Not sure if this has been posted yet...
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) Limited Edition Gift Set includes a highly detailed collectible statue of Raphael, winner of the online contest to become the Amazon exclusive figure. Created using the digital character model that brought Raphael to life in the movie, the figure captures every detail perfectly, from his signature red bandana and sunglasses, to his scaled, muscular body and battle-worn shell. Raphael is posed in a battle-ready stance, with his twin sais outstretched. The figure stands 6.5 inches tall atop a detailed street scene display base, complete with sewer entrance, and spans over 7 inches wide and nearly 5 inches deep. This Raphael statue is a must-have for any TMNT fan, and the perfect addition to any collection.

And now Guardians of the Galaxy is apparently set for release on the same day (http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/guardians-of-the-galaxy/239549/guardians-of-the-galaxy-blu-ray-and-dvd-release-date). Looks like the little "rivalry" gets a round two? :trazz:

Well, it's not that surprising - it's a pretty perfect holiday release date. They could both do good sales.
And my birthday's three days later, so I've already strongly hinted to my wife that a GotG blu-ray would make a great gift. ;)

Do DVD/Blu-Ray have spacific release dates like theater releases do or what... (I mean in the sense of like how many hit theaters on a Friday rather than most other days.)
Guardians: I'm coming out on the 9th, too!

From my Blockbuster Video days about 9 years ago, I remember everything usually came out on Tuesdays. I think that's still the case. But there are probably some exceptions - there always are.

Tuesday is the day things are released, generally. That's because apparently people are more aware of things going on in the world on Tuesday than on Monday.
There are exceptions, like Bry mentioned. The last Harry Potter movie came out on a Friday, which I assume was because the date was 11/11/11.

I would assume cause on a Monday you're barely alive so to speak and you wouldn't care about minor **** like that. Tuesday you're more awake and used to the daily weekly grind and you're more like 'whoa that new movie is out on DVD? I'll check it out'. This is assuming you work all week and have weekends off.

I found some of the retailer exclusives!
http://blurayretailerexclusives.blogspot.com/2014/08/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2014.html
Walmart has four turtle figures (not sure if Playmates basic figs or something else) and two reversible masks, a red/orange and a blue/purple.
Amazon has the Raph statue as we all knew.
Target has a bonus disc and four different slipcovers for the four Turtles.
Best Buy has a sweet steel book.
Really wasn't planning on picking this movie up but I might get the bonus disc and Raph slipcover from Target.

There's probably not a big overlap between people who still prefer DVD, and people who prefer special/deluxe editions with all the frills. I think the effort is probably to lower the number of releases, as DVDs fade out. Between basic DVDs, basic blu-rays, deluxe DVDs, deluxe blu-rays, and combo packs, I can understand deluxe DVDs being the first to go...

Nope. That's the one she attacked her murderer/attackers. That's nothing, she was only defending herself from being killed.
http://i.imgur.com/suLL5I2.jpg
The one I'm talking about is how it portrays Elsa abusing her power to intimidate people. People's perception at that time was that she's evil. Here's the gif:
http://i.imgur.com/j9WTfBb.gif
It's also in early trailers. You can also search for Frozen the making on youtube or something. There's storyboards about it where she practically wrecked an army of soldiers using her ice power to send a message back to Arendelle/Hans. She even gloated in front of them, establishing how powerful she was. :)

All in all, I would love to see the original interpretation of the film, I was one of the many optimistic individuals willing to accept the original approach they were going for. :tcool:

Instead of coming to blu-ray I hope this would come out on No-ray. Haha, see what I did there?

I'm just hoping that the "extended ending" pertains to the Channel 6 News report that April does about the action that's been going on in New York. To me that would make the ending of the movie make more sense when the turtles talk to April in the Turtle Van. They mention something about "Thanks for keeping our secret", well this way it just explains better what they're taking about and we see that April got her job back at the end of the movie.

Preordered the Amazon exclusive statue and also Barnes and Noble with the exclusive Kevin Eastman poster. I loved the artwork on the display at B&N.

I probably would have laughed at a "green-ray" joke.
But that's just me.

ive noticed this seems the be the case in general these days with all home releases
Disney and Paramount seem to be the 2 really guilty of this
Id add Fox to that list as well. X-men DOFP Dvd release is just the movie while the Special Features are on the blu ray Combo pack.

They do like to move those combo packs. They're made for upgraders. I switched over pretty early, since you don't need an HDTV to watch them.
So... you can always switch...

I'll be having to waiting for too long because I didnot yet get my DVD player. I have to wait for the VHS version (I know it sucks but DVD player is expressive here). Maybe they will make it for us soon after the DVD is made up.
I hope to not need to buy a copy from bootleg. that is not the turtle way.
