i personally dig PTX - they're genuinely talented, which is saying ALOT considering how much studio-assisted garbage there is playing on the radio...BUT...

I really do not think this needed to happen at all. I dont know, maybe its just me, but Ninja Turtles, though silly, does not exactly scream, acapella singers to me. The two just dont fit. But when the video premieres, I hope to be proven wrong.

ha! i was thinking the same thing. im hoping they will show new footage interspersed with whatever they are doing. but at this point, it isnt really necessary, the movie itself is just days away from happening.

Wasn't even familiar with this group, but after looking up their YouTube channel... O.O

While this might be a new sound to try out for TMNT, I hope it turns out awesome. Not a fan of the rap song so hope this makes up for it.. lol Make them hurry up, if it's awesome like some other stuff on their channel it belongs posted to my FB...like now.

Yeah, I'm surprised at the shortness. There's even a clickable box that claims it goes to an extended cut on the group's channel, but I don't see where any real length is added.

Ah well. Far as my opinion goes, that rap dun got ninja kicked in the face. (Feel free to feel differently though on an agree to disagree basis.;) )

lol...i think its really bad. i do.

buuuut...

on my way to work this morning i was jammin a lot of ron wasserman OG power ranger music. some of that stuff is cheesy as hell, but still fun. (granted some of it could pass for "legit" rock, where this pentatonix thing is really just kinda pandering).

my point is, i started watching the video ready to roll my eyes, but after a few seconds i kinda felt the same way i do about other "fandom themed" music; doomed to be cheesy, but some people will prolly find something of worth in it. (i have a feeling the nick tmnt tumblr crowd will love it.) i def give it more of a pass than i do shell shocked, tho, even if i'd jam shell shocked more "seriously" than this.

i've only heard this once, and i prolly won't actively look to listen to it again unless i get the soundtrack, but i can see how some people would like it (even in just a nerdy fan way.)

I admit without shame I like it :goof:, it's a fun little thing. Having looked up the group and figured out what they were about before this video posted prob helped. Or that I'm just a woman in my 30s. lol

Had the writers of a chunk of Shell Shocked's lyrics even considered taking the angle that these people did I'd probably feel differently about Shell Shocked. That is, like this silly little video, write in a way that sounds like it's from the Turtles themselves and finding their place in the world as heroes.

We are ninjas, we are Turtles, we will save the day
we are someday gonna be the ones who lead the way

Time has finally come for us to be the greatest
cuz(?) heroes aren't born, they're created

Ok, so it's not some big bad gritty song to go along with the look of giant, gnarly man Turtles in an epic blockbuster... but it's a feel good goofy song that I think the loveable dork side of the Turtles might have been into a few of those pro-Turtle lines. :D


One question though: 0:29 when that girl starts singing... what is she even saying?
