TMNT vs........ (Fantasy Match Ups)

I was spending too much time a bit ago watching fan made animations and ridiculous GTA PC characters of TMNT fighting other comic book and pop culture characters that I started thinking about how much I love the idea of the Turtles taking on other big franchise names. I thought I'd start a thread for people giving their own opinions on the idea and what match ups they'd like to see.

I think what appeals to me the most is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles facing the Hulk. Something about that visual sticks out to me with the Turtles having their incredible ninja training taking on someone as powerful and unstoppable as Bruce Banner when he takes on his Hulk form.

Plus, how awesome is this?

What are your thoughts on how that fight would go? I would like to think the Turtles would find a way to take him down. Oh, and what are some fantasy fights you've thought about the Turtles having!

They do this sort of hypothetical 'battle' between fictional characters on Comic Vine quite often. I believe they have a whole section devoted to it, and often post conditions for the battles. I don't post there but I lurk now and then. I've seen debates on Turtles vs some of the X-Men, Turtles vs Wolverine himself, The Foot vs the Hand, Shredder vs Magneto, the turtles vs one another etc. If you fancy it you should take a look on there because some of these guys have an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of Marvel in particular.

Yeah, the battles section is interesting but the site is full of knowledgeable people in general. There's quite a few good comic book sites out ther e- Comic Vine, Comic Book Resources, Superhero Hype etc. Lots of good stuff on superheroes as well as non-superhero books and independents.

It's an excellent photo, yes, but I won't lie; I am not much of a Hulk fan myself. I've just never taken the time to read any of his stories, but I'm sure that would change if I did. As far as the Marvel characters go I'm more drawn to Daredevil, the X-Men, Captain America and Spiderman.

For a more sci-fi storyline, I'd love to see a match up / team up with the turtles and DCs Lobo. I think it would be perfect thematically. Lobo is an extra-terrestrial bounty hunter and the turtles do their fair share of dimension hopping. Lobo can also be very slap stick and campy which wouldn't be a hard fit. His darker side would make for great chemisty with Raph too.

For a more grounded urban match up, I think Batman would be a good candidate. Like the turtles, he has no superpowers and they could all be part of a vigilante / detective storyline without one side grossly overpowering the other. Next to the TMNT, Batman was always my favorite comic book series. Lately, with how much I didn't like The Dark Knight Rises and how bored I've become with most of his current DC line and I've been totally invigorated with TMNT (even if I didn't enjoy the new movie whatsoever) and I'd love to see a battle between those two! Leo and Batman would be epic.

That would be cool! I always felt Del Toro should've directed a TMNT film. If there's ever someone who could take puppetry, special effects and a GOOD story...he would've done the Ninja Turtles justice.

Excellent idea on the Power Rangers. That would definitely match up nicely. Batman is still be my favorite, though. IDW does a lot of crossovers within their own licences. ie: ghostbusters, x-files, etc, but I wonder if they've considered crossovers with DC or Marvel ? It would most likely need to be a team up over a match up. ie: turtles and superheroes vs. turtle enemies and supervillains, in order to account for the gross difference in power level.

I loved the Turtles as much as the next guy.

But I really have a hard time seeing the Turtles take down the likes of the Hulk. Hand to hand the Turtles should beat the Power Rangers, but bring in there Zords and the Turtles are again out match in fire power.

I think the Turtles vs most of the Super Beings, Our Beloved Turtles may just be out class.

The OT turtles took out giant Krang, I'd say any TMNT worth their salt could at least put up a fight against a megazord. Good luck targeting something human size in a huge robot anyway.

But non of the Zords have a shrink button in them, The Turtles were able to defeat Giant Krang because of that chip that made the body grow.
Once Don smash it(Still never understood to this day that Leo's sword had no effect, and Don just smashes it with his bo in one hit)
The effects sunk the Body down and the Turtles had Krang on more even terms. The Zords have no such chip. And why bother to target the Turtles when the DragonZord could shoot machine gun like bullets out of his hands??

You wont need to aim if you can take a city block down with that fire power.

Well in the old Power Rangers in the Zords vs Monster fights, whole buildings and houses get smash. I sure every one gets out in time :lol: I pretty sure millions of people were not send to there deaths when the Zords and the monster they were fighting smashing and stomping on the city during there epic battle. :lol:

I sure the Rangers may not like it, but it was a every day thing to them lol.

Plus, I would've preferred Platinum Dunes had made the Street Sharks movie instead of a TMNT film....there's not as much of a rich history of story with that franchise and they really could've went off the wall with it.

Your right, Bay and Co could of done ANYTHING with Street Sharks, Aliens, white Shredder,(Well the series shredder was white and Sachs type.)
The Series may of had a origin story in the cartoon. The thing is, there is a major fan base that will defend Turtledom. Turtle fans are all over the place, If I had the rights to make a Turtle movie and made Aliens turtles ete. I be afraid to walk the street in day light for a few years. :lol: But Street Sharks? No fan base would defend what Street Sharks are suppose to be, outside of likeing hamburgers.

Yeah exactly! Not to go too off topic, but it's situations like that when movie companies are dealing with extremely popular properties they see a chance to do something with it because it has a loyal fan base they can exploit in a way. That's what Platinum Dunes did with TMNT. I've said what I've needed to say in how much I didn't like this new TMNT movie but imagine if PD and Michael Bay got their hands on Street Sharks instead of TMNT? I would've been much more done with that and the CGI effects that could've been used for that film. They would have the chance to try something new and start a whole new franchise. Would it have been a great movie? Who knows....but that sounds much more interesting to me than the world this new TMNT movie created.

I could see a mutli cross over match up where they team up with Usagi where they face the serpent from the 2k3 series because that serpent teamed up with the Serpent society. The brotherhood of evil mutants? would like to say THE CRIME SYNDICATE OF AMERICA but that's just not fair and don't want to see my Turtles go down like that. The frightful 4 would be more their speed.


Would also like a Punisher team up. Vs daredevil and vs Bane. And of course the obvious Gargoyles team up.

Well with mugen some editing may be required but you would be able to put whoever against whoever. I think there is a website where you can download mugen characters and then use then to fight each other in cpu vs cpu fight.

Tmnt vs biker mice? Modo hates rats so Splinter may be in the hot seat in that fight.

I downloaded mugen a couple years ago. We had a crappy computer, so I didn't keep it, but all you had to do with this one, was download the character if it was made and you could control it.

Anyone ever wonder what it would be like if the TMNT took on a bunch of unarmed Terminators with a bunch of swords in the middle of the street?

Wonder no more! I found this little battle on YouTube where someone took the 2007 TMNT CGI designs and a bunch of Terminators in GTA. It's a fun thing to watch and turn your brain off with. :tlol:

I don't know if any of you have heard of Gintama Anime but they've got this Gintoki character on that show who's one of the best swordsmen fighters. I'd love a a face off between him and Leo :D
