, for god's sake, leave the filmmaking advice for the filmmakers.

I can totally see this happening with the TMNT.

You just gotta believe. A "redeemable" version of this movie for fans would be the only way to salvage it.
WE. CAN. DO. IT.
You would make a great studio executive. You should apply to become CEO at Paramount, that way, you can get the movie you want, without doing a damn thing except bark orders.
Well, I guess if us fans bitch enough, we will eventually get more and more what we want. It took the third film, but Michael Bay finally got Optimus Prime his trailer.

after just reading the thread title i already knew who started it:tlol:
you use the word "salvage" meaning that its ruined and we can only hope to save bits of it.
Thing is though, it hasnt been released. all youve seen is a couple trailers, and a poster or two. the movie could be incredible for all you know. Before you talk anymore about how awful this movie "is" you should probably wait until you see it
I haven't seen the movie, but I'm pretty sure we're getting goofy turtles decked in extreme 90's gear fighting a Shredder mech and have April be played by Megan Fox and Burne played by Whoopi Goldberg. But you're right. Maybe I should watch the movie first. Maybe all the stuff we saw in the trailer was an acid trip Mikey had in a scene and in the actual movie the TMNT's designs aren't as horrible.

those dont make this a bad movie? so you dont like those things? maybe you wont enjoy this movie? im not saying you will? im saying that just because you dont like those things, it doesnt make it a bad movie at all. because its still tmnt, its still shredder, whether saki or not, the fights and cg look great, and we dont even know 90% of the plot. this movie could be a fantastic movie that you dont like just because of a couple things

I would probably be very excited by this movie if the Turtles had the more traditional faces (without the nostrils)...I could deal with all the clothing, accessories, Megan Fox, Megatron Shredder...but (to quote Frank Booth) their faces just "make me wanna f%*$g puke".
And that effect hasn't worn off the more I've seen them either.
Truth. If they would just digitally remove those goddamn nostrils and the noses, I'd be more excited for the movie.
The Turtles faces are just so god awful. I too can deal with them wearing clothing and being bigger and bulkier....but their goddamn faces. I mean they look like Shrek and Hulk had a love child.

I just hope the backlash against this is so strong, Paramount will force what ever idiot who thought those facial designs were cool, to revamp them to look like a more classic Ninja Turtle look for the sequels/possible reboots in the future.

Sure you want something different that's fine, some people dont like 2k3 or 80's toons, But to say "I just hope the backlash against this is so strong, Paramount will force what ever idiot who thought those facial designs were cool, to revamp them to look like a more classic Ninja Turtle look for the sequels/possible reboots in the future." IS just arrogant and rude, You have no idea what it take to design for movies and as an artist i only have a vague idea of what it would take to design something for a movie of this level we've seen concept art of a more traditional look and chances are there are several different iteration. and to call these artist idiots and in turn pretty much meaning any one who enjoys them are also idiots.

Honestly, I do not care what other people say or do. And history has proven that people like Cube and I are not alone.
Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. I am sure people poured their hearts and souls into the movie, but they apparently didn't realize that they were pretty much bastardizing the franchise. The public backlashed at the changes and WB decided to revamp the whole thing, and now we got TDK saga.
X-Men Last Stand was another movie that had many people working on it, but again, they were so out of tune to what the people really wanted, the backlash was astronomical. And guess what, despite it being the highest grossing movie of that franchise, Fox still listened to the backlash and revamped the whole thing with First Class, and then Bryan Singer came in and made X-Men 3 non existence.
Just because people work hard on something doesn't mean they get off scott free. And Hollywood is a cut throat business, if these hard workers aren't prepared for the backlash and scrutiny that comes with the business, especially when adapting a comic book movie, because the fanboys are the most craziest of all cults out there, then they really have no business being in Hollywood.

They look so real, as real as mutant turtles could be. And how much
emotion they can show is incredible.
Overall, yeah the designs are different and they are by no means adorable turtles, but I like this more dark, gritty, realistic turtles that can actually do more than just move their eyes and open their mouths

I love the designs too, but I feel like its one of the main reason that the movie has the possibility of bombing really HARD. I have talked to a ton of people who don't want to even see it simply because of how the turtles look. If it's really turning that many people away then maybe they should have taken a different route with it. I understand if they worked extremely hard on it and everything, but if people don't like what they see then they are not going to see it.
I really don't know that's just from what I've seen, Im not sure what might happen in August but I am starting to have doubts about how well this movie will do in the box office..

Given how far movies have advanced as far as technology, I imagine a lot of the turtles' facial designs were necessary in order to show their emotional nuances in a believable way. I'm not saying I'm a fan of the nostrils, but muppet heads wouldn't fly either. To be honest, I rather enjoyed the 3rd trailer as it gave us a better look at how much work obviously went into the CGI performances, especially Mikey. As for everything else, I'll reserve all judgement (good and bad) until I see the movie in it's entirety with my own eyes. Not sure how else to make an informed opinion.

I can understand why he wants this. He dislikes the designs so much, that he is afraid we will be stuck with them from here on out if the movie is a success. He's just going by TMNT's own history. The changes that were fine by fans were hits. Colored bandanas, the Turtles loving pizza, the surfing slang for Mikey. The changes that the fans hated rightfully flopped. Venus. Fast Forward.
I don't want the movie to really flop, but I do seriously hope that the studio gets some feedback from audiences who are I hope just as not amused by the new features as Cube, me and a few others, and just go back to a more traditional look for the Turtles. That's all. If it takes the TMNT a dip in the BO to get this done, then so be it.

You seriously have no idea how this works, do you?
Doing all of that requires the original files. And, by your mentioning of Fans doing all of this, then they will have to get hold of the orginal files, edit them, then put them back in the movie.
Trust me, 3D animation is 100 times more complex than Photoshopping.
Bottom line, nothing in this movie needs 'Salvaging' at all for something like a DVD/Blu ray release.

I understand that, but personally me and a few other people really enjoy these designs. I love the fact that they gave them noses, a bigger physique and creepier faces.
You guys has had over 30 years worth of material using the traditional TMNT look, so why can't we just have 1 movie with the designs we like??

pluss lets face it even if the movie does amazing doesn't mean they will change ever other version, or subsequent version to look like the movie. i mean coming out of their shells was highly popular doesn't mean they kept those designs

I dunno. Maybe it's because I just feel me and a few other dire fans who have stood by the Turtles since the 80's, kept them going on despite bumpy roads and heart aches, think it's a slap in the face for being there all of these years, to just take what we loved and known and turn it into something ugly to try and get a new audience in who never appreciated the TMNT as we know it to begin with. If it worked fine for 30 years as it was, why can't it work fine for the next 30 years, as it is?

Wait, how is this a slap in the face to the fans to the 80s fans??? What's is wrong with something different?? I thought the main point of tmnt was the family/brotherly-like aspect not because of how pleasing or adorable they looked..The reason the traditional designs worked for the last 30 years because most of the time either the turtles were drawn into either a comic book or a cartoon show. Also the 90's turtles were created during the time where using rubber suits and non-realism could be passed off as non-goofy. But the problem today is that the faces that were used back then would be passed off as either too cheesy or outdated. If they used that method again then no one would go and watch it with the exception of a few nostalgic tmnt fans.
But now since its 2014, you HAVE to bring some sort of realism to it
Im sorry but I just can't imagine this being passed off in today's movies.
I can see the turtles not having any nostrils in a cartoon or the old 90's movies, but I just can't see that working out in a new 2014 movie.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/94/Jim_Henson_and_Ninja_Turtles_1990.jpeg
But I agree with you about the fact that they didn't have to make the turtles so undesirable looking.

I think for some people as well, having the designs changed kind of feels like it's being implied that there was something wrong with, or silly about the old designs. Not saying that anybody's said that, but some people could get that kind of vibe.
But hey, on the topic of a DVD release of this film - what extras/special features would people like to see? I think we can all agree that we'd definitely like a bit of a feature on how they came up with these designs, what the thought processes and reasoning were behind them... maybe get a look at other concepts/designs that they were considering as well.

Eh, didn't someone take the Phantom Menace DVD, and remade it his own? He erased Jar Jar Binks and made little Anakin mute, and I think he just got rid of the whole political BS, and I thought the fan dub remake was actually a hit among Star Wars fans.
not really, no.
Truth. If they would just digitally remove those goddamn nostrils and the noses, I'd be more excited for the movie.

(hey i'm not a huge fan of soup cooler lips-having mikey, but i'm also not gonna freak and perpetuate an environment of negativity in the fandom)
also, why is getting new fans a bad thing?
because this movie turned them on to the franchise?
instead of fearing what may come of this possible influx of fans, why not just educate em, if it's THAT important to you what EVERYONE ELSE likes.
and i get the whole "don't fix what's not broken" feel and i certainly think this evolution of the designs coulda been better...but stagnation sucks more than risk-taking.

I can't resist calling this thread out any longer. This is ridiculous. They would never change that much stuff and you know it. We don't need another gripe thread for this film. I'm just as annoyed with all the stuff you mentioned as you are, but they will NEVER make changes that drastic for a Home Video release.

It's like batman creating genetic enhanced bats and purposely getting but by then to get actual bat powers. And having everyone act like 'he has the money and the resources, it makes perfect sense'. Or 'having a guy named batman without any actual bat powers just doesn't work. He HAS to have them'.
That's what bugs me the most. Everyone embracing these whacked out changes and suddenly acting like the movie just HAD to do all these stupid things to 'work'. How can you be a fan of something and say their movie will suck if it doesn't add a bunch of stupid changes that were never in the thing you were a fan of to begin with.
Like I said. Wait and see for the reboot. Hopefully that will be the Nolan trilogy to how this movie is the Batman and Robin equivalent b

Okay first of all, WHERE did you get the idea that I became an tmnt fan due to this movie?? I knew about the three 1990's movies, the 2003 series, and a few of the comics before this movie was even announced. I was already used to the fact that the turtles NEVER had noses nor lips with the exception of the few artistic changes that the comics had for a short amount of time. I don't know why I have to be so stuck up in the past to be a "true fan" of the franchise. Im not trying to say you have to like how they look, we all have our opinions and that's fine. But when ridiculous threads like this are being created and the fact that people are still complaining about the faces after TWO YEARS of being exposed to the them, that just pissing me off. How many times do people on here have to repeatedly establish the fact that they think look like Shrek or they have hideous noses or terrible clothing accessories??
How brainwashed can you be?
In what way am I brainwashed?? The point I was trying to make was that the 1990's turtles CANNOT work in a 2014 movie. Don't get me wrong, I love the old movies and the Jim Henson's suits, but they do not hold up well enough for today's generation.

Okay the real reason I was a "fan" of the ninja turtles was not because of their looks, but because of their personalities and the brotherly/family aspect. That was always my main reason for getting into the idea of it in the first place. I HATE the fact that you are making up these speculations that I must be some sort of stupid little kid, who just got into the franchise a few weeks ago, so that means it must be the reason I love the designs. right??
Everyone embracing these whacked out changes and suddenly acting like the movie just HAD to do all these stupid things to 'work'.
Some people are "embracing" these whacked out changes because they actually like them. See I understand if you don't like the sizes, the clothing or the voices, even the noses and the lips. But as a person who understands how movies work in this generation I can also fully understand to WHY they added them to the characters. It helps with facial recognition, adds more emotion to their faces and it adds REALISM. If they are too un-realistic then they cannot pass in a 2014 LIVE-action movie. You don't have to like them for all I care, but please stop saying that they went this route for no apparent reason.
Cause those designs are messed up and you wouldn't have 'liked them' if this crapfest didn't introduce you to them.
Well, yeah. They wouldn't exist otherwise. Common sense, man.

What are you talking about?? I NEVER said that kids have a problem with the nick turtles nor any of the 1990's movie. The old movie still holds up well because it's still enjoyable and fun.
I really like you as a person, but that was not the point I was trying to make. It's just that the turtles old costumes would not fit the standards of today's theatrical movies. Im sorry but im pretty sure a large majority of people would not go see this movie if they used the old puppet heads that were created in the 1990s. Especially with the fact that its competing against GOTG. They are just too outdated for this time. And since this is an LIVE-action movie, there is a reason why they took a bit more of an realistic take on the turtles.
Today's generation has no problem embracing the Nick toon
Well I have talked to kids that have no problem with the 2014 designs, and I've meet some people who never cared about tmnt until they saw how much darker and gritty they looked in the movie. I mean I don't agree with every decision they made for the turtles but you have to understand that they are trying to reach for a new audience not just nostalgic fans and little kids.

Cubed, a Kickstarter for this would be a complete waste of time. Why? Because we can't even get a $30,000 TMNT fanfilm off the ground on Kickstarter (e.g. Blood Brothers), let alone a fan-edit which would cost millions of dollars.
People might hate the Bay faces, but people can complain on the internet for free, too - and hold out for a new Turtles movie with the old faces (also for free).

Okay the real reason I was a "fan" of the ninja turtles was not because of their looks, but because of their personalities and the brotherly/family aspect. That was always my main reason for getting into the idea of it in the first place. I HATE the fact that you are making up these speculations that I must be some sort of stupid little kid, who just got into the franchise a few weeks ago, so that means it must be the reason I love the designs. right??
Some people are "embracing" these whacked out changes because they actually like them. See I understand if you don't like the sizes, the clothing or the voices, even the noses and the lips. But as a person who understands how movies work in this generation I can also fully understand to WHY they added them to the characters. It helps with facial recognition, adds more emotion to their faces and it adds REALISM. If they are too un-realistic then they cannot pass in a 2014 LIVE-action movie. You don't have to like them for all I care, but please stop saying that they went this route for no apparent reason.
I never said you were some kid that just got into tmnt a few weeks ago. And I never said they should bring back the 90s suits. Some of you have some real limited thinking. So they can't use a more classic look without having to go back in time and break out the rubber suits? That's just dumb.
Though honestly if they remade the suits they would have been much more detailed and the faces would either be more expressive or mixed with cgi. Or they could have been all cgi like they are now... But you know... Looking better.
And yes, the changes are stupid and unnecessary. Realism is one thing. But realism did not demand they be that freakishly huge and roid raged. They could have easily have been around April's height or a bit shorter and still be realistic. They could have just worn the bandanas and such and still be 'realistic'. What kinda ninjas wear a bunch of extra crap to weigh then down and make a lot if noise anyway. How can Donnie be stealthy with all that crap he's lugging around?
It didn't have to be this way. Whenever a new movie is made that doesn't use those crappy designs and stick closer to what's more recognizable to tmnt and still work for a 2018 live action movie or whatever year... What will you say then? This is like the 2k3 series when shredder was revealed to be an alien in a suit. There were tons of complaints from people thinking shredder should have been human. But then were lots of people that embraced this alien shredder and acted like he just couldn't be human as if it was impossible up have a normal human shredder that wasn't an incompetent goofball like the 80s cartoon. But bam! We got the nick shredder who is serious, bad ass, can still take on all 4 turtles without trying and is a regular human.
Yeah people will complain and will continue to complain because the changes and screw ups are still there. We're not mindless sheep that take what we get forcefed and like it. This isn't like the green lantern where the movie bombed but he didn't have that big of a fanbase to really care. This is like how Deadpool was ruined in the wolverine movie. He has a huge fanbase and we'll always complain that Deadpool was screwed up. This is tmnt. They screwed it up. And well always complain on how they ruined our favorite franchise. Just like many of you still say tmnt III sucked. And how next mutation sucked. And how tmnt sucked. Just add this one to the pile.

I wish the two factions would just leave each other alone, or at least be respectful in the debate. If you like the designs you are not a "mindless sheep" and if you don't like them you aren't a fan stuck in the past.
It's all opinion and everyone is allowed to have their own. The movie isn't even out and all this bickering. This place has gotten so toxic. Why do the fans insist on having such heated arguements over a movie we haven't even seen yet?
Why do we have to slam people for having a different opinion?

I'm perfectly fine on the Internet, thanks. I just happen to think that fighting amongst ourselves over a movie that no one has seen yet is childish.
And why didn't the movie people do more to stop the bickering? You mean, do a hardcore fan service movie? Or, why didn't they pay attention to what *I* wanted?
Why should they care what a bunch of Internet fans think? Superfans are such a tiny target market. They want the movie to attract a broad audience. Not just the tiny superfan base.

See this is exactly what I want. Just look how much better the Turtles look in the bottom image.
I say we have a kickstarter for a digital "no nostrils, no noses, no human faces" edition for this TMNT movie when it comes to blu-ray. If we all pitch in maybe it can make a difference.
I'd willingly give up to $100 for this cause. And I'm being serious.
See, I think the bottom picture makes the Turtles look far too unrealistic. They also look too weird and freaky.
And $100 won't make a difference either way.

And there we go again. Why do you think a more faithful adaptation would bomb? Why do you think the tmnt are so lame or whatever that they need a bunch of stupid changes and accessories to work for a broad audience?
The avengers did a good job sticking to the comics and the fanbase without a crapload of extra changes, and yet it made big money for a broad general audience. The fanbase still being a small percent.
The thing is had someone else grabbed the rights and made a more 'classic' approach, none of you would be saying 'but why don't they have lips?' Or 'that martial arts jet li shredder was so awesome... But a white dude in full on silver samurai transformers mecha woulda been way cooler.'

What a bizarre idea.

But do they have to fix anything, did they have to fix the 80s show? did they have to fix comics? Did they have to fix any other version ever? There are fan who hate the 80s show some who hate the 2k3 just because vocal people hate something doesn't mean they have to change anything

you (and cubed) don't speak for all the fans. yall know this right? just because you want something, doesn't mean you're entitled to get it and just because you don't like something doesnt mean the thing is wrong.
as a child did you not learn that everyone is different and growing up did you not get taught that everyone will have their own opinions?
you ask how brainwashed people who aren't on "your side" can be, yet your whole angle is that whoever doesnt agree with you and your "DEFINITELY CORRECT" opinions are dummies whose opinions are products of stupidity and submission. who's brainwashed?

Well as such, I am not a millionaire. I am not rich, and a man has got to eat. $100 is all I can spare on nostril removal I'm afraid.
Starting a kickstarter and spreading it outside this forum to places like facebook, youtube, tumblr, etc. and seeing everyone who raged against Bay making the Turtles into aliens might chip in.
$100 isn't a fraction of what it would cost to do this frame by frame without the noses blinking since the colored over parts wouldn't be consistent.

I love the new designs. I absolutely love them. I want a replica model in my living room of Leo. I like refreshing new takes on TMNT and finally someone has gone the way I wanted in a movie - dark, dark, scary, dark.
I like the nostrils now too. At first I was a little wary of them because I'd never seen them on a ninja turtle before. Now I'm used to the idea, it works much bettter. I mean, the cartoon turtles talk about having nostrils but you don't see them. I wonder if they are slits that are so fine you can't actually see them. Not for the 1987 turtles though, that issue was thrashed out in Turtles Forever.
1987 : No nostrils (official from Wikipedia, so it must be right)
Michelangelo: Time to hit the sewers, my brothers!
Donatello 1987: [87' Michelangelo tries to lift up a manhole cover, struggling] These things are a lot heavier in your dimension!
Raphael: Out of the way, tubby. Alright, everybody into the pool.
Donatello 1987: Whew, your sewers really stink!
Donatello: Umm, you don't have any nostrils.
Donatello 1987: Touché.
Michelangelo 1987: Hey, what about the Technodrome?
Raphael: That crate moves about as fast as you guys. We'll catch up to it.

I never said anything about the ji
Henson suits i said that the fan made face with the classic look was just fine and would be accepted by the general audience. Right now they have made them so ugly its revolting. The new faces are probably going to scare all the kids away.

You're out of luck there. Shout Factory do not own the rights to the 4kids series. Ask Nickelodeon to do it.
