I'll always be against the horrible designs.... and the stupid extra gear... And i'll be seeing red if the movie implies Shredder is just 'some guy' that can't fight worth crap and needs the mecha-shredder-tron outfit to basically do all the fighting for him...
But I want to see this now. Seeing the turtles dance in the elevator, joke about their long-ass name, the Mike and Raph disguised as boobs on a billboard... that's the goofy fun-loving turtles I know, even if they look weird as all hell. I'm actually somewhat looking forward to seeing this.

Of course you do, glad you're enjoying the light hearted parts.
I look forward to see it in theater too. Very much. :tlove:

I'm glad they finally gave us this side of them, esp that elevator scene, certainly helped pull me in more and the free ticket helps (go buy Crush! lol).

Yes. A group of turtles is called a bale. I was playing on the "welcome to the herd" thing the bronies use.

I'm glad you're seeing some things you like and is giving it a chance :) The latest trailers have been pretty fun and very different in tone from the first ones, the movie just looks more amusing to sit through then it did earlier. Even if it may not be perfect, it can still turn out to be entertaining and worth a ticket.

Nice to see others starting to work towards possibly giving this movie a chance. I was always planning on going to see it, to give it a fair shot. Although prior to probably a week or so ago, I was still on the fence about a majority of this movie. Then, all the TV spots, the hype on these forums, and my 5 1/2 year old nephew reminded me of one very important thing: It's hard to deny being a hardcore Turtle fan. I got so wrapped up in what I thought the movie would be, rather than just actually telling myself I needed to give it a fair chance, like I had originally planned from the beginning.
I'm too much of a dedicated Turtles fan to not give it, at least, a watch, before making final judgment. And, I was even weary about the 2012 Nick series, before it came out. And once it did, I'm glad I didn't let myself stop myself. Because I love what they have done with Turtles over at Nickelodeon. It helped open up that highway of Turtles to my nephew, and now even he, is starting to learn all about the Turtles before this generation (all thanks to me).
I guess the moment I fell in love with Turtles, I should have known they'd stay with me for the rest of my existence heh.

This is my feelings exactly Coola Yagami, if it weren't for the humor and the action bits I would utterly avoid this at all costs. But the recent trailers have caught my curiosity and now I have to see it.

If the Turtles designs and faces weren't so hideous I might be excited.
At least there are no alien Turtles or white Shredder.

But what about the Turtles' personalities from what we have seen? do they seem spot on?

Well it's hard to mess up their personalities. Those god awful glasses Don is wearing has to go.

Remember there was a time they said that they were not gonna have any distinctive personalities and let the costumes speak for them. Glad they didn't do that.

No need to state it like its something to be ashamed of.
You think it looks like it might be fun? Screw it, go and give it a shot.
I'm on board for it obviously. I don't care what other fans blab on about. I don't care what the potential Rotten Tomatoes score is going to be. I've seen the trailers and TV spots and I want to see the movie.
If it's good, awesome! If it's bad, life moves on.
All I know right now is that I'm excited for it!

If TMNT has a weekend as 'bad' as ASM2. They'll announce a sequel by monday.

I've been on board from the beginning.
I'll go ahead and consider myself lucky to be one of the hardcore fans to find some merit and excitement in the choices being made behind this film, yet I can understand the difference in opinion.
To fans that just aren't down with this reimagining, I offer condolences and the opinion that, in the long run, this direction gets us much closer to a(nother) Mirage - inspired film than either of the last few films - at least it's being aimed at teens instead of tweens.

I remember the Man of Steel sequel was greenlit 2 days before Man of Steel came out.
And we all know that film didn't exactly get the best reviews.

AMS2 wasn't bad or good. It just is. It suffered from too much stuff crammed into one movie. But for whatever reason I can't hate it either.

Everyone is going to watch this movie. Including the haters.
And if they don't...
I'll see it thanks to Crush giving me a ticket and additional footage helping to win me over, but had it not I'd prob not be going; I pretty much never go to the theater, it's been years since the last time I did. I don't really feel fans have a responsibility to see it or feel as if they do just because it's TMNT, it is simply one film team's interpretation... the Turtle's have no say in how they get represented, if they're done proper justice is up to the film people. If the guys were real and the money went into their pockets, I'd go even if it was bad. Padding the film makers pockets though... eh, don't feel any drive to do that.
If the Turtles designs and faces weren't so hideous I might be excited.
I think they must have designed them from certain angles and didn't look too closely at the others. I'm not serious of course, but still... Have definitely found that some angles (and lighting) are a lot more flattering than others.
The first shots we got... egads. Not the most flattering paired with being smacked with jarring differences in the usual style... that was rough. Not like I didn't expect it to be different, but that was...a lot different.
Now of course I find in the trailer footage what looks like a cute Leo selfie pic and I'm like "That's it, I demand hugs, now."

Utrom Shredder was a hero. He saw this coming and went straight for turtle prime. Now only if he succeeded would this tragedy have been avoided.

I'm actually wanting to see it now as well. The new footage, though I think I watched too much because I got some spoilers I shouldn't have, has me on board for the overall tone and vibe of the movie.
Hell, I might even see it opening night. It's a debate between:
1. Thur night at 7 PM, pick up Pizza Hut afterwards on the way home. Likely have the super awesome pizza from a local place over the weekend.
VERSUS
2. Wait until Sunday and see it at a different theater that offers all-you-can-eat pizza option with the movie.
I'm sort of leaning towards 1 because it means a full weekend of pizza. Because screw healthy.
I'll never like Leo's stupid pointless chestpiece.
I'll never like Don's face being pockmarked.
I'll never like Raph's overall design.
But the tone and vibe of the movies feels fun and I'll enjoy checking my brain at the door for a fun ride.

You know if the Shredder in this movie really is a robot with Kraang inside, I might start to warm up to 2k3 Utrom Saki idea and start watching the show again.. maybe. :trazz:

I want to see it too all looks good to me, they start sequels as soon as the first movie is done these days.
Have you seen some of the movies that get actual theatrical release sequels?
Just to be curious where did Karai originally come from in the entire continuity?
She came from the Mirage comics City at War story arc.
