You remember how Mirage Splinter mimicked his master's moves and techniques from his cage? What if Splinter and the turtles got their "ninja" moves from years of watching Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee movies?
For all we know, Splinter could be an american born rat who is obsessed with japanese culture and action movies.

Mikey: Master, why are you wearing that funny robe?
Splinter: My turtles, I think we should become ninjas and fight evil. I saw this japanese movie and thought it was awesome. We should totally be like them.

I thought Splinter's origin as an American lab rat programmed to learn martial arts by scientists was all but confirmed at this point.

That's what I'm hoping happens...that they are all lab animals and they are mutated and the whole reincarnation story line takes place

I'm cool with Splinter being a recarnation of Hamato Yoshi, but i Don't want the Turtles to be recarnated, from humans it seems kinda gross and weird  that's why i don't care for the IDW comics

A human soul reincarnated as a rat is cool, but human soulds reincarnated as turtles is gross and weird?

Eh?

I don't care for either Splinter or the Turtles having a prior life. That whole story line, is, just stupid to me. I hope the movies doesn't go this route.

You remember how Mirage Splinter mimicked his master's moves and techniques from his cage?I like to forget that ever happened.

Mere animal rat only copying moves of a human? Ridiculous. Martial art is so much more than just seeing and copying moves, Splinter can't be a master that way. Not only that, he never learned how to read or write, how the heck does he get the names for the boys from a Renaissance artists book? It's like the creators never thought this thoroughly enough, but heh of course most things are flawed on the early stage.

OT/2k12/IDW origins are much more perfected and acceptable for me because Splinter was human. He had experience, gained wisdom from his master(s)/colleagues and live the martial art life himself, and that is much more logical. He fully understands the ninja way and is able to teach his sons later on.

Wasn't there something posted a bit about about "ninja sensory training" or something along those lines? Or was that from a Lego description and not considered accurate...

But that still has me picturing electrodes jolting rat muscles into ninja positions/moves, acquiring muscle memory of said moves. o.O
