We are only 4 days away from this movie. A lot of people are looking forward to this, a lot of people aren't. Some reviews for this have been good, others not. Some are calling it the worst movie of the year so far.

So, we are only 4 days away from the new TMNT movie on the big screen. How are you guys all feeling? Excited, anxious, happy, not happy? I feel excited and anxious at the same time. I'm really excited for this movie, I have been from the beginning, but some of the bad reviews have scared me, and I really want this movie to do well. I feel I will most likely like it though, because I like Transformers: Age of Extinction, so I think if I liked that, I will like this movie.

I am still excited its the first Turtles movie in 7 years. I am also a Bay fan too. I don't care what the Critics say. Most critics hated Age Of Extinction and I loved it.

I am anxious with anticipation, but it's less excitement for a new turtles movie & more the sort of feeling you get when you're a few days from major surgery. I just wanna get it over with already.

Hopeful. Personally I wouldn't assume liking one movie will mean liking this one, TMNT is - and hopefully will stand on it's own feet as - it's own thing.

more the sort of feeling you get when you're a few days from major surgery. I just wanna get it over with already.
Ironically it will be my distraction for a couple hours from the thought of [not yet scheduled] surgery.

I feel like most fans will hate this movie, or at best say meh. I just hope this franchise can sustain the damage.

It will never be as good as the original, being an 80's kid there was just magic seeing them on the big screen for the 1st time. It's one of my all time favourite movies and it still holds up well regardless of how many people like to pick it apart, it had genuine heart and soul. Hell, that campfire scene still gets to me.

I'm at least looking forward to a fun time on the big screen. The turtles deserve more than just a fun time sure but did we really expect more from Michael Bay? Maybe one day TMNT will get the Batman Begins treatment (Another one of my all time favourtie movies) but I can at least enjoy the new one for what it is.

I'm excited. Like many, I was on the fence until I saw the trailers- and the more I saw of them, the more excited I have grown. It may not have the "magic" or the "heart and soul" of the original, but I believe it will be fun, a decent film (considering the material) and enjoyable enough to not be a complete bomb. Also, I am sitting on at least three FREE tix, so there's that. Two will be for me and my hubby on opening day, the third for his friend if he wants to see it with us (and provide the transportation, natch!) or possibly for me to see it again if he isn't interested. I also still have several bottle caps to redeem codes for, so possibly more tix in the future- which will be cool if we decide to go see GotG.

Excited and a little anxious. I know a few people that saw an advanced screening and loved it. The critics have always been hard on tmnt so I don't know if I could trust them. Gotta see for myself.

Age of Extinction was probably not only the worst movie I've seen this year, but the worst movie I've seen in years all together. It wasn't fun in an enjoyable "DERPA DERP, TURN MY BRAIN OFF ENJOY THE RIDE" kind of way, but I was actually wanting the movie to be finished and be done with. It was way too damn long and I didn't enjoy myself at all. I left the theater with like 14 minutes to go. Oh well, they got my money...they win.

As far as THIS movie goes, I'm still excited. As I wrote in another thread, this film is important to me as someone who has loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ever since I was 3 years old. Nothing will ever beat the original 1990 film to me probably. It's a great mixture of the Mirage series while blending things we fell in love with the TMNT from the cartoon. It's a movie that was way ahead of it's time in regards to comic book movies borrowing story beats from it's source material to tell it's own original tale (The Dark Knight anyone?)....

I'm still very excited and remaining open minded and optimistic about this week. These reviews aren't going to change my opinion going in of course and I think all of us as TMNT fans should be excited we're getting another film this week!

I actually really like the designs of the turtles in this movie (prepares for hate comments)I'm not quite as turned off as I used to be. From certain angles and lighting they don't look too bad especially Leo. I am excited to finally see a more blockbuster looking TMNT movie. Whether it ends up raking in the dough like one remains to be seen.

When waiting to go see GOTG, I had my cousins over, and one of them is an 8 year old girl who loves the Nick toon, and loves Mikey to death in that. (It's really cute, but she likes to write stories and draw pictures of where Michelangelo meets and falls in love with Elsa from Frozen. Mind you, she's only 8, but it's so cute) Anyways, I keep on asking her to come with me to see the new movie, and she just cant get past their looks. Then I showed her the new footage of the Nick toon from CC, and she looked at me, and asked, why couldn't they just make the 4 parter into a 2 hours movie and make that the movie that's going up on the big screen? What do you say when an 8 year old might have a point?

Hmmm, I wonder, the scene where they are sliding in the snow, you think they got that from Batman Begins?

uh, i dont really know how that relates to my post at all. as much as i hate 2k12, that would have made slightly better movie material than michael bay's distinctive body odour turned into a film.

True but who was expecting Age to be any good? We knew it was gonna suck and it was the sequel we really didn't want or need. Turtles will hurt a lot worse because we WANT to see a new tmnt movie and despite all the crap we've seen we still WANT it to succeed somehow. If it does bomb hard it's gonna hurt 1000% worse than Age that we kinda expected to suck anyway.

It's the only thing that's been bugging me about this movie. Everything else I have been ok with. And how do I feel? Right now, I'm just tired and want it to be done with. I have a sinking feeling the buck is going to stop with the first movie in this planned trilogy. The quicker this stuff is over with, the quicker some new people can take over, regroup and try again in another few years.

I was prepared to bash this thread seeing as how this thread's content could easily devolve into another stoked vs leery, BUT that said...

...I'm actually quite anxious. From what I've seen I know I'm gonna like the film because I've liked everything I've seen up to this point so it seems like a logical enough conclusion.

With the exception of: the removal of Hamato Yoshi

I'm anxious bc even though I'm not personally invested in the film (I didn't direct, write, shoot it, etc.) I'm still wondering (hoping) the majority of people out there (including some of my favorite critics) will dig it.

I realize that's silly, but there ya have it.

Kind of ambivalent, but mostly uncaring. Slightly disappointed that I probably can't see it in theaters, but it also doesn't seem like I'll be missing much if I don't. There's just too many things going on right now for me to fully care either way. At the end of the day it's just a movie. My "real life" is a bunch of spinning plates right now, they all need more attention. Just being honest. This movie could be everything I want and I still likely wouldn't be able to go see it, so it's hard to get excited about it.

I just want it to come out so everyone can work the last bit of arguing out of their system once and for all.

Well, I was just commenting how you say that the rack had not too many 2k12 toys (insisting that they are the popular version of the Turtles, which my cousin would agree) and the 2014 Turtles no one is really buying. My cousin right now, would prefer a 2k12 movie vs what we are getting now. She's kind of the target demographics, so maybe her opinion of a 2k12 movie would actually hold more weight than the people who are being paid millions for.

im willin to bet its bc you werent as emotionally invested in Guardians - which calls to question what the die-hards of the Guardians fandom (if there is such a thing) think of this film.

if we were just a bunch of casuals when it came to turtles...im willing to go out on a limb and say we all probably dig it (much like the response on social media has been), but obviously we cant approach it as such, we all love this property too much

This all over.

If TMNT was something brand new that these folks just invented, we probably wouldn't be bothered by it much at all and accept it as easily as the first. But after 30 years, well it's trusting dear old friends to be safe in these film makers hands - and in truth it's people who haven't gone without causing at least a little reason for concern at one point or another - and more than anything I'm sure none of us want to see them get screwed over.

Show me one person who isn't at least a little protective of them, and I'll show you someone who only found out about a new movie last week.

Even if there are some negatives in this, we'll weather it alongside our old pals. But I trust they will be capable of saving their own film; after all, saving stuff is what they do. ;)

Seeing it Thrs, Fri, Sat, and Sun. With the excitement of a little school girl. I love all incarnations of the turtles. Yes even NEXT MUTATION ha ha (hit me with your best shot) but that is just what kind of fan I am. It is my star wars. I can admit that some of the franchise is crazy, bad, and weird. But that is what makes TMNT so amazing. It became its own entity. Deviant artist have created some of my favorite designs of the turtles. I'm having to measure my expectations really carefully because there is so much that I want this film to be, but from everything I've read, I know I'm not going to get what I really want.

I'm also not sure I trust myself to be open minded enough to accept the new design of the turtles.

And as for....

bullet proof shells....

.... I just can't accept the sheer stupidity of this concept. I'm completely frustrated by this as it sounds like the turtles are going to be near-on indestructible, and if that's the case what is at stake? Where's the emotional engagement and the tension?

Over all, I am excited, but endlessly impatient as it will be two and a half months before I see it.

I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. I don't care if it doesn't have a lot of character development or if the story isn't that original. I don't care if it's corny. That's not what I see a turtles movie for (if anything, it does look like at least Raph has some character development). I like what I've seen in the trailers and pics...

I'm mostly just worried about pacing. I've heard some other people say it feels rushed.

Im giddy.. Im beyond excited.. and honestly haven't been this excited for a movie to release in a while. Im a huge DC/Marvel but the TMNT lore is something totally different and its had a part in my life since I can remember. So, regardless of people's opinions or critics reviews, Im just looking forward to seeing the 4 once again on the big screen in a live action film. Its been 21 years since the last live-action film and now Ill be taking my 9 year old son to see it tomorrow evening.. just like my parents did for me at that age.

A bit groggy. Didn't get enough sleep. Kind of hungry, too. I mean, not too hungry, just a bit, y'know?

...ohhh, you mean about the movie. :trazz:

Pretty... apathetic? I just don't care too much. It's likely I'll see it opening weekend, though I'll only do that if I can get in for free or buy a ticket to something else and "sneak in". I'm sure some folks will be upset about that, but I just really don't want to financially support movies by Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman. I'm stubborn like that. Honestly, I don't really want to see it in the theatre at all, but my wife wants to go for some "let's gawk at the train wreck" reasons. :tlol:

I expect I might enjoy some of it. Like, I'm sure there will be some humour that's decent. Really not feeling the designs, or the style, and the plot details I've read are absolutely not what I want to see. There are some definite deal-breakers in there. I'll try to keep an open mind, but I'm not expecting to like the movie.

I don't buy this reasoning at all. Most long time fans have no problem with the Nick toon, or the 2007 movie either. There might be things here and there they didn't like, but they aren't being bombarded by constant smacks in the face that the new movie is doing.

I just have this horrible feeling in my gut, and that's never a good thing since my bad vibes usually come true. Not seeing it opening weekend, but I will see it with my BF since we haven't been to the movies in a long time. He knows I'm not feeling this movie, but at least if it is bad, I gave it a chance. Not getting my hopes up though.

I'm so excited. I just picked up tickets for later tonight. Gonna buy some pizzas and beers afterward and play Turtles in Time on the SNES.
Can't wait!

Cautious. Every new trailer is an improvement from the first one, but I'm still finding things to be cautious about. Not Mikey though, he sounds spot on.

I'm super exited!! Liked the turtles designs from the start and from what I've seen this movie is going to meet my expectations. Counting down to 21 august!:thyper:
