dvd releases?

Hey guys I was looking for a list of available DVD releases for tmnt.
I know that the 3 original movies are out in various forms. And the OG series is out in individual DVDs or the box set. I also think the 03 series is out on individual DVDs and box set as well.
There's also some nick DVDs out not sure what is available.
Is there other releases out?

Is there a specific incarnation of turtles on DVD you're asking about, or...?

- The entire original cartoon is out in both a Turtle Van Complete 10 season set, or individual season sets. You can find them all on amazon.

- There is a blu-ray boxset of the first 4 movies all together

- Nick has been releasing the new show on DVD, and a boxset of Season 1 comes out in November

- The 4kids series was all released on DVD 10 years ago, but its all out of print now and hard to find. I suggest watching the series on youtube in the meantime.

The entire original cartoon series is available in separate releases and a box set. All the movies except the new one (obviously) are available, including TMNT. The Next Mutation was just recently released on DVD. The Nick series has the first season available in separate volumes, but a box set of the first season is coming this Fall. The first two volumes of the second season are also available. There's also a few "one off" DVDs for the Nick series...for example there's one called "Pulverizer Power" which just includes the three episodes that have him in it.

I believe The Next Mutation is also on Netflix. It's not that good, but if you want to watch it it might be on the American version.

That horrible "new" theme song though. It's ridiculously a shame they lost the rights to the original one from when the show was on the air. That one kind of got me pumped for such a silly show.

Ahh, I didn't actually play the show via Netflix. I saw it all on DVD but have seen the show displayed on the Netflix menu page. I will have to listen to this new theme song :lol:

Original theme was catchy and suited the show well. The Netflix theme was okay, but a bit out of place.

Well that wouldn't have worked because the show was trying to get rid of the "Teenage" aspect by having them be 18....even though 18 is still clearly a teenager are frame. They were just trying to make them older which is why they dropped Teenage Mutant from the franchise's title.

Bad move if you ask me. And as you said 18 is still a teenager. I just meant that those new words would have made the theme sound better.

I think they're both terrible, but the original has a sort of quriky charm to it, ya know? This is having never seen The Next Mutation, and just having first heard both tunes.

to a degree, in this they are not Blood related but they are basically brothers anyway, this is so they can flirt with venus and stuff. Shredder still has the scratches on his face I believe and part of splinters ear is cut off. They take out shredder within 2 episodes but he appears again later on. Outside of that nothing really

While the new one is catchy, random techno stuff doesn't really fit the show, and the lyrics are very generic. The old one fit the show perfectly because of how goofy it was (plus it was kind of catchy too). It's understandable why the new one isn't that great. It was either just thrown together for the brief re-runs/DVD/Netflix release, or it was some unused theme song. (Also I noticed that they kept in the brief clip of yellow Leonardo).

Exactly. By turning them into not being blood related, they were able to write in little jokes of them being cutesy with Venus without it being creepy.

Also, I kind of thought the Dragon Lord was a cool character. Shame that the show was kind of silly otherwise they could've done some really neat things with him as a villain and a concept.

I believe it was moreso trying to keep up with the times. It was probably
on par with 1987 series with the silly to serious ratio. Unchain my heart is still one of the best story arcs in the franchise. Dragon Lord, Simon Bonesteel, Silver, and the vampires were all great villains. Dr Quease was basically their version of baxter stockman. The big problem here was the lack of change to that point in the franchise While there was a big leap from the comics to the cartoons this took it up a notch. As turtle fans and people in general now we are more adept to change and that was the first real change in concept and design. There's people that will just accept anything but that really opened up you don't have to do a certain look or be a certain thing.
