Honestly, the only thing appealing about this film is the VFX. Even if the turtles look like ugly idiots, they still look very well-done.

before you put me in the haters category let me assure you that Im looking very much forward to this film, but some things are just so sad...to me at least...I mean how shallow are they going to make those four turtles in the next years??there is already too much one sidedness for my taste on the characters in the nick show, now its filtering into the movies as well....donatello is ONLY the smart one, leonardo will only be the focused leader, raphael always the brute and mikey only the youngster...this is it?..I mean, whenever the situation calls for someone to get angry it will always be raph and if it should make th audience smile they take mike?...

The Turtles are Superheroes, They fit the criteria of what makes a Superhero I think.

I think this is where you take your most turtles joy from that agrees or disagrees with that statement...in the original cartoon I would def agree, the turtles really did 'save the world' a lot...;)it was good fun, but I always found these types of realities and black and white characters more on the stupid side...in the original comics the turtles were definatelly NOT superheroes..they didn't go out on parole to look for trouble, but they always wound up in strange situations and had to take sides..to me it was always more a family story taking place with lots of action and weird adventures.that also counts for the movie turtles so far in my opinion..the turtles never tried to be heroic and do the good thing...

The OG turtles were a play on Ronin and Dare Devil both super hero's IDK i guess I just always saw them as a type of super hero Since i was little, just always thought of them as Such

I'll preface my post by saying that I'm sure the crew and FX team have all worked very hard and put in a lot of their blood and sweat into making this movie and should be proud oh how it looks.

However I have to nitpick the idea that this movie is "realistic" or "grounded" or "darkness" for that matter. It's got to be one of the most unrealistic and over-the-top version yet. Unless he's specifically talking about the mindset that the turtles look is what they think a real mutant turtle would look like I'm not seeing realistic or grounded.

Same with the idea that this is respecting the mythology. I don't think the writers and production staff set out to respect the mythology and pretty much what we've gotten in that regard has been as good as forced on them.

Also to go add in my view on them being being heroes or super heroes. I've always seen them as quasi-heroes. It isn't their mission to fight crime and they don't go on patrol but it does seem that's what they are in this movie and I'd say they are strong to be described as "super". Hell I'm pretty sure they could they could beat the Avengers sans Hulk and even then I'm sure Don's probably got an anti-gamma ray on him somewhere.

And reading the description of the footage, It mentions about Donnie having a Hologram on his gauntlet and his Visor showing what looks like the Detective Mode from the Batman Arkham games.

It might be nice but it's not something which is guaranteed.

Potentially but his presence isn't really enough to excite me if he's nothing like Shredder.

- Shredder's radical armor suit

It was okay until metal peacock feathers flew out of his wrists. Not excited.

- Awesome unprecedented turtles design (with clothing!)

Even if you genuinely like these designs you have concede lots of fans don't. Like the Shredder it's not something that many are going to get excited about. Heck even those positive articles from ign and collider mention the look as something to get over as opposed to something that really works.

If that's your criteria they could have gotten Kate Upton to play April. She's doesn't look like April and isn't really an actress but isn't she the current "hot" girl and I'm sure she'd wear yellow.

Or...go with me on this they could have gotten someone who is hot and can also act. Seriously like the turtle designs this seems to be a turn off for a lot of people.

Pretty much this,. The turtles designs are pretty bad, but they are well made, animated and especially textured. Raph's skin texture look very much like the skin of a dry turtle. And while their shells are stupidly designed beyond belief the textures are amazing.

Ah, somebody angry that not everyone hailing another Bay-o-rama. Good. Let the butthurt flow through you.

As for the Shredder - it doesn't matter if he knows martial arts or not. He is in giant exoskeleton body covered with spikes (which have more spikes because designers are "awesome" like that). He only need punch things to effectively kill them. Besides, if he does any sophisticated move - it will look ridiculous.

I just can see the final battle in the movie: MegaShredderTron does roundhouse kick and..falls from excessive weight, crushing man inside. Hulkrtles crack some shell-jokes and go home to enjoy some pizza and make furniture. The END. :D
