Where did u get this from? All websites say release is this Monday, with the next Nick series DVD

I already have the compete series. Got both volumes for $20 together. It was worth it, despite the bad writing.

I ordered it from Zavvi the day it went up, they must of sent them out early....I also have the new Nick Cartoon DVD as well

Is the original theme song included and are the episodes uncut with scenes such as the Batman & Robin advertisement or Shredder's "pink flower" lecture?

I don't know yet, haven't even had it out the wrapping. Going to try and start going through them tomorrow as i've never watch them all before

So the most hated TMNT show, the one that only got a single season because of the hate, had a DVD release? And the one that ran for seven seasons and has generally been positively received, has not had a single re-release since the buyout? Seriously?

I think the recent releases of this series on DVD have more to do with Saban than Viacom/Nickelodeon, especially since they've bought back some of their properties from Disney a few years ago, including Power Rangers, so they're just re-releasing their catalog on DVD again. As for the 2003 series, that's Viacom/Nickelodeon's problem since they own all the rights to that show, especially since 4Kids is out of the picture now.

A relative loaned me the DVDs back in 2008 and I watched it then. It's also on Netflix, so I see no reason to buy.

Netflix...I would rather not have to keep paying for the privilege of watching something I can watch whenever I want and without internet connection on DVD.

Valiant stance - I on the other hand would rather pay a paltry £6 per month (20 pence per day) to watch a show which I may only watch through once, rather than pay £50+ for it. It works both ways.

Internet connection is no problem for me. I have fibre. I also wouldn't have to go to the effort of loading up a DVD or Blu Ray every time I watched, and being treated like a criminal with warning messages at the start of something I legally paid for. I buy DVDs and BRs as they're a necessary evil, but they take ages to load.

I was thinking the same thing a couple of days ago. :lol: Nick really need to re-release the 2k3 series on DVD. It really deserves a full proper release.

It's on Amazon instant video too, if you have Amazon prime it's free to watch. I don't understand why it's just that season either, I was really hoping 2k3 was gonna be on there too.

They never upload 2k3 anywhere. The whole thing is on youtube though and it has its android and game console apps.

I watched lots of it on a tablet so was fine with me. There were widescreen and 4:3 I thought.

I haven't watched many of them on YouTube since I have them all downloaded in 4:3. But prior to that, every video I found on YouTube was in 16:9 for some reason and you could easily tell that they were intended to be 4:3.

Well, I do too, but youtube is a good alternative for tablets etc.

But yeah, 16:9 isn't ideal as it was a 4:3 show.

I'll never understand why people seem to demand that shows fill their TV screens when they weren't filmed/created that way.

Some people despise those black bars. I have a relative who feels that way, but I agree with you in certain cases.

Stretching something to 16:9 makes it look horrible 9 times out of 10. These people need to realise that 16:9 didn't always exist.

Also, people are fine with black bars on the top and bottom - but not at the sides? The mind boggles. :roll:

I HATE when people change and aspect ratio without keeping the same proportions. It looks terrible and is an insult to the people that made the film or TV show.

I'm not crazy about changing them at all even if they just zoom in on a 4:3 image. It's stupid and you miss all the details on the outer parts of the frame.

Zooming in is even worse than stretching because as you said, you miss stuff on the outer frames. Why anyone would prefer that is just bizarre to me.

Hey Longview01, now that you've had some time to watch them - do these DVDs include the original theme? If it says "Hero Turtles" anywhere then I think I'll just buy the Shout Factory releases. :P

I believe it's the same for both. Yeah I can't understand how you can lose the rights to a theme song that has "Ninja Turtles" in it. :lol:
