Ok so Im watching secret of the ooze on disney XD right now. My question would be, when does this movie take place? When we first see the foot, they're behavior and dialogue suggest it happens right after the first movie. They seem like they rushed to the rendezvous point. Tatsu confirms Shredder is gone and takes over the foot.

When we see the turtles and April, it seems some time has passed. April has moved and furnished a new apartment. She works for a new news station with a new boss, although she was promised a promotion at the end of part 1. The turtles bust up a robbery in progress.

Can anyone shed any light on this subject? I apologize if this was already discussed.

I think it's supposed to be only a short time later since, if I'm recalling it correctly, the Turtles seem to be staying/living at her place and she's a bit eager for them to find their own home again. Single woman used to living alone, I doubt it would take long to get tired of that bunch sharing her apartment. lol

I figure that because of how the Turtles are situated. But it seems the foot clan suggest otherwise. Its a little confusing.

It's really confusing, because the Foot are acting like everything literally just happened, like, within a couple of days. But April and the guys are already re-established elsewhere and altogether coming off as though some time has passed. Simply from a logistical standpoint, it would have taken at least a month for April to get settled in that well at a new apartment, especially in New York City, plus Keno makes it sound like he's been delivering pizza to her place for a good long while, a couple weeks, at least.

They clearly didn't put any thought into the timeline linking the first movie to the second when they were writing it, they just figured no one would notice, and I don't think most people did. It always bothered me a little bit, but then as a sequel it doesn't work very well anyway, it's a completely different movie. It can be argued that it's "okay" as its own movie, but it's a poor excuse for a sequel.

You could say that the Foot disbanded for about a month, rumor got out that the Foot were hiding out at the junkyard, and a few loyal ninja decided to head over there.

I totally forgot that Keno said that. Make the timeline even worse lol.

Im not sure about that. They way they were speaking, it was their fall back spot in case isn hit the fan. And the way Tatsu was speaking, it just happened. The urgency in the foot didn't seem like a month elapsed.

Yeah, the Foot really all had a sense of real urgency. Look how pissed off Tatsu was! It's almost as if only a day or two had passed, based on how he and the other Foot are acting. "I, Tatsu, now lead..." He wouldn't have waited a month or even a week before trying to usurp leadership of the Foot and get them re-organized. The Foot story, as shown, takes place within 48 hours of the first movie, for sure.

And YET, Keno has delivered pizza to April's place so many times, she doesn't even think it's super-creepy when he just casually invites himself into her place and starts poking around, which means at least a week has to have passed, and probably more. Not to mention all the other stuff about April's new apartment and new employer.

The movie just has a completely broken internal timeline. They left it vague because they didn't even know. "A short while later" is as far as they ever got when thinking about it, I'm almost positive. You literally can't make any sense of it if you look at it logically.

I posed this same question to my wife upon seeing this a couple year's back. She suggested though that although what they show IS the Foot Clan regrouping after the Turtles' victory in Part 1, the portion with the Turtles and April in her apartment may have taken place much later. It never states how much time has passed. It something to consider when you think about the possibility of Tokka and Rahzar growing up completely in a day or two, which is what they make it seem like. But in reality they may have grown over a longer period of time. I'm sure at some point I'll go back and rewatch it with a super critical eye in order to determine how much time has actually passed.

I always questioned this myself when it comes to Shredder being in the back of that garbage truck being drove around the city, continuing to have trash dumped on him in that hot New York summer heat.
