You guys in the US are so lucky, you get that lovely boxset thats shaped like the Turtle Van and even tho the episodes are abit jumbled up at least you have that.
Look at what us in the UK got recently in its place.

Yeah considering nearly every 80s cartoon however obscure has had a UK DVD release I'm not sure why two big properties like Ninja Turtles and Real Ghostbusters never get UK complete series sets. It really is weird. :-?

I have the 25th anniversary release and then seasons 3-10 on region 1, since it was my only option. :P

Me too. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Fhgtr3r9ZE)
Seriously guys, you don't want the van. Just LOOK at how the discs are held!

It's also a lot cheaper to buy each season separately.

is there any blu rays? they are region free, and the discs are less likely to damage.

As far as I know, the only TMNT properties that are available on Blu-ray are the 3 live action movies and the 2007 CGI movie. Anyone please feel free to correct me on that cos I'm not that sure right now.

Well, I think season one was the best season, so we're not missing out on a lot by having only some DVDs of the series.

Just purchased the complete series (van) from amazon, £65 inc p & p. Works out slightly cheaper than buying all the seasons separately, well i worked it out at about £68 before postage costs. Each to their own on this.

The original He-Man series hasn't had a full DVD release yet in the UK either... season 2 not released.

I'm still shocked at how many 80s/90s Marvel cartoons have been released in region 2 more so than in Region 1. We've had practically the whole library.

This is basically nothing more than a Sewer Heroes Series re-release, though mostly with different episodes and three instead of two. That said, the only purpose to buy is if these DVD's were transfered at SP speed since that provides the best quality since discs with many episodes on them such as Seasons 2 and 3 were likely recorded at EP speed, and that tends to degrade more easily. It would have been cool though if there was a disc/booklet stating exactly what got edited out from the TMHT airings as a gag from the past. Your best bet in the UK is to buy the German releases.

Does anyone know how good the quality of the German dvds are? Do they have an English setting? Are they the fully intact US versions?

£500?! One would be better off getting all the seasons separately. Seasons one, two, best of DVDs and Cowabunga Classics are enough for me anyway. I think most of the best episodes are on those DVDs.
