Not sure if there's a thread for this...but does anyone else remember spending a lot of time on the old NinjaTurtles.com? I loved it when I was younger. It had everything and I really dug the designs of the Turtles on their profile page.

They even had a page where you could e-mail the Turtles and I loved e-mailing Raphael and Mikey, it was pretty neat for my brother and I. Sure, it was kiddish but we ate it up.

I loved this web site, went there a lot!!!! Of course I don't recommend going to that site in middle school in the library!!! It is a hard one to live down!!!:roll:

I used to love just reading synopses on the films, tv shows, comics etc, even though I was well acquainted with them. It just felt more real than reading them on wiki. I use turtlepedia now when I feel like reading that sort of thing.

Oh my goodness. Oh Brother. how nostalgic I'm getting now and to go back to the original ninjaturtles.com through that archive. I thought that site was lost forever to me.

that old ninjaturtles.com website was the first website that I ever went on. It was like in 96 or 97 or so, and we first got the internet in our house. I was like 11 or 12 or so, my mom showed me what the internet was, and ninja turtles.com was the first thing I put into the search engine... Oh geez wow! I went on that site for years though grade school and through college, I went on it less over the years, but I would always so often go back to see what was going on it. It was that site where I first heard about Ninja Turtles next mutation before it aired. I got to see the characters designs of them. I think drawn by Michael Dooney. It was also the same with the 2003 turtles cartoon back in 2002 or so, it was the site I went to where I heard about the (at the time) new TMNT cartoon, and I first saw the character designs for the 2003 turtles.

Man. I was bummed when one day I tried to go on the site and it sent me directed me to nick.com

But its great to take a walk down memory lane.

Yup that was me. I removed anything that might get me in trouble such as the ability to read the first few issues of the comics. I also was not able to save anything that was already removed, so I have looked through the archive.org for some things. Some links are still broken as I have not gotten around to correcting anything. It's on my very low priority list.

I really miss the old ninjaturtles.com, I loved that site. I spent many many many hours on that site. I would say that the amount of time I've spent on the site, since it changed, probably totals up to less than one hour.

I loved that place. Visited it a lot when I was a kid. Loved reading the episode synopses and the character bios/profiles. It was also the place where I discovered the Mirage comics and read the first issues of it.

Also, anyone remember the daily comic strip? Have they ever been released on a book format as some sort of collection? Also, are they considered canon?

The actual reason that many of the links send you to the new PD movie's site is likely that much of the HTML coding has not been updated. When it was written, it coded for various links on NinjaTurtles.com, but as that site doesn't exist anymore, it forwards to the movie. The way to fix is to update the coding with what the new addresses on Winters' copies of the pages actually are.

Konchadunga is correct, the reason those links do not work properly is that when Dan Berger built the site and linked pages to other pages he used the full domain for the link (ex http://ninjaturtles.com/comics/page1.html), instead of linking within the folder structure (/comics/page1.html). I would have to spend a good deal of time getting everything corrected, it's on my list of things to do, it's just at the very bottom of that list.

How come Viacom doesn't want an official source for TMNT on the web? Ninjaturtles.com was awesome. Letting fans rely on Wikis for information is very unprofessional. Also, how can fans learn about the history of TMNT and look back on the previous shows, comics, videos, and toys if there is no official website? Sure you can buy the books, documentaries, and whatnot, but aren't we in the 21st century where we have this thing called the Internet as well? No offense to the Technodrome and other fansites, but I found it more convenient in the past to just go to the official site to get the latest news.

It kind of reminds me of the time the StarWars.com website took away the Databank and replaced it with the Encyclopedia that gave links to Wookiepedia. It was changed back to the Databank again though.
