View Full Version : Cooking for friend from out of town

My friend Malik is visiting from out of town and I was going to make him dinner. I was going to make some fried chicken, collard greens, fried pigs feet and some black eyed peas. For desert I was thinking watermelon.
Does this sound like a good meal? What do you think I should get to drink?

As a southerner, I think it's mostly a fine meal. Given your post I doubt you'd eat any of it though. Fried pig feet. Ignorant.
The proper meal would be chicken fried in waffle batter, collards, pintos, fried potatoes, and banana pudding. Pickled pig feet are appetizers. I prefer chicken and pork be in separate meals.
But since you were fishing for a certain type of response given your story, all I can say is grow up.

You're a piece of garbage. I guess the homophobic thread from a few months ago wasn't enough, hadda spread a little racism around to even things out. Why don't you take this query to big black gentleman in your area & see what they think?
Only on Sundays, right...? *facepalms*

So, I was correct in his previous thread? :P
Serve your guests some proper Smalahove.
As for drinks, let HIM decide. Smartest advice I can give you since you clearly need it.

And here I thought this was a legitimate thread. The things people post sometimes. *shakes head*

Man, you need help.

I thought you were asking a serious question at first...
That's terrible, man. It's not even funny, it's just rude and ignorant.

How is this thread racist, am I missing something? Usually I pick up on stuff like this easily but I don't get it.
If I were cooking for a friend I would just order a pie of pizza and be done with it.

That's not cooking though.
And the fact he didn't automatically know to get some Colt 45 is also pretty insensitive.

Hahahahaha. I find this pretty funny given how many of your posts leave me scratching my head.
This dumba$$ just thinks he's being clever and funny by posting little stories about stereotypical garbage veiled as legitimate situations. Don't break your head trying to think about it.
This thread would be better if we talked about real southern dishes.
Amazing meals like a big old sliced tomato, some pork ribs, a heap of turnip greeens, and fried corn.

I like how you tell me that I am ignorant and to grow up while at the same time telling me that I have selected a mostly fine southern meal; and yes, some people really do eat fried pigs feet. I really do have a friend visiting from down south and you have no evidence to prove otherwise or that I am fishing for any type of response.
I have not insulted anyone or said something racist. If this post bothers you it is because of how you are interpreting it.

This is a legitimate thread. Don't be misdirected into thinking it is not by people who are taking it the wrong way.

What's terrible about it? How is it rude and ignorant? I was simply asking whether people thought my choice of food would make for a good meal. Is the food I have selected not what southerners eat (where my guest is from)?

You're the worst "troll" this board has ever had, good God, do you even try? At least you fooled a few (admittedly doormat-dumb) people with the fudgepacker thread, but this is just sad.

Powder, you really can't talk. You've already been banned once for being a douche and based on your posts you seem like a moody, aggressive, and obnoxious person as well as a pretty big dick to other people on this forum. I wonder if maybe you are trying to redeem yourself by attacking me.

Fried trotters are nasty.
And you are still ignorant and not clever or funny.
I posted what I did because despite your offensive intent towards a certain race and region, I think people should be aware that southern food is tasty.
You can protest all you want. We all understand what you were trying to do.
Again. Grow the f*ck up.

My ban was a mistake for which I have been apologized to. Don't speak on matters you know nothing of, kid. That aside, there's a big difference between my being cranky & you being a racist, sexist, homophobic, instigator bastard. Redeem myself? I should think it's pretty clear I don't give a damn about the way I come off.

No, it really isn't. You're being racist and assuming that anyone who's from the south and black eats that stuff. Not everyone does. You truly are a horrible person.
You're the worst "troll" this board has ever had, good God, do you even try? At least you fooled a few (admittedly doormat-dumb) people with the fudgepacker thread, but this is just sad.
I'm not dumb. I admit, I thought it was a legitimate thread upon first reading it, but upon closer inspection and reading the responses, I began to see that he is nothing but a troll. He's very clever thinking that he can get away with posting this stuff and acting like it's a legitimate thread with his wording, but he's not.

My post can't be racist. I never mentioned anything about race and I never said my guest was an African American. You are just assuming that.
I may have been assuming that people from the south eat the foods I suggested (some, but not all certainly do) but that is why I asked if the food I selected for my meal was a good idea.

Again, without any mention of race, my post can't be racist.
And how many NON black people named "Malik" do you know?
The f*ck is he, Scandinavian?

My friend Malik is Korean American.
Oh, so you're feeding him fried chicken to not be racist towards HIM then, right?
Get the hell outta here with that crap, man.

Yep, the name Malik and the watermelon sort of tipped me off after I read the responses to the thread. And I think you're full of sh*t because Malik is not a Korean name.

Christ, I'm sick for a few days, and this place goes to hell....
I have literally crawled out of my bed to deal with this, after seeing my email account explode with reports.
Ledahead, you've done this before. You've been warned. Goodbye.
