For those of you who remember me or not my name it Jones Boy. Today i would like to talk issue of G! TMNT cartoons. Have you ever thought that it could have been done better? It maybe my belief that some of you feel the same way as me?...or not depending on how you feel. You see in season one we saw the turtles act very acton packed. There was alot of ninjutsu between the turtles, splinter, shredder and the foot. Also bebop and rocksteady acted psychopaths and krang acted like a sick genius. Then in season two it was fifty/fifty were as there was action but there was also comedy and unfortunately comedy was getting more of an advantage then action. Then in season three there was no action what so ever and there was only comedy. To put it simply shreddder was a complainer and a cry baby, bebop and rocksteady acted like harry and lloyd from dumb and dumber, and krang he lost his edge.
to be honest what i typed was half done, here is the rest of the topic, you see when i talked about TMNT (G1) animated series i thought they would still keep/leave the behavior of season 1 intact.
i am talking about shredder being the most hardcore relentless villain, bebop & rocksteady being more intimidating & vicious then any thug,& krang having a sick behavior that would make the cromags from sliders look like mr. wizard,& as a bonus we would be rewarded by a beauty who is equal to april....i am talking about karai.
for the record karai should have a (G1) version of herself,& have an action figure version of herself in the (G1) toy line.
the point is that we as turtle fans deserve better & that back then in TMNT (G1) they should know better,TMNT should be equals to spider-man, x-men, batman,& power rangers, also the turles & splinter teach april how to fight(especially when it comes to confrontations like karai which i might add deserve to be in the series),also followers of the TMNT & Foot Clan should & must have boy & girl members so there won't be any discrimination & such in the cartoon series, toy line,& such,& finally be treated seriously.
also, aside the fact on how much we as turtles fans want our favorite heroes & villains in our franchise to behave the same way as marvel comics & DC comics,& what w/ tech growing strong like you tube & other viral websites, you have the right to disagree w/ me or not but i see potential & possibility in the turtles....& that they can do anything, cause i have faith in them in knowing better,no matter what generation they are...we have the ability to reset & recalibrate (G1).......if we want to....how to do it?,is up to you....if it means we need permission to do it then do it & be wise on how to do it....make eastman & laird proud.
in conclusion i know i must get over & move on to (G3) of TMNT but some way some how i still believe that there can be more to do w/ it.......& yes i love karai..she may be the anti april but she's as beautiful the same way as april.
holla if you hear me.

Go watch the Nick show. It makes up for all that.

^ Agreed. You're going to have a great time watching season 1.

Not disagreeing with the above posts, because the Nick show is great. But, hypothetically, I wouldn't mind seeing a non-kid-oriented version of the series (i.e. entirely composed of adult themes, language, etc.). I guess we have the comics for that (sort of), but I'd like to see something animated. Would be nice - but, again, it's hypothetical. I doubt it will ever happen, unfortunately. I'm satisfied with the Nick version, though.

Well if there could be a TMNT cartoon that had none of the problems I have with the three we have, then that would be pretty nice.

Mikey being presented as intelligent would be nice.
Animation that does not look cheap a big chunk of the time would be nice.
No damn combat vehicles being shoehorned in would be nice.
No plot derailments would be nice.

Then again, all of this is just removal problems, not what I think a good direction would be.

Not animated, but lots of us have been banging on about a live-action series on HBO or Netflix or something. A show which could pull all the stops, is based on Mirage and isn't constrained by ratings. Something like they're doing with Daredevil and the Defenders. It will never happen of course, but man would it be great. I could watch something like that over and over again.

TMNT should be separated into kid and adult friendly versions. Most of us would watch both sides of the franchise but it would be nice for the adults to see something new.

As for the OP - mate, watch 2k3 before Nick. The former has finished is run and is well worth your time if you haven't seen it. You'll enjoy it Jones boy.

I'd like to see a Japanese production handling the TMNT franchise, especially an adaptation of the Mirage Comics. I'd be happy with a animated version of the first Mirage comic issue.

Unfortunately animation isn't taken as seriously in the USA as it is in Japan, so the Japanese are the only ones I could see making a mature animated version of the TMNT.

I wouldn't say it's entirely out of the question. But if "live action" implies anything like Next Mutation...then I can't say I'd be interested. Eh, who am I kidding. I'd watch it.

I've noticed that. :ohwell:

I didn't mind NM as much as most people, but yeah, if a potential future live-action show was to be of similar quality to that, then I'd rather it just not happen.

Imagine Leo decapitating Shredder in the HBO season 1 finale. And this time, a REAL decapitation.

Oh, man...that would be pretty satisfying. :tcool: At the VERY least, I'd like to see some blood affiliated with the series (why couldn't the 2014 movie have had some???)

It's HBO or Netflix therefore blood, swearing - whatever.

Imagine Splinter eating rats and losing it at an apparition of the Rat King during a City At War arc. Zanramon being killed.

We really, really need some really disturbing turtles stuff in the form of television.

I'm still waiting for him to be introduced in the Nick series, as well as Bebop and Rocksteady (looking forward to that, since they were slapstick jokes in the 80's and were never given any real importance or recognition after that). And, yes, we NEED some disturbing stuff. Disturbing is good. Would keep me watching, for sure.

Disturbing mirrors the real world and in a bizarre way gives me some sort of comfort, as it's stuff that really needs to be addressed in fiction. We need some very dark stuff - possibly with a turtle dying by the series finale.

That would admittedly not bother me. I would love to see something intense like that. No doubt it would cause an assload of controversy, but I'd be all for it. As long as it's only one.

People die in every fictional property, often the heroes. Captain America died for example. I'd like to see Raph die in a series finale of an HBO series after saving Leo from Shredder possibly throwing him off of a skyscraper (assuming Shredder wasn't decapitated earlier in the series). Could incorporate the IDW stuff - Leo becomes Shredder's right-hand man but gets away a la IDW, and Shredder becomes completely obsessed with getting him back. Eventually he realises it's a fruitless task, but he's enraged when Raphael prevents him from taking his revenge on Leo, so fatally wounds Raph. But I'd want Leo and Raph to pour each others' hearts out as Raph lay dying on the floor, with Donnie and Mikey preferably hugging and crying in the background. Leo vs Raph would be a prominent theme throughout the entire series, and the resolution would be their embrace prior to Raph's death.

The final scene would be the three guys going their separate ways. I should add that Splinter would be deceased by this point as well, a la Volume 4.

I know we had SAINW but it's not really the same thing.

Yeah, Season 1 of the OT series was good. It looked like they were trying to go back to that in Season 7, but then...The Red Sky Series and their many, many unresolved sub-plots and storylines. (Like, what the heck happened to the Havoc mutants!?! Those omnicidal maniacs are still running on the streets! Instead of resolving the issue in season 8, they went with a new plot! Oy...)
