View Full Version : Ever have Stray Turtles?

Did you ever find a stray turtle, and out of love for the TMNT take them home and make them your pets?

I've gotten 2 turtles that way, called them Raph and Mike respectivly. I ended up letting both go after a few weeks cause I felt bad for them.

My father has told me that in his childhood, they had 2 Turtles and one Tortoise that someone had left. My Father's little sister found Him/it from a road.

Rarly seen a Wild turtle before. When My newt dies I'll get either a hermit crab or a turtle.

one time I did, we were up at are cabin, and I saw it crawling across the lawn, so I picked it up and put it in a bucket and fed it for a while, but when it came to leave, i let it go.

Sadly, I've never had a turtle wander near me.

Ehrm.. sorta... i once saw this cool lookin turtle tryin to cross the road. I knew he was in danger, but didnt want him to bite me or something, so i went back inside to get a shovel to air-lift him accross. The second i start walking away i heard a car coming............................................ ............................................... i already knew what was about to happen. I started running back, and then BAM. Ran right over him. Squished him to death. The driver didnt even care, and lived about 2 houses down. I told them what they did and she was just like "yea i know".

Lets face it, some people have no reguard for living animals. It's a crying shame really.

Yeah...ok.. :roll:

Anyways, when I was 6, I found a frog and wanted to take it home so I put it in a zip-lock bag but when I got home, it had died. :(

I've found plenty of stray turtles on the road... my mum's the one who takes them home. We usually pick up Boxer turtles, but let them loose in a few days. Every time my friend is driving and she sees a turtle in the road and no one's looking, she stops the car and moves it off off the road. :D

i once found a snapper turtle in my kiddy pool when i was younger, i kept him and fed him cold cutsm he wanted meat not veggies.

Actually I have. But it was the year before I knew about TMNT, i think i was eight. I found a pet Turtle to be so fascinating. So different from cats or dogs. My dog found it in the backyard and was running around scooting it around the cement on it's back with his nose like he did with his metallic dish to get attention.

I remember hearing a dragging/grinding sound like the dish would, but didn't sound quite right. I ran outside and saw this poor turtle at the mercy of my bull terrier (go spud go!) and so i kept it and looked after it. i got in trouble for letting it live in our bathtub, took it with me to play in the sandpit and everything. then just as it had mysteriously arrived, it just disappeared one day. my father said it 'ran away' but i doubt it.

and that's my childhood pet story...

What really pisses me off is when the swerve to HIT the animals.

When I was little my grandpa caught a snapping when we went fishing once though. Now that was cool, cause that was when TMNT 2 came out :).
