This is all anyone's opinion but here is my personal order.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II:The Secret of The Ooze (1991)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
Ninja Turtles (2014)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993)
TMNT (2007)

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) -The Most faithful to the comics, not a perfect movie but not a bad one either.

2. TMNT (2007) - The movie is well animated and voice acted, but it suffers from identity crisis. It doesn't know what it wants to be or who it's made for.

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II : The Secret of The Ooze (1991) - More or less a guilty pleasure because of it's entertainment value.

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) - It's not a train wreck so much as it is mediocre.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) - On top of having a Nonsensical Time Travel subplot, it's boring and unengaging.

TMNT 1990- They did a lot of great things with this movie and while not perfect it comes pretty close an still holds up to this day.

TMNT 2014- There is much left to be desired in this reboot but what they did do right was done very well.

TMNT SOTO- A very cartoon take on them in this version which is fun to watch but what brings it down was the watered down action scenes and piss poor climax.

TMNT 2007- There is some great CGI work in this movie but for them to go with such a generic story like this I feel it hurt it and makes hard to re-watch.

TMNT III- Just piss poor all around! I mean I get that the budget was small for these movies but to not try and use Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, Rat King or Baxter in any way shape or form is insulting. They saw that SOTO under preformed so instead of doing the logical thing and getting fan favorite villains and allies they use new characters that were beyond boring and terrible.

They should have just not made this movie at all and just did an Animated feature length movie that ties into the cartoon. Fans would have been ok with that i'm sure.

TMNT (1990)- Mostly for nostalgia reasons. No masterpiece but a solid movie.

TMNT (2007)- I don't think it gets enough credit. Sure the story is weird but they nailed the characters. The turtles looked great and the animation is really good!

TMNT (2014)- Probably tied with the 2007 movie but I've only seen this film one time. Same thing as the 2007 movie- nailed the characters, odd storyline.

SOTO (1991)- my favorite as a kid. I still like watching this one for comedic reasons.

TMNT 3 (1993)- no matter how bad the 2014 could have been, I knew it could never be as bad as this! One of the worst films of all time that killed the feature film franchise for 14 yrs

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) - Holds up surprisingly well. It's not perfect, but it's a solid story, represents the characters well, and is surprisingly emotional at points with a nice little message about family for the kids. It's a good movie. I will re-watch this fairly regularly and enjoy it a lot. Still the best theatrical movie by a large margin.

2. Turtles Forever: Oh man. Just a beautiful love letter to the (then-)complete history of the franchise. The 2003 show had been middling for a while, but they really brought their A-game for this big finale, and it's a really sharp, fun, enjoyable treat of a movie. Very close second place.

3. TMNT (2007) - The script has some issues. Okay, a bunch. Some choices made were... questionable. But the tone, animation and directing were pretty well-done, and it had some truly good moments peppered throughout. The score was excellent. Overall pretty enjoyable.

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze - It's a cartoon. It's pretty jarring actually watching this after the first one. Not "my" TMNT really, and the script gets pretty dumb pretty often, but there are definitely moments where it shines. It's uneven because of the goofier tone. The climax is pretty lousy, though. Mixed, but there's stuff to enjoy.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Really, really, really terrible. But it does veer into "so bad it's funny" territory pretty often, which gives it some entertainment value. So there's that.

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014): Straight-up awful, but unlike TMNT3, there's not much "so bad it's funny" value here. It's just dull, loud, and stupid full-stop. Bad script, bad directing. It gives you no reason to care about any of its characters and is a waste of decent VFX technology. Totally derivative and badly-made. Just a bad story and a bad movie.

From what I've seen:
1. Barron's TMNT film. Love it's heart and it's character. The suits limit the action a bit, but all in all it's pretty good.
2. Turtles Forever. Since we're counting it...I like it quite a bit, thought it'd be better if they could have figured out how to get the 90's cast. That and sometimes the FW turtles seem....off.
3. I might get a bit of flack for this but....TMNT III. BUT....I tend to put a spin on it. The costumes...well....the animatronics anyway...suck, but I dig time travel stories, I like to think Yoshi and Mitsu are Hamatos and Kenshin and Norinaga are Orokus, as we're lead to believe Whit is a Jones...tying it all back to the universe. It takes some bending...but I kinda dig TMNT III.
4. TMNT II: Silly but fun. Like Tokka and Rahzar but man is it cheesy.
5. TMNT (2007): The plot is overly complicated...and explained twice....the Foot are unnecessary and really only there to inflate Winter's minions and set up the sequel that never happened. The Turtles are pretty on point character wise, but I loathe the "13 Monsters of Maxwell Winters" plot. Highlight is most definitely the Leo/Raph fight.

TMNT 1990 - The movie is just so perfect, and it'll be hard to dethrone but I wish one day it will. This movie is definitely on a different tier than all the rest. I can easily recommend this movie to any non-fan.

TMNT II:SOTO - A step down from the original but it's still a good movie and all the bad things about the movie are easily overlooked with nostalgia so it's not a movie I could recommend to a non-fan because of that.

TMNT 2014 - Very fun pop-corn film, the turtles are fun and an enjoyable movie, seriously **** the haters.

TMNT 2007 - Cool designs, cool ideas, cool scenes but just a boring plot that brings everything down sadly.

TMNT III: I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be, I enjoy it but the boring plot mixed with bad dialog/acting takes away from all the good things the movie has like the fight scenes or the idea of going to ancient japan.

The villains fit the story though.

TMNT 3 was garbage on every level. You can argue that TMNT 14 wasn't a great movie, but there's no denying it was entertaining. I'm 21 now but even as an eight year old I noticed the difference in overall quality between the first two and the third. When I was eleven I even remember them packaging extra copies of the TMNT III dvd's with 11'' tmnt figures just to get rid of them

If you honestly rate the third movie above the new one you're either just being negative or you have horrible taste in movies and your opinion should never leave your own head

My order (based on enjoyment not critical analysis):

TMNT(1990)
TMNT(2014)
TMNT II
TMNT 07

Not even going to include the third one because that would be implying it's a movie

Nick Series (not really sure if it's bad, I can't watch an episode without cringing)

1. Turtles Forever - yeah, the "overly dumb" 87 Turtles really don't bother me. I just loved the movie.
2. TMNT 1990 - Definitely not flawless, but captured the essence of the Turtles mythos very well.
3. TMNT 2014 - I suprisingly enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't think it deserves all the hate and such a low tomatometer.
4. TMNT II - I don't think this one holds up very well as an adult. It's good mindless fun though.
5. TMNT III - Horrible costumes, paper thin plot, misused Casey, etc. etc. etc. I suppose it has nostalgia going for it, but that's about it.
6. TMNT 2007 - I was so bored throughout most of this film. Watching it is a chore. I do like the rain fight though.

For right now.

1990 TMNT Almost perfect.
2007 TMNT I effing loved Raphael in this one.
TMNT II I liked that the boys had a kid about their age to relate to.
Turtles Forever Great to see Mirage Turtles on the TV for once.
TMNT 14 The Turtles and April were great, everything else was not.
TMNT III This is when the series finally, truly sold out on itself.

Cartoon series.
2k3 Toon up to Tribunal episodes, despite the ever annoying Super Leo arcs, I still loved the long and intricate story arcs. If Nick toon did this, I might actually prefer it more.
2012- I mostly like it, but get irked by Mikey and Raph getting the shaft, but the series is still young, so it has time to grow.
80's, still puts a big smile on my face, and I think it gives all of the Turtles equal strengths. I like it that no one is more powerful or more skilled than the other.
Fast Forward. This is what happens when studios start to dictated what should happen in a show that already had a good path to begin with.
I have not watch NM, and I probably never will.

1. TMNT 1990 - The best of almost everything. Shredder was amazing, head designs looked great for cartoony turtles. Although Judith Hoag is a good actress, I prefer Paige Turco for April.
2. Turtles Forever - Not a huge fan of 2K3, but the concept for the film was pretty great. Mirage Turtles/Shredder made this great.
3. TMNT II - Paige Turco and Ninja Rap. Hot and cheesy. Turtle costumes started to suck though.
4. TMNT 2007 - I thought the turtles looked terrible. The plot was idiotic.
5. TMNT III - as bad as it was...and this was bad...
6. TMNT 2014 - ...it wasn't this.

TMNT 1990-This one by a long shot. The story, the costumes, the tone. Wish there had been more fighting with weapons but that's my biggest gripe. My most watched movie ever and one of my most fav.

TMNT 2014-Far from perfect, a jumbled mess (aren't most turtle movies) but I loved the fighting, the jokes, and had a really enjoyable time watching it. Prefer smaller more traditional looking turtles. It was cool to see Splinter fight, however his voice didn't do anything for me. Didn't hate Megan Fox like I feared I would.

TMNT III-Generally the most hated, but as a kid I was so disappointed how SOTO was so different than the original 1990 version that I could never get into it too much, so I give this one the slight edge. I was glad Casey was back even in an odd way, some reason I thought the turtles looked badass dressed like Samurai. The costumes were ugly, but I get enjoyment from watching.

TMNT II-I miss Judith! Where is Casey? Is that slash? Super Shredder is so awesome, for 10 seconds. I thought Keno was fun, but I felt it was such a goofy movie I was always let down from the first one. 2014, SOTO, and TMNT III are pretty much all ranked the same for me depending on the day.

TMNT 2007-For me almost unwatchable, can't stand anything to do with the Nightwatcher, but I loved Karais voice. I thought the turtles looked good. Hated the monsters.

I'm not all that critical on movies and enjoy them all for what they do bring and 2014 is a whole different one of it's own, so not sure I can really put them in an order I'm comfortable with. There are things about this new one that could rank at each level and right now not too sure where to place it.

However I have to say I appreciated the honest rankings I saw from you guys yesterday prior to my seeing it last night. Found it interesting some of the excited folks still placed 1990 at top, and had me a bit more hopeful for 2014 that it was often placed right behind it.

I think what really stood out with this one, compared to like SOTO and III, was that the Turtles got to use their weapons. Especially Mikey again. No more coldcut combat in here. It's nice to see that the attack on the Ninja culture that was so rampant back in the mid 90's stayed in the mid 90's.

1. TMNT 1990 - Definitely the best of the bunch. It just gets the characters and does an excellent job of bridging the original comics and 87 cartoon.
2. TMNT 2 - My personal favorite as a kid. I still love this film, it's very entertaining and the costume upgrades are almost perfect. I also prefer Don's voice and Paige Turco's April.
3. TMNT 2014 - Lots of problems, mostly script related, but still enjoyable. I hope they correct these problems in the sequel, because I felt the potential.
4. TMNT III - Horrible costumes and dialogue, but it still is sacred ground as far as nostalgia for me (first movie I ever saw in theaters). Bad movie, but I still enjoy watching it every now and then.
5. TMNT 2007 - Nothing particularly bad about this other than I don't feel any connection to it and the plot isn't very interesting or feel TMNT related.

1) TMNT 1990- It's closest to the Mirage comics. It takes the material seriously enough, while still being fun for younger viewers. Raphael overcoming his anger is probably best portrayed in this movie.

2)Secret of the Ooze-I'd say it's even with the new movie as silly fun. Having Tokka and Razar in it gives it a few more points in my book.

3) TMNT 2014-Pretty good action movie. Having April as the main character was a good idea, even if it didn't have the best execution.

4)TMNT 2007-It's a little slow to get going IMO. I liked the idea of the TMNT vs. monsters, but this one just feels forgettable.

5)TMNT III-The turtles time traveling could have been neat, but the antagonists weren't very interesting. It doesn't hold up to additional viewings like the first one.

1. TMNT 2014
I've given this a lot of thought, and I've watched the movie three times. Is it the best plot of of the movies? Nah. Is it the best cast? Maybe… I loved the turtles' actors. Donnie, Raphael and Mikey. Knoxville as Leo is passable. And I just plain prefer this take on the turtles. Their personalities, their look, and their abilities. The tone of the movie is exactly where I'd like it. The intensity of the action, the humor, the pace. I like that Donnie has crazy technology and carries tons of gadgets and Mikey's all jokes. And while I wouldn't fault a movie for the technical limitations of its special effects, I can't help that I’d rather see the turtles in this scale of action. The snow chase, running on rooftops, riding on vehicles, and just flipping around. It’s like a cartoon. Plus, Splinter.
Most importantly, it's the most fun I've had in the theater in years.

2. TMNT 1990
It's always been one of my favorite movies. But there's a huge amount of nostalgia involved. The cast is great, I don't have a negative word to say about any of them. It also did a great job of blending early Mirage stories into one solid plot, even if it did omit all the sci-fi stuff. I think it has the best story out of all the movies.

3. TMNT 2007
The monster idea is not my favorite, but I appreciate the break from Shredder. I particularly enjoy this later view of the turtles, and the story of them drifting apart and coming back together as a team. And I love the Nightwatcher idea. I prefer when Raphael is portrayed not just as angry, but as passionate. Raphael couldn’t sit back while criminal activity continued, and we got to see what kind of hero he would make on his own. Also, CGI action was something I had always hoped for. I really liked the design and animation. It was a ton of fun to watch these turtles in action..

4. TMNT 2
I stopped favoring this movie by my teen years. The fights are so slapstick that they aren’t fun to watch, Judith Hoag and Corey Feldman were replaced. I still enjoy it. I don’t consider it bad, just not as good as others.

5. TMNT 3
Meh. I don’t have much to say, as I don’t consider it much worse than 2. I just don’t care for the setting or the villain. I actually think it’s one of the funnier movies, though. I kinda feel like watching it.

1.) TMNT 1990 - This movie is still one of my favorite films of all time. With it being shot on such a budget, it gives it even more of the gritty Mirage vibe that I've become such a fan of while still finding a way to include the things about the original cartoon that peopled loved. It's got a good story to it and the Ninja Turtles actually have a true group arc and a reason to do battle with the Shredder. Everything feels connected and it's a much more satisfying film.

2.) TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze - Sure on repeat viewings, this one is super silly and even though soccer moms ruined this movie from what it could've been (Utroms!?) at least this one isn't afraid of the story it's trying to tell and goes full into the world of the cartoon. It's nowhere near the epic vibe of the first film, but the Turtles feel like their animated series counterparts represented on screen almost. They borrow a little bit of the "aggression" from Raphael from the first movie, but other than that...everything feels very in line with material from the cartoon. Hell, Shredder is wearing purple this time around! Not the greatest movie, but it's certainly self aware and I can appreciate that.

3.) TMNT 3 - All in all, this film is vile to many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans and it's obvious why. The movie has the worst effects in the franchise and the story is so bland that you could've put any other set of characters in this and it wouldn't have mattered. It's like the studio had an idea for a time travel movie and they thought "...wonder if we could put the TMNT in there?" By this time, the franchise had burnt out a bit and it was starting to show. However, this is the "Batman & Robin" of the TMNT world. A movie so bad and universally hated when in recent years, that's it now fun to laugh at because of how poorly it's put together.

4.) TMNT 2014 - I've said my fair share of negative things about this film as of late and I have a hard time not putting this one down towards the bottom of the list the more I think of it. There's no substance to this movie besides what's on surface level and the more you think about this movie and try to dig deep into it, the movie's become more apparent. I think the handling of Shredder is ridiculous and lacking confidence, April's story outshines anything over what is going on in the Turtle's world, Splinter looks horrible and I think this has to be the most obnoxious and unpleasing version of the four brothers I've ever seen. Moments save this film....screenwriting and lack of direction, kill this film.

5.) TMNT 2007 - Where the third movie is hilarious in the fact they could've put any characters in this film and it would've worked, I feel the uninspired CGI film that came out in 2007 really takes the cake for being one of the worst TMNT films. I think the story is so standard and so formulaic that I can't get invested into anything else that's happening on the screen. With some of the worst fighting we've seen in a Turtles film, this movie just feels like one giant animated blur that is just very forgettable and unenjoyable. I know some fans have really liked this movie, but I just can't get myself to enjoy it.

2. Teenage ninja turtles 2 - Great visuals, decent designs, good action, good comedy, ok story, good actors, a little too corny

3. TMNT - Fantastic visuals, fun action, ok designs, fantastic actors, ok story, felt random to people just going into it blind, less comedy

4. Turtles Forever - Fun visuals, ok story, Shat on the 1980's turtles, bad acting from some actors, good action, great designs, Nostalgia in the face, forced comedy

5. Teenage mutant ninja Turtles (2014) - decent visuals, great action, good acting from most, ok plot with lots of holes, very stitched together last minute, great comedy, crappy designs,

6. Teenage mutant ninja turtles 3 - ****** designs, way too corny, poor comedy, poor action, poor story, decent visuals from other characters and backgrounds, good acting from very few, huge letdown

For me.

Turtles 1990 was great. Still one of my all time faves movies, Jim Henson did a amazing job on the turtle suits, and I believe the turtles were real, when they were sad as when Leo felt disgrace and hurt for losing a brother, to the Jokes swap by Don and Casey. They all seem like real live talking people/turtles. Loved it.

Next is Turtles II, A bit lighter than the first, but I still loved it, the jokes were great. Loved the opening fight. Fun stuff. Shredder is out for revenge, so that had high points. And Tokka and Razor were cool, though dumb. It really made sense, the turtles were not smart when first hit with the ooze, they had to grow up, learn from there mistakes ete. But Tokka and Razor were big and strong and Shredder use that to help with his plans. And Super Shredder, that was amazing.

Turtles III is next, and yes hate me, but I do put it over the 2014 movie. I think the big flaw with MOST people is lack of a villain as cool as Shredder. Non of the villains in III were even in Shredder's class. But that didn't make it not fun to enjoy. The middle ages Japan era, the war between the classes in Japan, and the Turtles in the middle of it all. I loved the jokes, and action. I think it is a highly underrated film, and it was a blast to see in theaters. Not as great as the first or even the 2nd, but as its own movie, it was fun.

2007 CGI turtle film follows. Have only seen it 2 times though. Not much to comment expect it didn't seem like it was really the Turtle's story line, it was really that 10000 year guy's story line to redeem himself of a wrong he did ages ago.

Than just 2 days ago I saw the new movie in theaters. I enjoy it, but there was something's I had had trouble with, CGI Shredder suit look kind of of fake in combat, The origins was something I can not get over with. and the villains plan to poison the city and have some cure they hope will work, just to get rich when well they had money to burn lol. It made no sense. I did enjoy the action, and Mikey's jokes. There was a lot wrong now that I look back.

LOL @ anyone propping up Secret of the Ooze, TMNT III, or TMNT over this 2014 film. My lord the nostalgia runs so deep it blurs vision. Have any of you actually sat and watched say SOTO again in theaters? Because I just recently did. It was horrendous.

The 1990 original holds up. Even if it too was a family film, with comic book characters. It has it's darkness, and gritty feel. But it still has some flaws, just like the new one.

The 2014 film is a superhero film, with familial themes. It doesn't have darkness, or grittiness like the 1990 film. But in it's action the turtles themselves are quite brutal. At one point Raph brags as April catches them celebrating about one of the Foot's chin hitting the concrete so hard he'll be having to drink out of a sippee cup. The turles themselves are actually making a difference in the city before even the big take over the city confrontation. They're proactive.

After having seen this 3x times now in 2 weeks. It has even grown on me since. It has less flaws than you'd actually think. It feels the most plausible of all the live action films, has the most bad ass incarnation of the turtles, and the most frightening / menacing version of the Shredder and Foot Clan.

I get in the 1990 film the family aspects of the Foot is supposed to parallel the turtles. But ultimately they're petty bandits. Nothing that ruthless. In this one they are paramilitary ninja terrorists wreaking havoc on the city. Controlled by Shredder, with Sacks as a public facade front man of integrity.

They were going to unleash a chemical attack on NYC, that's crazy. Not just stealing old tvs, wallets, and letting kids smoke or eat Burger King all day. Who is the more menacing antagonist creating true conflict?

Letting it all sink in ...

1) Ninja Turtles 2014
2) 1990 Original

And the rest, apart from the animated Turtles Forever is absolute GARBAGE. Even if they're filled with nostalgia, or cute moments. Whatever plot flaw you found in the new one, the very premise, tone, and lack of intelligence in Secret of the Ooze is more offensive as a fan, and as a movie enthusiast.

^^
I respect your opinion I just don't agree with it. And yes while the Turtles in 2014 were more brutal they are easily the least ninja like of any incarnation. That's like making the Hulk a ninja just because.

Well...
1-TMNT (1990)
Easily my favorite version of the TMNT, heavily influenced by Mirage comics and a little bit OT thrown in there. Plus the Turtles are actual ninjas in this one. Don't forget good ol' Casey Jones.
2-TMNT 2(1991)
Nostalgia helped this one and the animatronics seem to look better than in the 1st film. Goofy but entertaining. Also liked this Donnie way more than in 1990.
3-TMNT(2014)
I thought I was going to hate this but was pleasantly surprised. Sure the Turtles look like the bastard children of Princess Fiona and the Hulk, sure they don't do much ninjaing, sure Shredder is spiky Megatron Lite, and yes it could have used a bit more inspiration from the comics. But it was entertaining and fun and knew it was ridiculous and just rolled with it. It was fun.
4-Turtles forever(2009)
Nice little movie that has three sets of turtles kicking ass. The final scene is really great.
5-TMNT-3(1992)
It's soo bad and cheesy and just ridiculous at times with painful shifts in tone. The fighting scenes are decent tho and are somewhat enjoyable. My fave scene is when Casey takes the feudal gaurds to a club and they dance to Tarzan boy. When that's a fave scene ur movie sucks.
6- TMNT (2007)
This movie makes no sense, it's boring, it takes itself too seriously and feels like the TMNT were just thrown in there as an afterthought. If this movie was only the Raph and Leo fight scene it would be #2 on this list. CGI was beautiful, but a turd coated in gold it still a turd.

And...that's completely false. Nobody is saying TMNT II has a deep plot, but people enjoy it because its a fun and entertaining movie. Its basically the cartoons in live-action, which is enough for me.

I'm a plant because I have an opinion that both have some flaws, but are near neck to neck as turtle films? What a way to dismiss my opinion with accusations and paranoia.

Why would PD have plants when the movie is already doing big numbers despite it's abysmal rotten tomatoes score? Anyway ... as I said both '90 and 2014 have their flaws. Both are the best TMNT films though. For different reasons.

'90 for the themes, and Casey.
2014 for the entertainment, and superior turtles.

Merged they'd be the perfect ninja turtle film.

I'm arguing with the rose colored nostalgia glasses folks even trying to insinuate that sequels to the 1990 movie are superior than the new one. Films way more childish, and poorly written. Without the entertainment value to off set any flaws in scripting.

Again, I feel I need to jump in here.

Why all the hate? Why can't people like one thing and not another. It doesn't makes us any less Turtle fans. It's like we attacked a family member. So much anger and defenses.

I have to wonder if it's the younger, 2nd Gen, Turtle fans who are just embracing the newest thing and then being passionate and protective about it.

I can honestly say, nostalgia goggles aside, that both the first and second movies aren't perfect and both have problems but they maintain the spirit of TMNT and have charm and heart to it, that regardless of the year released I would enjoy it.

Speaking of new, shiny things, Guardians of the Galaxy, released two weeks ago, is a film that embodies charm, heart, wonder and fun. Is it the best movie ever? No, but it embodies something truly special. I can't say the same thing about the latest TMNT movie.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)- Great film. Aside from Nick this is my favorite version of the franchise. The turtle designs are possibly my favorite turtle designs ever.
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)- okay movie. Lots of action which was good but what little story it had was copied from TASM. The turtles had a great brothers dynamic. However April and especially Shredder were handled badly. Vern was a good character.
3. Turtles Forever- what can I say. Three generations of Turtles group together to end both cartoons in an epic finale. OT turtles could have been a little better written but they are better than most say.
4. Secret of the Ooze- it's a pretty campy movie but there is still fun to be had. I basically think of it as live-action OT. I personally love the Ninja Rap, but Super Shredder wasn't so good.
5. TMNT- this was close to being 4. The Leo/Raph fight is spectacular. But it's all Leo and Raph and little Donnie and Mikey. Plus, boring villains.
6. TMNT 3- uuuuggggghhhhhh.

1. 1990
The first thing I did when I came home after I'd seen the new film was rewatch the original, and I was stunned how good this film actually is! I've seen it several times before but now was the first time that I really realized what a great film this is. It's got action, comedy, and most importantly some depth. I would certainly say it has aged well.

2. Secret of the Ooze
TMNT2 was my favorite flick growing up, and I still appreciate and love it just as much today, that is why I pick it for second spot. Sure, it's got flaws but I don't care. I don't understand all the trashtalk for this film, I love it!

3. Forever
I don't rate this as a "movie" in the same sense as the others, but what the heck! This is an awesome film and a real fan-pleaser. They really nailed it with this one.

4. TMNT
I don't really like the whole supernatural part of this film, it feels a bit out of place, but I do love the action. The Leo vs Raph is the obvious high point of this one.

5. III
Yeah, I'm rating TMNT3 higher than the new one, and you know why? Because I freakin' enjoy this film. I loved it growing up and I can still appreciate it for what it is, despite all the flaws. The rock-n-roll training session during the intro still gets me going.

6. 2014
Although I did (somewhat) enjoy the new film I must admit that I enjoyed all the others more. TMNT 2014 has great action and good comedy, but there is no depth and the story feels a bit strained. Yes, I know that Liebesman directed it but it is so obvious that Michael Bay has had a couple of fingers in the game here, and it just doesn't do it for me. It has it's luminous spots but they are rather few.

I finally saw the movie!!!! and I liked it *_____* it was so much fun and cheesy! (in a good way) Megan was really good too! I was pleasantly surprised about that! :D (Mikey was too hilarious~) The action so awesome....

It was a little fast though, but it didn't bother me too much.

1990 - The best!!
Secret of the Ooze - Cheesy, but I think the nostalgia factor puts it on top of 2014 for me.
2014 - Flawed, but entertaining, with great action. The turtles and Splinter were great. Leaves much to look forward to in sequels
Turtles Forever - Great homage to the history of the turtles and the fact that they're gonna be around for a long time.
TMNT 2007/TMNT III - I just don't like either of these...aside from the Raphael vs Leo fight.

Although I don't agree with putting II and III ahead of the new movie I do agree with you on the title. Especially since Leo was voiced by 40 something year old Johnny Knoxville, it would have made more sense for them to be adults, and would have avoided having two movies with the same title

I'm not counting Turtles Forever since it feels unfair to place it here due to being an extension of the 2003 TV show. So I'm only including the theatrical releases. That being said, I do really like Turtles Forever quite a bit.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
4. TMNT (2007)
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III

I was debating on where exactly to put TMNT 2007 at. I feel it has a better story, characterization, and tone than the recent movie, but at the same time, other than the Leo vs. Raph fight, I kinda found that movie a little... boring. The new movie might have plot holes and other awful things up the wazoo, but it was definitely a lot more fun and enjoyable to watch, imo. And TMNT III, no matter how many times I see it, will always be irredeemable crap.

Had they taken the script of the 07 movie and made it live action like TMNT 2014 it would have been 10 times better. Part of the reason why I can't watch TMNT 07 today is the horrible animation that looks worse than the kids show on TV today

I must preface this by defining what I look for in a Ninja Turtles movie. Essentially it is this: Good portrayal of the turtles, gritty NYC, criminal threat, martial arts and soul. (if it was excellent writing or a clever plot my list would be very different).

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) - It did a really good job of honouring the source material and defining the tone for the franchise, which had become a bit distorted by the childishness of the OT.

2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) - The tone is right for me, the characters are excellent and the acting for the turtles is arguably better than it has ever been.

3. TMNT (2007) - Earns its place with 50% of the plot only. This film did not know or define its audience. It might have been top of my list were it not for the Winters storyline. It's the very best and simultaneously the very worst of the franchise for this reason. The Leo / Raph storyline was just fantastic and something I think a lot of us had wanted to see for a long time, the two-going head-to-head, whilst the 13 monsters plot was just garbage.

4. Turtles Forever - Pure. genius. Pure rubbish and completely meaningless to anyone who is not a fan who was aware of how dire things were within the franchise around the time it was made. But I loved it for its self-deprication and its metaphorical nature.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze - mildly entertaining but little or no substance. A few memorable lines.

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 - Horrible effects, horrible acting with few exceptions, horrible plot. Its redeeming feature is that it has some good martial arts sequences.

1. Turtles Forever - If this counts as a movie, everything was perfect
2. TMNT 2007 - I liked seeing the turtles grown up, affected by passing years the same way as us, having to deal with grown man problems among their family.
3. TMNT 1990 - Great movie, darker than the other ones which I enjoyed, comes close to being as good as 2007 for me
4. TMNT III - Big step down from the above listed. I liked it better than II, sure the characters weren't what I was familiar with, but the action and story were marginally better
5. TMNT II - Not quite as good as III for the reasons above
6. TMNT 2014 - Yeah, it was funny, great visual effects, etc, but completely took the franchise in a wrong direction. It just barely felt like a TMNT movie.

Is the third film really as garbage as people are saying? Yeah objectively it's a poor film, but it has some positive qualities. I thought the emotional connections between Raph and Yoshi and Mike and Mitsu were pretty heartfelt. I also enjoyed that early nineties techno music. I certainly don't think of it as inferior to the recent film.

SotO had so much potential with the origin story and the talk of making Perry an utrom, but it was too slapstick and it falls to pieces at the end with Vanilla Ice and the poor fight between the turtles and Super Shredder. There are also plenty of plot holes.

Three thumbs denotes utter awesomeness which leaves me wishing I had an extra hand so as to give it three thumbs up. Two thumbs - not perfect, but still very good. Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles 1990 - Well, I have to comment on this one because I just re-watched it on Netflix today, and... wow that wasn't as good as I remembered as a kid. I mean, it's not a bad movie, but it's wasn't technically good either; The acting was kind of bad, the lines were unbelievably cheesy, Shredder's plan was so sh*tty, the pacing was off; the story seemed rushed, and Donny and Mikey barely did anything. It just didn't hold up as well as I thought ;but nonetheless it's still a ton loads better than the 2nd and 3rd.

Despite my mixed feelings towards the new movie, I'd take it over TMNT 3 because while the tone of this movie is inconsistent, at least it remembers not to just pander to kids. I just think the final product ended up being a bit unfinished and underdeveloped. It isn't Batman Forever or Batman and Robin bad.

It's not random at all, they loosely based it on Vol. 1 #17 (the original comics). It's a hell of a lot more cohesive than the last 2 films, that's for sure.

I don't like the movie nearly as much now as I used to, because I've seen it so many times and by now I think it's inferior to most of the other versions. But it was still basically my starting point, so in my case, it'll always have that going for it.

Unfortunately, while TMNT III had potential to be almost as good as the first movie, the script feels like a first draft and the acting and props just aren't as good as SOTO even. While SOTO had a sillier plot, with the exception of the final 10 minutes, it was still just about as well produced as the first movie. I still feel that the 2007 movie is that "need to appreciate it more deeply, but just is so unlike the others that it hardly stands out" despite a decent plot/acting. The 2014 is only better than III because at least it had its "moments" with a few giggles and at least a halfway decent final battle.

You know, the more I watch the 2014 movie, I will admit that it IS becoming less and less enjoyable. It's exciting to watch at first because it's a new live action Ninja Turtles movie that we haven't seen in years. And I like the fact that the turtles stayed in character and did not act light-hearted besides Mikey who is suppose to be that way. But a lot of the stuff surrounding it was really off putting. I still think TMNT 3 is still a terrible Ninja Turtles movie but this movie was not very good either. And it's a shame because While my expectations for this movie was pretty low, I still thought the turtles themselves had potential. It's coming to a point where it's just as bad if not, slightly higher than TMNT 3. It's hard for me to decide because also technically, TSotO wasn't a good movie either.

It's like 3 or 4 movies jammed into one.
1-generic monster story
2-immortal redemption story
3-Turtles trying to be a family again
4-The Foot have become rent-a-ninjas

Kind of curious what being "a Ninja Turtles movie" entails. I mean, ideally you're dealing with, y'know, ninjas. And it's a smart idea to touch on the vengeance theme. But I thought TMNT got the characters mostly right and felt genuine. The villain plot was half-baked, but no moreso than a lot of the cartoon and comic filler stories. The plot didn't feel more out of place in a TMNT movie than, say, a stolen plot from "The Amazing Spider-Man". :trazz:

1990 film--it's simply the best. No nostalgia glasses required

TMNT 3--I have a soft spot for time travel stories. The only thing I don't like in this movie is the design of the Turtles.

2014 film--it's not perfect but it stands a chance of making the franchise relevant in the eyes of the masses, which means a possible special edition rerelease of the 1990 film with all of the previously cut scenes and hopefully a full DVD set of 2k3. I understand why so many longtime fans dislike it, but I also see it as kind of a necessary evil. If the corporate people are convinced people will buy anything with TMNT slapped on it, maybe they'll see fit to give us everything else we've been clamoring for that is TMNT-related. At least it's better than the "Transformers" films.

SOTO--it was the first Turtles movie I ever saw, and I have a lot of nostalgia for it...but it absolutely pales in comparison to the original. Also, the more childish elements of the plot now seem annoying rather than endearing.

2007--it had some good moments, but the plot was convoluted. Also, Casey seemed "whipped" and April's character design was too cutesy looking for my taste. The theme of family, as shown by the Turtles and by Winters' "brothers," was more interesting than people have given it credit for being.

I don't count Turtles Forever as I see it as a part of 2k3. But as a whole I would put 2k3 right behind the 1990 film and the OT in front of the 2014 film.

My biggest thing with TMNT 2007? I cared a TON more about the "It's a few years later and here's what everyone's been up to" story, and not at ALL about the actual "saving the world" Story-story. I liked seeing the guys reconnect and work through their conflicts and all that, but the rest seemed tacked on and rushed-through.

Should've just gone with Shredder. It's "lazy" and "cliche" and still literally the best thing they could've done to re-establish TMNT as a film franchise after a decade-plus hiatus. "They've drifted apart, but are forced to reunite once an old enemy returns..." is a much, much more interesting story than the one they actually told. Other than being told, "Hey, this is important!" the audience had no emotional connection to the villains or reason to care.

Half of it's a good TMNT movie. The other half is a just a really long episode of a cartoon show. I think it's much better than 2014 because it's not as obnoxiously terrible and doesn't go out of its way to insult huge chunks of the audience watching it, but it's not great either. Could've been, though.

At least it's better than the "Transformers" films.

I'd honestly rather watch the first Transformers movie than see TMNT 2014 ever again if I had to choose one or the other. Know why? I have no emotional baggage with Transformers, and the first one wasn't great but it was a decent action/comedy. TMNT 2014 is just a bad movie made infinitely worse by the fact that I actually care deeply about the characters and the source material. I can't just "go with the flow" and enjoy it, since I'm too busy mentally wanting to crucify everyone involved in making it. Transformers, meanwhile, is "just a movie", to me. Sequels were trash but I maintain the first one was actually good.

Am I reading this wrong? Because Donnie and Mikey definitely did fall as secondary characters in the 2007 movie.

Also, both the 2007 & 2014 movies got the Turtles' personalities down.

you completely missed what i said

you are mistaking Screen time for Characters being made secondary

lets try again...you have 87 minutes..you have 4 main characters 1 new Main villian. 4 new side Villains. 4 side characters. and 13 monsters (a few we never even see)

now fit all those into that time frame..plus you have to have a huge conflict between 2 of the 4 main established characters ( remember we went into this movie knowing the turtles)

its the Hawkeye thing in avangers..1 or 2 characters have to suffer to give screen time to the bigger picture..doesnt make them any less

unlike 2014 who took the 4 main characters and made them Secondary to a side character

again it would be like going to see Avengers and Maria Hill is the center of the movie and Kills Ultron

Yes TMNT 07 was not perfect but its very clear the Turtles where the heroes in their own Movie

cant say that about 2014

...it would be like going to see Avengers and Maria Hill is the center of the movie and Kills Ultron

I'd be perfectly fine with that. ;) :P

The 2007 movie has good CGI and some good action scenes, but that's it. Is it a bad movie though? I wouldn't say so, I still enjoy it for what it is. But Donnie and Mikey's lack of development cannot be ignored - that has nothing to do with simple screen time. Then there's its story which is its biggest offender. You can defend the movie all you want, but you can't deny that the story is really not that interesting. It's far too generic and boring.

I even enjoy III more just because of how downright silly it is. 2007 Mikey tries, bless him, but never really provides any great comic relief. Him and Donnie never once felt like they were themselves, just caricatures of themselves. Whereas Leo and Raph are fully fleshed out. Maybe if it got sequels that focused more on Donnie and Mikey then I wouldn't have minded so much.

I don't hate the 2007 movie, I really don't. It still sits proudly in my DVD/Blu-ray collection inbetween the 2K3 series and Turtles Forever. I just enjoy the others more, that's all. :)

PS. Hawkeye suffered because he wasn't that interesting to begin with. You can't develop what isn't already there. :P

Figured I'd throw my best to worst in:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze
TMNT
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
Turtles Forever

I had a hard time deciding if I wanted "Secret of the Ooze" above TMNT (not sure why TMNT gets a lot of flack). In the end I went with nostalgia and chose "Secret of the Ooze" to be second. I actually really like TMNT but it does have it's flaws.

I also had a hard time with TMNT2014 and "Turtles Forever". Both are absolute crap but I think I have to put "Turtles Forever" as the worst because not only did it totally (unfairly and arrogantly) crap on the Turtles I grew up with by completely misrepresenting them it also didn't stand alone as it's own thing and you did have to be a fan of the 2003 series which I kind of gave up on early in the first season. I have rewatched some of the first season since seeing the episodes when they were first broadcast and they are good. Just HATE the animation style.

TMNT2014 didn't piss me off nearly as much as "Turtles Forever". TMNT2014 was just just a very hollow and nothing movie going experience for me. I mostly had thoughts like "this is insanely stupid", "meh" and "this is going nowhere". It's better than "Turtles Forever" but not by much and that's not saying much either.

Ninja Turtles (1990) *It amazes me that this film was made this way at the time still a great film.*

Ninja Turtles III *Film gets a ton of hate but I see a lot of good in it. the pathos Raph's arc coming to an end. From being the hot head himself to being a big bro figure for Yoshi, Mike and his crush on Mitsu, and having conflict of staying in the past or going back to the future between the turtles.*

Turtles Forever *Fun movie to watch but I still hate how the bungled the OT turtles abit.*

Secret of the Ooze *The movie is fun and nostalgic and all but it gets into becoming a self parody at the end and it just makes it kind of weird.*

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
A fantastic TMNT movie. Great costumes, fantastic voice-actors and a cool story.
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II
Another great film with cool costumes. I loved Tokka and Rahzar, and Jordan Perry and Keno were awesome additions.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
A great action-flick featuring all the 4 Turtles in the lead. I didn't really like Megan Fox, but besides her I thought it all was really cool.
4. TMNT (2007)
A really cool movie. The fight between Leo and Raph was great! Wish Mikey and Don were more in it though.
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
The costumes weren't good, but it had all the action the second movie was missing. Also, a lot of Mikey, which is great!
6. Turtles Forever
Not a terrible movie, but they completely butchered the 1987 Turtles with dumb jokes and horrible voice-actors. Too bad.

I know this might sound ridiculous, but I recently watched all the TMNT movies pretty much consecutively, and I have to say, I actually enjoyed all of them for their own merits. There are plus points and negative points to them all. I really enjoy just seeing a different spin on them in each incarnation, which is why I'd put each reboot on equal footing. SOTO was good enough that it would also be on a similar ranking, then III would just go last. Having said that, I'll admit I do even kind of like III, even as corny as it was. I just might have to wait another year before I watch it again, LOL!

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
Gets many things right in the story. It still has it's flaws, but it's a satisfying experience. Utilizing elements of the Mirage Comics, some of the cartoon, and still able to tell what it wants. Best film no question, just a great film.

2. TMNT (2007)
Gets a lot of flack, but it is an often overlooked film. It looks nice and though the plot is confusing as shell (;)) it is an easy experience for me. If it had identified the characters more and fleshed out more to the story, it would assist it greatly. Pretty solid, but could be improved on.

3. Turtles Forever
Strong finale to the 4kids cartoon. The newer voices hired for the Fred Wolf cast is hard to get used to though if you grew up with the old cast and loved them. The addition of the Mirage Turtles and Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman were excellent touches to add more. Really good love letter to fans and another good film.

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
The remaining films I find bad, but this one is more boring of a new incarnation. The designs of the Turtles are a combination of the Goombas from the Super Mario Bros. Movie and Shrek and April dominates the film with a hallow narrative. I can sit through it, but it's not something I'd watch all the time. Just a boring, unscrambled mess.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze (1991)
Even if it's easy to sit through and can be nostalgic, it generally doesn't appeal to me. I find it hasn't aged well and the plot leaves more to be desired. Tokka, Rahzar, and Super Shredder had potential but could have had more done to them. It's extremely goofy to the extreme overall and difficult for me to view at times. This and the 2014 film can be flipped flop either way for rankings for me at times, so my opinion for which is better is debatable for me.

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 (1993)
The less said, the better.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III

I have high hopes for the 2016 movie but I'm also scared of what they might do to it.

TMNT II was kind of fun but far too cringeworthy and people were very quick to let 4 giant mutant turtles dance along in the club. I'd have expected people to freak out a lot more.

For me, I guess it'd be...

1) Turtles Forever - This is no contest for me. Maybe I'm biased since while I never completely forgot about TMNT, it was certainly Forever that brought me fully back into loving the franchise, but there's just something awesome about a multiverse crossover that I just can't get over. Sure, it could have been better - the 80's Turtles could have been portrayed more faithfully and with the original actors, and I would definitely have enjoyed some more interplay between characters that exist in both the 80's and 2K3 world (and maybe even the Mirage as well), but for the most part, this movie is about perfect to me.

2) (TIE) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/TMNT - The two films are honestly tied for me. I know the CGI film gets an awful lot of flack, but outside of Mikey never using his weapons - something I can't not notice after having it pointed out to me - I've never really had too much of a problem with it. The action is well choreographed, the CGI is pretty well done, and it remains the only film to finally give us Leo V.S. Raph. It gets some major points just for that. As for the original film, it's just awesome. The suits in some ways aren't quite as good as II's and are better than those in other ways, and I'm not quite as fond of this April as I am the actress from the latter two films, but just about everything else about the film is as close to perfect as any live action take on the Turtles has ever been - and may ever be.

4) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze - I'd be lying to myself if I said that this movie was really 'better' than III, which does get a bit of a bum rap, but while this movie really is goofy as all hell, it's still a pretty fun ride, at least for me. I actually like the character of Keno and wouldn't mind seeing him make a comeback in another incarnation some day, and blasphemous as it may be...I actually have a soft spot for the Ninja Rap. Possibly even more so than T.U.R.T.L.E. Power.

5) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III - Like I said, this movie gets a bit of a bum rap. It's better put together than II is, and a lot of the flack it gets for not having Shredder probably comes from the fact that the OT seems to have started a trend of Shredder HAVING to be a thing for some people to get behind it, which is a bit disappointing really. That said, the daimao and the cowboy aren't really the most compelling of villains. And don't even get me started on those Turtle suits. That's the stuff nightmares are made of...

6) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) - ...and these Turtle designs are the stuff HELL is made of. I mean, I guess they could always be even worse, but...I...I'd be hard pressed to really say how. Shredder's armor isn't much better, Splinter's design may actually be worse than all of them combined. Megan Fox somewhat made a better April than I expected, having only known her for Mikaela in Transformers prior to that, but I kind of think that has more to do with April just being a stronger character with more to work with (even in this version) than Mikaela, rather than Fox actually doing any better per say. For what it's worth though, while this is my least favorite TMNT film, it's still a lot better than I thought it was going to be actually. My expectations going into it were so amazingly low, that I actually enjoyed it in the end. Kinda sorta anyway. It was definitely a more interesting experience than I had with Godzilla, which I went in with extremely high expectations for and kind of left more lukewarm than anything.

2. TMNT 2014
3. TMNT Turtles Forever
4. TMNT 2007
5. TMNT 3 Turtles in Time
6. TMNT 2 Secret of the Ooze

Why SotO last? No real action, no fighting with real weapons - heck no real fighting! Just goofballs doing derpy things. Lame Shredder ("first them, then you..." bwahaha what a twat ). Lame Keno. No Bebop and Rocksteady. Super Shredder is useless. April is dull. That Bill Nye like professor is lame. Ninja Rap does nothing for me.

Such an empty experience.

Looking at these lists I gotta re-watch these movies, all of em to be able to rank them. I didn't expect 2k7 to be that high on a lot of people's lists. I mean maybe I'm remembering it wrong. Screw it, next weekend I'm watching all of em and re-ranking them because honestly, 2k14, 2k7, Forever, and TMNT3 are all objectively bad, but which one is the worst?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990): This film still holds up for me. Love the mix of Mirage stories and the cartoon.

Turtles Forever: Great love letter to everything that came before. It has some flaws, but overall is a lot of fun.

TMNT: Some great visuals in this movie. Weird story. This is one I like, but it would probably be a completely forgotten movie if it had been characters other than the Turtles.

Secret of the Ooze: Too silly, bad supporting characters, Turtle rap. I liked this movie a lot as a kid, but I think this was because of the toy line that came out of it.

Turtles III: The first movie I ever saw in theaters and one of the worst. I like a few moments, but that's it. Everything bad that could be said about this movie has already been said.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014): The most impressive thing is how it managed to be a disappointment when I didn't think I could have gone in with lower expectations.

The Making of Coming Out of Their Shells Tour: I had it on VHS, so I'm counting it. I regret having this in my home.

I've only seen the new movie 1 time, and It was alright. A little surprising actually. I thought it was going to be really bad though... so?

I've never seen TMNT. I'm not big on that CGI crap, and I heard it wasn't that good anyways.

Actually, Turtles in Time was not the original title.

1. Turtles 1
2. Turtles 2
3. Turtles 2007
4. Turtles 3
5. Turtles 2014
6. Turtles Forever (I hated how they treated the OT as little cry babies who should never have entered into the crime fighting biz, the TMNT 2K3 show was good just not the movie.)

I would also count the season endings for the Nick show, as they are usually pretty epic movie situations placed in week to week cartoon. I'd count them up there next to Turtles 1.

Just finished re-watching all 5 theatrically released movies. Ranked from worst to best in my opinion are
5-TMNT. This movie sucks sooo much. The animation is nice, so is the Leo vs Raph fight, but everything else sucks. Splinter seems like an inept uncle more than a fatherly sensei, the turtles getting jobs is neat (kinda well done imo) but ultimately a joke. The Winters plot was dumb, the 13 monsters were dumb, Nightwatcher was dumb, the Foot clan was garbage, April as Winter's assistant was dumb. F**k this movie.

4-2014. The TMNT are hideous hulk like ogre's that are somewhat acrobatic. Splinter is nightmare fuel. Shredder is a low rent s tereotype in a Megatron lite outfit. Aside from that the movie has an ok plot (copied from ASM but ok either way,) ok acting and hammy one liners. All in all its an ok summer flick that was actually kinda fun when you lower your expectations down to almost nothing. It's bad but enjoyable.

3-3 The costumes suck, the tonal shift in random areas and going back in time was stupid. Aside from that, decent action scenes, good villains with tangible motivations and the return of Casey Jones. Also that Tarzan Boy scene is fantastic. It's ok, but fairly feel good and somewhat enjoyable.

2-SOTO This was my favorite as a kid. It's like the OT cartoon set in live action. The animatronics were the best and so very expressive, especially Raph and Donnie. I loved their family dynamic and how the only real plot hole is Shredder surviving. Tokka and Rahzar were fun behemoths to watch throw the turtles around and we got some character development for Donnie. Not great but fun and entertaining.

1-1990 This movie did so much good with what little it had. Judith Hoag was perfect as April as she had a perfect mix of sass and class, whereas Paige was kind of bland, Geller was forgettable and Fox was just... meh. Elias Koteas was perfect as Casey. The foot clan was grounded but a very believable threat. The turtles themselves were all individuals (Donnie though, very close to being Mikey #2) and Shredder was a straight up badass. It isn't perfect and has some eyeroll worthy moments but this movie is by far the one with the most heart and soul put into it. Yeah there are some areas where the lips don't match the words, some set pieces are kinda whack but the fight choreography was great, the characterizations were on point and there were real tangible threats that made you feel for these characters in a way that none of the other movies could capture.

So in conclusion, they get progressively worse but 2014 is marginally better than TMNT.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990): Still the best live action fusion of the Mirage Comics and early episodes of 1987 show.

Turtles Forever (2009): A fun movie that sums up all the great things from 3 different incarnations of the TMNT. Sure the 87 Turtles could've been handled better but at the end of the movie, it was them and Rockysteady and Bebop who saved the day.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014): Not horrible, but not good. It was ok. A little to April centric, but I dug everything when the Turtles were on screen.

TMNT Secret of the Ooze (1991): This used to be my favorite as a child, but now it's flaws irk me. The Turtles never use their weapons, the Foot ninja are less menacing than they were in the first movie, and Super Shredder goes out like a punk. He can survive being crushed by a dump truck, but not having a boardwalk fall on top of him.

TMNT (2007): I don't know what they were trying to accomplish with this movie. It might have worked better as a DTV series.

TMNT III (1993): So much potential, and it was all wasted on a corny time travel story to rescue April. Villains were cornballs, but in the worst possible way.

When I first saw that movie I didn't know about the early mirage comic, but I knew the cartoon very well. I thought it was weird that Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang were not in it. :tlol::tlol:

Here is my list of TMNT Movies from Best to Worst:
1. TMNT 1 (1990) - An Underrated Masterpiece of Cinema that should have gotten an Oscar.
2. TMNT 3 - It is a more serious film than TMNT 2, and it has a somewhat emotional, bittersweet ending to the Original Trilogy.
3. TMNT 2 - Too light-hearted and a bit silly, but still a fun guilty pleasure.
4. TMNT 4 (2007) - What the Hell was up with all that "vigilantes-are-bad" crap? That's what the Turtles are supposed to do! However, this is not as bad as...
5. TMNT (2014) - Shrek Turtles, Megan Fox, Foot Commandos, Super-Villain Shredder... Need I say more?

And time moves on and you get a different set of results....

1st. 2014 movie - the Riff Trax version. It is so so so entertaining and genuinely funny.

However, it doesn't really count.

Ok.
In last place, the second live action. Movie. Secret of the Ooze.
It's just too rushed and a seriously missed opportunity .

Then it's the third live action movie. It's reasonably entertaining, but it's off somehow.

Fourth place goes to TMNT. I really liked the movie s lot on first viewing. Recently tho, I had difficulty sticking with it through to the end.

Top 3. Third place goes to the 2014 movie. All of my top 3, I can easily watch start to finish just now. This is a lot if fun when all is said and done.
The trailer for the new movie printed me to watch it again, and yeah, I had fun.

Runner up. Turtles Forever. It's just so good.

And number one is the first movie. It worked in 1990 and it never stopped working. It's a 100% awesomeness.

Haven't seen the 2014 film. It looks better than it has any right to be based on its approach and producer, but still too hollow and sh*tty for me to voluntarily spend two hours of my life watching it. Being more palatable than the Transformers movies isn't exactly an achievement.

All of them are enormously, bafflingly flawed in one way or another, but it's kind of a miracle the first movie was made at all and is as good as it is. The 2007 film is quite good for what it is, but the fact that it exists with the script and target-demographic it does is kind of a head-scratcher. Great execution of, I think, an inherently misguided concept.

Narrative problems aside (which there are many) I genuinely like the character arc of Mikey.
